01:00Venezuelan Vice President Delsi Rodriguez warned Friday that those who attempt to carry out a military intervention in the country will face very serious consequences.
01:12During a new day of enlistment to the Bolivarian National Malaysia, the Vice President condemned the deployment of U.S. troops near the Venezuela's Caribbean coast and questioned Washington's justification of allegedly combating drug trafficking in the area.
01:26Rodriguez also highlighted that the presence of nuclear submarines, warplanes and missile launchers in the area intends to spread civil instability in the region.
01:36The Vice President affirmed that the people of Venezuela is determined to support its government and fight for the defense of national sovereignty and peace.
01:43And to go deep into the relevance of this event for Venezuelans, we invite Lisbeth Melendez, international U.S. policy analyst, co-chair as well of the Board of Directors Waves Ahead of Puerto Rico.
02:03Hello, Lisbeth, and thank you for joining us.
02:06Thank you for inviting me.
02:07How would you assess the influence of the far right on U.S. foreign policy towards Latin America and also what are the potential long-term consequences of their involvement in Venezuela's internal affairs regarding the actual, the current moment Venezuela is living?
02:22Well, you know, we need to understand that for a country that continually speak about self-determination of its people, we are under a current government system that has denounced, denied and silenced the voice of the people of the United States.
02:39And so in doing so, the far right has achieved one of their main goals, which is to establish what many will say a fascist, you know, state here that has seen the region in the same way in which many of the former presidents of the 1800s and early 1900s did with the occupations of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines under the sole guidance of the Spanish-American War.
03:08The idea of destabilizing Venezuela follows a history of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, et cetera, and any place, and demonstrate that they still believe that any place that comes to successful definition of no other than the democracy, the capitalist democracy as established by the elites of this country is a threat and therefore must be eliminated.
03:34They will do so either by invasion or by quiet acquisition of destabilizers within those countries, and we obviously see it at this moment in Venezuela.
03:45In the current scenario, marked by the U.S. deployment of military ships in the Caribbean and also the threats it represents not just for Venezuela but also for the region, Latin America and the Caribbean region, how important is international solidarity in this fight Venezuela is moving forward against these foreign interventions?
04:06Well, it is the utmost importance that the international community realizes that this is one more act of foreign aggression by a government whose current leader spoke of no invasions, no new wars, no new conflicts outside of an isolationist stance, and has done anything but.
04:27He continues to do so.

04:30He continues to meddle in the Ukraine-Russian war.
04:31He continues to meddle in America Latina.
04:32He continues to meddle in Asia.
04:35And therefore, not just by tariff but by military presence, destabilizes the forces that globally continue to secure peace around the world.
04:47It is an incredibly dangerous stance that we follow in, and one, by the way, for which is very little known here.
04:54Those of us who are involved in policies and politics in the United States know about these movements, but the majority of the country has not even heard because he's constantly throwing information and destabilization,
05:07you know, disabilizing information within the country to keep the people in a lull with their eyes covered as to what he is actually effectuating and doing outside of the borders of the United States.
05:22So, in Venezuela, the national Bolivarian militias enlistment day is underway.
05:28Also, there's going to be this process as well alone tomorrow.
05:31What message, what's the message that Venezuela is sending to the world, and how does this response from the people reflect the resilience of the Venezuelan society as a whole,
05:40in spite of these actions from the U.S. and the far right inside the country?
05:45Just like any other country who is there to speak and to self-determine, the Venezuelans continue to demonstrate what it is to stand for its own defense, for its own standing.
05:59And we know that regardless of what the decision is by the Venezuelan people, it will be one that will be sustained by the community of Venezuelans,
06:06not just here, but those who understand the importance of the participation of the defense of one's own country in the face of aggression by another who has indeed no business meddling in what the people of Venezuela have said.
06:23I totally encourage the people who wish to join this effort to do so.
06:28And again, encourage the global community to support the people, not just of Venezuela, but other countries who are finding themselves in the target of a country who seems determined to achieve global domination of a different kind,
06:47not financial, not that they had it, but a force of fear and of financial manipulations across the world.

07:08We were speaking to Lisbeth Melendez, international U.S. policy analyst, co-chair of the board of directors, waves ahead of Puerto Rico amid the destabilizing actions of the United States in the region.
07:21And now we are moving to other information, but related as well with Venezuela.
07:26The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, expressed her government support to Venezuela in response to media questions regarding the United States aggression against the region.
07:38During her statement, Zakharova expressed that Russia strongly rejects the threat of the use of force against sovereign states as an instrument of foreign policy and expresses its solidarity with the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
07:53which has the inalienable right to freely determine its political, economic and social path without external pressure in a peaceful environment.
08:02The high Russian official also added, we hope that the countries of Latin America, which by decision of the leaders of the community of Latin American and Caribbean states in 2014, proclaim the continent as a zone of peace, live and prosper without conflict or armed interference.
08:20Force intervention practices and color revolutions methods must remain in the past forever.
08:26For his part, the minister of foreign affairs of Venezuela, Ivan Hill welcomed the support of the Russian government and reiterated Venezuela's right to decide its own destiny without external pressure.
08:42In his response, Hill said, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro-Moros, we appreciate the firm statement of the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova,
08:52in relation to the recent deployment of the United States Navy in the Caribbean Sea.
08:57The presence of nuclear submarines off our coasts represents an unacceptable threat to the sovereignty of Venezuela and the peace in our region.
09:07The Venezuelan foreign minister also added, we reiterate that Venezuela has the inalienable right to decide its own destiny without external pressures.
09:16We appreciate Russia's support, which reaffirms its commitment to the defense of our sovereignty and principles and our territorial integrity.
09:25Hill's statements concluded by saying that it is fundamental that Latin America remains a zone of peace, free of forced interventions and conflicts.
09:34International solidarity is key to ensuring a stable and prosperous future for all the peoples of the region.

