00:00Kobe Meynou is open to leaving Manchester United in the final five days of the summer transfer window.
00:06The 20-year-old has not featured in United's opening two matches of the new Premier League campaign
00:11and is feeling disenchanted with his reduced role under Ruben Amarim since the Portuguese head coach arrived.
00:19Meynou is predominantly featured as a substitute.
00:21He's had a couple of memorable contributions from the bench, mainly in the Europa League last season,
00:26but he's not played a single second in the Premier League so far this campaign in the defeat to Arsenal and the draw with Fulham.
00:35It begs the long-term question over Meynou's role at Manchester United.
00:40Is he even suited to the new system as either a central midfielder or an attacking midfielder?
00:45And Meynou has been locked in contract talks as well as United over the past calendar year.
00:50He only signed a new deal back in February 2023. That was a month after he made his debut for United.
00:57And since then, he's scored in an FA Cup final. He started for England in a European Championship final.
01:03And he still paid the same £20,000 a week that he got just after his United debut back in 2023.
01:10So Meynou at the moment is considering his options.
01:13He feels like he's undervalued by Manchester United, both in terms of his contract and the role that he plays.
01:19He wants to be playing regular football at this moment in time.
01:22United's sources insist that they're not actively looking to push Meynou out of the club,
01:26but it's understood that they would listen to any offers for the academy graduate between now and deadline day.
01:32Meynou, as an academy graduate, any fee received would count as pure profit from a financial perspective.
01:38So there is a slight incentive there for United to sell him.
01:41Although it does beg the question, why would you sell a player of such immense talent given the untapped potential he's got
01:47and how much more he can offer this Manchester United side?
01:51Meynou is considering his options.
01:53It's believed that United rejected an inquiry of £70 million from Chelsea back in January.
01:59But Meynou could leave for as little as £45 or even maybe less than that in the final few days of the transfer window.
02:05So it's a really sorry situation.
02:08You know, Meynou just doesn't have a role to play at Man Utd right now under Ruben Amarim.
02:13The question, of course, is who's got a longer term future at the club?
02:16Is it Meynou or is it the manager?
02:18You've got to make a real tough decision there.
02:20United, of course, are trying to transfer to the greater benefit of the club rather than for the head coach themselves.
02:25They understand that that can change.
02:27That's why they're trying to buy players who are future-proofed regardless of the change of tactics.
02:32And maybe that's the same with Meynou.
02:34What is his role long term?
02:35Where does he fit in?
02:36Are United better getting the money in for him?
02:38Like we said, would be pure profit and could be reinvested elsewhere.
02:41Or is it better for them to keep Kobi Meynou around?
02:44Like we said, he needs to see some evidence of why he should stay.
02:49He's not playing in the Premier League this season.
02:50The contract talks have stalled.
02:52And right now, it's very difficult to see a positive solution with this one.
02:57Kobi Meynou attracting serious interest from several clubs.
03:01At the moment in time, United insist they are not actively looking to sell him.
03:04But without a new contract on the horizon, without any seconds in the Premier League this season,
03:10Kobi Meynou's future at Manchester United hangs in the balance.
03:13And he could leave the club before deadline day.
