On Tuesday, Andrew Giuliani, head of the White House FIFA Task Force, was asked about funding for 2026 World Cup host committees and the Trump Administration's focus on law enforcement.
00:00Good to see you. Good to see you. Good. Our meeting was not quite as long as the cabinet meeting. We were only three hours today, so we were brief. It was just a coincidence, right? That's exactly right. That's exactly right. Is this your first time seeing everyone all at once? No, we had seen the host committees before, but this is the first time since the Club World Cup ended up about a month and a half ago. So I think it was a great opportunity to really lay out kind of the framework for the $625 million that's going on.
00:30to these host committees and how they can apply for the reimbursement money. I think one of the keys, and I think this is something that President Trump and Secretary Noem has stressed on this, is we want to make sure that this money is actually accountable and it's going to law enforcement. And thankfully, that's what we heard from a lot of the host committee CEOs, that what they actually applied for, what they actually represented to Congress and what they represented to White House, OMB, and the DHS, that that is their plan. We're, of course, going to check the receipts and make sure that it actually is going on.
01:00We're going to law enforcement funding very, very key and a top priority with regard to the World Cup.