10:09The Brazilian government has activated a reciprocity law in response to the United States' imposition of 50% tariffs on Brazilian products.
10:17In response to the imposition of taxes, the Foreign Trade Chamber launched a consultation to evaluate the application of the economic reciprocity project.
10:26Previously, President Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva announced that his government intends to open new import markets.
10:32To this end, the president spoke with leaders from China, Russia and India to explore alternatives that would benefit countries affected by the US trade war.
10:42And in Brazil, as far right former President Bolsonaro's judgment day approaches, all eyes turn to the five Supreme Court justices who will rule on his case.
10:57Our correspondent Brian Mir has more.
10:59On September 2nd, the first working group of the Brazilian Supreme Court will start its final deliberations in the case against ex-president Jair Bolsonaro and seven of his cronies for plotting to enact a military coup.
11:12The group is made up of five justices, and a unanimous decision would be final.
11:17Although conviction seems imminent, some people are worried that Justice Luis Fux will attempt to stall the procedure, as he has done before, buying time for the opposition by pushing it into the new year.
11:28I will resolve myself to analyze this better in the post-hearing space.

13:08If ruled guilty, the far-right former president is facing a prison sentence of up to 44 years.

13:19In other information, the Argentine government is facing another backlash following the recent corruption scandal during a campaign event in Corrientes.
13:28Karina Millay was expelled.
13:30Citizens rejected the Argentine president's sister and the officials who accompanied her.
13:35They carried flags and signs denouncing corruption, and the secretary general of the presidency, Karina Millay,
13:41was in a caravan with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martin Menem,
13:45celebrating a provincial campaign in the city of Corrientes ahead of next Sunday's legislative elections in Buenos Aires.
13:52Residents attacked the officials, causing them to flee in their van.
14:02In Haiti, at least 243,000 students have been affected by school closures as a result of the criminal group's violence.
14:10Authorities report that some educational centers were occupied by armed groups and others by displaced persons,
14:16leading to school dropouts.
14:18According to the educational authorities, the number of school days was reduced to 186,
14:23creating panic and uncertainty about the future of the students.
14:27The new 2025-2026 school year was expected to begin in September.

15:56Territories bordered in Ukraine and the Crimean Peninsula denounced Ukraine's constant military incursions with drones,

16:06Also, the Russian government declared that more than 12,000 Ukrainian soldiers are escaping from the Kyiv regime's forces every month.
16:20Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Sakharova pointed out that in July approximately 17,000 criminal cases were filed in Ukraine against deserters.
16:31Sakharova mentioned that since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine,

16:41The spokesperson also explained that the Ukrainian society is resisting force recruitment,

19:26The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, UNRWA,
19:32warned that Israel's escalating plan for the Gaza Strip will lead to more forced displacement.
19:37The organization denounced that Israel's expansionist actions will affect around 1 million people.
19:42It also warned that Israel's control measures expose more Gazans to catastrophic situations
19:49and famine due to restricted humanitarian aid entering the coastal enclave.
19:54Previously, all members of the United Nations Security Council except the United States
19:59issued a statement calling for an immediate ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid.
20:04The statement also called on Israel to revoke its total control order in Gaza.
20:09Palestinian health authorities also confirmed that more than 70 civilians were killed in the last 24 hours
20:19as part of Israel's ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
20:22Another 22 civilians lost their lives and 203 were injured while attempting to receive humanitarian aid,
20:30which highlights the serious risk they face.
20:32Hospital records show that more than 317 people have died from starvation and malnutrition,
20:38including 121 children.
20:41Furthermore, a statement details that since Israel resumed its aggressions on March 18th,
20:47more than 11,000 people have died and another 47,225 have been injured.
20:58On Friday, the Foreign Minister of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, announced that the country is cutting all economic and trade ties with Israel
21:05and closing its airspace to Israel aircraft.
21:08Speaking at an extraordinary session of the Turkish parliament on Gaza on Friday,
21:13Fidan condemned the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave and emphasized the unacceptability of Israel's disregard for international law
21:21in conducting its military operations against civilians in the Strip.
21:25In this context, he announced a series of measures adopted by Turkey in response to the atrocities committed in the enclave.

23:16The announcement was made by the State Department ahead of the upcoming annual session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
23:24The decision is part of a series of U.S. sanctions against the West Asian nation and its officials in order not to recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state.
