00:00Manchester United are exploring the possibility of a summer move for Brentford ace Brian Mbwemo.
00:07United are already expected to conclude a deal for Matthias Cunha in the coming days following the conclusion of the Premier League campaign.
00:17Ruben Amarim is hoping to add Premier League experience to his squad this summer.
00:22He wants players with the athleticism that has been missing from his squad for most of the season.
00:27They finished 15th in the Premier League and, of course, missed out on European football with their defeat in the Europa League final.
00:33United could play as few as 40 competitive matches next season.
00:37They played 60 in the campaign that's just been.
00:40And, of course, United's best form was in Europe.
00:42Well, now they've only got domestic matters to focus on for the season ahead.
00:47And that's where United have had their downfall under Ruben Amarim.
00:50So he wants to add players who are proven in the Premier League as much as possible this summer.
00:54And Mbwemo is one of those players who is certainly of interest to the club.
00:59The issue for United is they're not the only ones who want him.
01:01Newcastle also are chasing his signature.
01:05Brentford admit that they might have to sell him this summer.
01:07They are open to offers for Brian Mbwemo.
01:10He has entered the final year of his contract at the GTEC Community Stadium,
01:14although Brentford do also have the option to extend that by an additional year.
01:18What that means is if Brentford do want to sell Brian Mbwemo,
01:22they've either got to do so this summer or next summer, really,
01:25rather than risk losing him on a free.
01:28The expectation is that he'll go for around £50 million to £60 million.
01:33That isn't out of the question for United whatsoever.
01:36They are going to be heavily focused on player sales this summer.
01:40Just about every first-team player has their price and will be not allowed to leave,
01:45but they will entertain offers for them.
01:47You expect there to be a massive overhaul in attack.
01:50We already knew that Sancho, Rashford and Anthony would all leave the club.
01:53It has now, of course, been revealed that Alejandro Garnacho will be allowed to leave as well
01:59after his disappointing reaction to being left out of the Europa League starting line-up.
02:04So, Cunha deal is close.
02:06That should be completed relatively soon, really.
02:09There's no issues there.
02:10He's very much sold on the project at Old Trafford.
02:13And, you know, he's got a £62.5 million release clause in his Wolves deal.
02:16So, United believe that is, you know, a fair deal for someone who is proven in the Premier League,
02:21like we said.
02:22Someone who's got the personality and the ability to deal with the pressure at Old Trafford.
02:27And they want to add another attacker midfielder as well, if possible.
02:31Eberechi Eze, the Crystal Palace FA Cup hero, is another player who appeals to them.
02:36But right now, Cunha and Mbwemo are the two preferred targets for those attacker midfield roles.
02:41And, of course, United would also like to add a striker.
02:43Liam de Lapp is, you know, the top target in terms of that £30 million release clause after Ipswich's relegation from the top flight.
02:51United also have, you know, a passing interest in the lack of Jokerez and Victor Osserman.
02:56Hard to see how they complete those deals, though.
02:58It's going to be very difficult to convince them both to move to Old Trafford.
