00:03This is Grit and Valour 1949 by the developers Endreams and it was released on the 21st of August 2025.

00:09Hey guys, so I'm not really into this type of game but I thought I'd give this one a shot seeing as it's got mechs in.

00:16About the game, so you are playing as a commander overlooking the battlefield and ordering your units around to where they will be needed.

00:23Thankfully you have a button to push that pauses the gameplay so you can reposition your mechs,

00:28which is almost certainly needed otherwise it would be too much and too quick.

00:33Every battle won is more ground gained until you meet the final boss.

00:37But if you lose, back to the base to make adjustments to be stronger and better equipped and then it's back out to try again.

00:43Levels and size.

00:44There are four missions which are basically maps to complete.

00:47The British Isles, Scandinavia, Western Europe and Germany.

00:52British Isles has 11 battles in and then on the 12th battle you face the boss.

00:56I honestly can't tell you about the other maps yet because I haven't completed the first one yet.

01:01But I imagine the rest to be the same.

01:03Though each battle isn't a huge area there are plenty of them.

01:07If you die you have to start again but it will all be different.

01:11So you will get an incredible amount of gameplay from this game.

01:14Especially if you are into this type of gaming.

01:17Enemies and bosses.

01:18There are a decent amount of enemies from infantry to tanks and mechs all flown in by helicopters.

01:25And then there are the bosses which are super tough and will take everything you've got.

01:29All the mechs and bosses are really well designed and they look fantastic.

01:33Weapons.

01:34Weapons are the usual pew pew bang bang explosions and stuff.

01:38Nothing really stands out.

01:39But also remember despite the 4 or 5 hours I've put into this game so far.

01:43I'm pretty much early on into this game.

01:45So it's possible more exciting weapons are coming in the next levels.

01:49Also if you pick up your mech and hold it for a second.

01:52You can enable his special weapon.

01:54Though make sure you know which mech does what.

01:56As there's no display to tell you.

01:58The amount of times I've tried to lay down some mines from my mech.

02:02And is ended just jumping across the mech.

02:05Because it was the wrong mech.

02:07Level up options.

02:08There are a few leveling up systems in place.

02:10The command center where you collect research points.

02:13From doing missions and completing things such as.

02:15Killing a certain amount of enemies with a certain mech.

02:18Which will earn you a point.

02:19Drop a certain amount of mines etc.

02:21Then with these points.

02:23You can open and develop things on your base.

02:26Like mech crew quarters.

02:28Or reinforce the covers you hide your mechs behind.

02:31Then you can head to the pilot barracks.

02:33And use coins you earn on each pilot.

02:36To upgrade things such as damage.

02:38Charges and cooldown.

02:39As well as unlock some more pilots.

02:41Or there's the mech yard.

02:43Where you can unlock more of the nine mechs.

02:45Then buy parts for those mechs.

02:47And fit them out.

02:48Then there's also something called over clocks.

02:50Which is like an ability.

02:52You unlock three of them.

02:53And then add things such as.

02:55Apex hunter.

02:56Which increases your mech attacks on bosses.

02:58Or shell striker.

02:59Which increases your attack damage on enemies with armor.

03:02So there's plenty in there to learn.

03:04And play around with.

03:05Mechanics.

03:06Now it did crash a few times.

03:08Whilst loading into a game.

03:10Which had me have to quit the game.

03:12And reload it.

03:13And the other problem I encountered was.

03:15It isn't always responsive.

03:16When trying to pull yourself around.

03:18To position your view.

03:19Also occasionally.

03:20It wouldn't let me grab and pick up my mechs.

03:23Or it would have a ghost mech.

03:25Just sitting there.

03:26That I couldn't pick up or move.

03:27This game has some serious issues.

03:29That needs to be fixed.

03:30As soon as possible.

03:32Controls.

03:33If you are an experienced quest user.

03:35The controls are actually quite simple.

03:36To learn and master.

03:38If you are new to the quest.

03:39It might take you a little longer.

03:41To get used to.

03:42Mainly the spinning of the battle board.

03:44And pulling yourself around.

03:45Game menus.

03:46There are menus.

03:47All over the place.

03:48For this game.

03:49But the main menu.

03:50Offers you settings.

03:51For gameplay.

03:52Graphics.

03:53Audio.

03:54Accessibility.

03:55And then other.

03:56And each setting.

03:57Has a ton of stuff in.

03:58To customize your game.

03:59To how you like it.

04:00My thoughts.

04:01So as I said.

04:02This really isn't my type of game.

04:04But I did.

04:06Enjoy playing.

04:07I found myself.

04:08Wanting to level up.

04:09To get better gear.

04:10For my mechs.

04:11Though it can be a little.

04:12Overwhelming.

04:13With all the things.

04:14You can unlock.

04:15And it doesn't.

04:16Do a great job.

04:17At explaining.

04:18These things clearly.

04:19This is a game.

04:20Where you just.

04:21Gotta play it.

04:22For a few hours.

04:23And eventually.

04:24It will all.

04:25Click into place.

04:26As you unlock stuff.

04:27And progress.

04:28All of my time.

04:29In this game.

04:30Involved me.

04:31Just sitting up.

04:32In my bed.

04:33Playing.

04:34Now I played.

04:35About six games.

04:36Before I finally.

04:37Managed to make it.

04:38To the first boss.

04:39But I keep.

04:40Dying.

04:41So this game.

04:42Isn't a walk.

04:43In the park.

04:44And a lot.

04:45Of replayability.

04:46Value.

04:47If you can see.

04:48Past all the bugs.

04:49I do recommend.

04:50This game.

04:51If you enjoy.

04:54I would wait.

04:55For a few updates.

04:56Until the bugs.

04:57Have been addressed.

04:58Or I would wait.
