00:00Welcome to the
00:25This is World War Z by the developers Sabre Interactive Inc and it was released on the
00:5212th of August 2025. About the game. You and two sidekicks will battle your way through
00:57streets on a number of missions. Look for crates for weapons and ammo and also search for keys
01:02that will unlock some help at the end of each level when you have to fend off a swarm of
01:07relentless zombies. Now I warn you that this is repetitive as every level seems to follow the same
01:13blueprint. Fight zombies whilst heading to your destination, find and collect keys, unlock guns
01:18and defences, have massive zombie battle. Levels and size. There are four locations but the first
01:25one is just for training and then the three main locations are New York, Tokyo and Marseille. Each
01:30location has three or four missions and each mission will take you on average 30 minutes to get through.
01:35So you are looking at getting about four to six hours of gameplay out of this but that's based on
01:40if you play on a medium setting and realistic modes. Each location is beautifully done and it's very
01:46large. Lots of colours, so much going on everywhere and there is plenty around to look at. Playable
01:52characters. Even though you can select between characters I don't really see the point in it. There's
01:57no special traits about each one, not like one carries more ammo than the other or has more health,
02:03can move faster or have different weapons to start out with. So I'm not really sure apart from what
02:09you see on your hands. Enemies. I mean they are just zombies but there are quite a few different types
02:15and there are obviously hundreds of them coming at you. It's exciting, a real buzz and just pure fun.
02:21Zombies you can expect to run into are the common zombie, the bomber, the screamer, the gas bag and the
02:28infector. Weapons. Weapons will unlock as you find them out in the game. You have a pistol, a pistol with
02:34a silencer, a revolver, a compact SMG, advanced SMG, shotgun, assault shotgun, combat shotgun and a double
02:43barrel shotgun, compact rifle, assault rifle, assault carbine, grenade launcher, machine gun and a hail
02:50stall MGL and then the heavy duty guns. And then there's the automatic guns that you unlock with
02:56keys. So plenty to keep you going. You can try each weapon out in the gun range and also can change the
03:01skin on each gun so long as you've completed the mission or challenge to unlock it which is normally
03:06in hard mode. Also worth mentioning that everything snaps back into place if you let go of it. So you don't
03:11have to worry about losing any guns by not putting them back on you properly. The one negative I have
03:17about the guns is the blue light that appears every time you need to change ammo. That's great for the
03:22training video but if you still need a visual guide after that then you have no business playing shooter
03:28games so I really hope they take this away. Leveling up options. As you progress through the game you will
03:33earn points at the end of each level and as you rank up things start to unlock like equipment you start
03:39off with. To begin with you start off with a pistol but you'll soon be able to dew wield or add a stun gun
03:45or carry extra big box of ammos for those big guns at the end. Then there's like a perk tree that begins
03:51to unlock stuff for like teamwork, firepower, recovery, ammo and utility. Mechanics. The game is just
03:58brilliant. Considering how big it is and how much is involved and the millions of zombies I barely came
04:03across any bugs. The only issue I had was I ran into something where when I was holding the gun in
04:09my right hand I couldn't use my left hand to pick up anything or open any doors. I could only take the
04:16gun out of my holster but all that would be fine if I put the gun away from my right hand. Controls.
04:22Controls are dead easy. That's right I said dead easy. And probably easier if you don't select manual
04:28reloading etc. By the end of the tutorial you will have everything down. I've got to mention that
04:33the tutorial is really well done too. Game menus. The menus look good and offer seated or standing
04:39position, snap or smooth turn and the speed. Then modes for reloading and grenades. Then grenade slot
04:46movement. Then sound options with sliders for each of master volume, music volume, weapons volume, speech
04:53volume and zombies volume. Then subtitles on or off, haptic feedback, the tinnitus and language options.
05:00Then there's a calibration menu. Then you can access the gun range, the codex which tells you your
05:05zombies and characters, the world map and career. My thoughts. I think this game is superb. It's quite the
05:12scene when you are waiting for that zombie haul to come at you and wonder where they're going to come
05:17from. I was honestly shocked at just how many come at you. It's just relentless. If you are a fan of
05:22zombie games like Arizona Sunshine then you will absolutely love this. I mean there's no great
05:27story. It is what it is. It's the same as the film and there's no variance in the levels. That's the
05:33only drawback. Sometimes it would have been nice to do something different but it feels like a nice
05:38arcade style shooter game just blowing everything to hell. It is a real shame it's not multiplayer as
05:44you do have two people playing with you helping but it's not the end of the world. It's still a
05:48fantastic game in solo and let's face it we have After the Fall for multiplayer and tons of zombies.
05:54I hope more films in the near future will follow suit and make games. Imagine Lord of the Rings in
05:59VR or Back to the Future or The Matrix, Indiana Jones, Predator. Of course they would have to get the
06:05right studios to make them but there are so many films that would make great VR games. If you can think
06:11of any leave them down in the comments. I can honestly say that this is easily in my top 10 of games I've
06:17played this year so far. It really is just a lot of fun. Yes there's things that could probably be
06:22added to make it better but the game is already strong enough. The panic feeling it creates and the utter
06:28chaos is just amazing. You lose yourself in that moment which some games just don't achieve. So it's
06:34only that multiplayer co-op mode thing that's missing which I know many people will cry about but for
06:40someone who loves playing solo it's just perfect. Anyway now please touch that like button if you enjoyed the
