Changes that will move children with autism off the National Disability Insurance Scheme have been labelled a difficult decision by the PM, as Health Services Union secretary Lloyd Williams says the disability support workforce is in crisis.

00:00More than half of the disability support workforce is contemplating leaving the sector and the
00:06primary drivers of that is poor working conditions and low pay.
00:11So today together with employers we are launching a pledge to work with the government and to
00:19call on the government to do more to support the NDIS workforce.
00:24We cannot have an effective NDIS and a reformed NDIS without dealing with the systemic workforce
00:32issues that have plagued the NDIS workforce since its inception.
