00:00Deputies were called after somebody spotted several deer stranded in the middle of this semi-frozen lake.
00:08Here they all are, all three of them, and they appear to be a mother and two fawns.
00:12They're about 200 yards from shore right here, and really there's no way for the deputies to reach them, but they do have a plan.
00:21The deputies launch a drone, and their strategy is to use the drone to corral the deer back to dry land, and it seems to work.
00:30Two of the deer begin swimming back to shore. The first one hops onto dry land, no problem.
00:36Not so easy for the second one. It looks like this deer is completely exhausted, but fortunately, that deer makes it back up as well.
00:45But then there's still one more deer stuck in the middle of the lake, and she is refusing to budge.
00:51They lower the drone, which starts buzzing right over the deer's head, and it seems to be working.
00:56She begins sort of doggy paddling or deer paddling, in her case, through the ice, finally making it back to shore.
01:04And, you know, this is one of those things where you want to get in the water. It is just too far.
01:08That's a minute until you can't breathe.
01:11Yeah, and you could see, obviously, the deer just are seizing up, almost quitting.
01:16That was pretty wise, though, to put something above them to spook them to safety.
01:19Okay?
