00:00Lewis Gibson, any concern or just not worth having him involved tonight?
00:04No, just weren't involving him.
00:06You could see him limping a bit in the game, couldn't you, at the weekend.
00:09Ben was the same, to be fair.
00:10Ben got a nasty dead leg, but it's gradually eased,
00:14so he was fit enough for the bench today.
00:17He started well, so you want to get him back on Saturday.
00:20Yeah, Lewis has been good.
00:22Yeah, I'm not concerned about Lewis.
00:27Dobbin, where do you see him playing?
00:29Anywhere across the front, and then it depends on the state of the game.
00:34He could play wide. I like him in those areas where you saw him today.
00:38I think you can get him involved more.
00:41But also, he gives us that option.
00:43So, say, when Wrexham scored and you're chasing the game,
00:45then Thierry's iron-wide on one side and Lewis on the other side,
00:48and you've got bodies in the box.
00:50So, it's all about that.
00:51It gives us so much variation because he can play the both positions.
00:58So, yeah, he'd be a really valuable player for us all.
01:01You can see his quality kind of the way he takes the ball in.
01:03He's quick, he's sharp.
01:06Listen, that's just his first game.
01:07We sort of set up in a way to give him the freedom today,
01:10because he's not been a part of anything we've done tactically.
01:12Obviously, we had a huge game where the lads were recovering the last two days from that.
01:17So, there's been very little prep for this other than yesterday morning.
01:21And with Lewis being fresh in the building, we just wanted to set up in a way as well that gave him
01:29the best chance to go and enjoy himself and express himself.
01:32I bet he would have loved to get McOutner really, the way he was linking up with Devine and Jefferson.
01:35You said they're all friends and stuff, they know each other.
01:37Yeah.
01:37It looked like a good thing.
01:39Yeah, they were good.
01:40Listen, I could have, yeah.
01:43There's no way I'm going to keep him on the pitch with how little he's done.
01:47So, like I said, these next three or four weeks are going to be big for us and him,
01:54to make sure we get him up to speed as quick as possible.
01:58The work we're doing training in this international break will be big,
02:01and then how we're gradually giving him more minutes.
02:04Because the thing is, now in the league games as well, you're making decisions to win the game.
02:10So, sometimes it'll suit Lewis and where he is in his progression to get fitter.
02:17And other times, we're going to have to make sure that we're topping up if he doesn't get enough.
02:21Or, you know, always have it in the back of your mind if he's starting a game,
02:25that he'll not be ready to finish it.
02:26Yeah, I think you said Theo Carroll was ill at Barrow.
02:29Do you see tonight why he's caught your eye?
02:31Why you've given the contracts for that length of time?
02:33Yeah, listen, he's got loads to learn.
02:34I'm not being harsh, he's got loads to learn and loads to improve at.
02:39But he's got a great attitude and he wants to do well.
02:43I think, probably his strength, the big thing he does is how he receives the ball for the goal.
02:48You see where he received it and how natural it is when he takes that ball.
02:50That's probably his biggest attribute.
02:58Yeah, he's 18, he's growing into the group.
03:02You've been honest about the academy, you wouldn't play tonight if you didn't think there was something there, would you?
03:05Yeah, no, you've got to deserve it.
03:09I mean, I've always given a big club I've been at, debuts in the academies,
03:13but I felt they'd been good enough, do you know what I mean?
03:16And you can't, then there's others who you think are good enough but they may not be
03:23psychological there or grown up enough socially ready to go and you could be doing them a bit of damage
03:27if you're, you know, overexerting them and giving them that challenge.
03:31It's way too much for them at that moment in time but he's got a good head on his shoulders,
03:36you know, a good family comes in, trains hard.
03:40Yeah, and I think you can see today, it is a good challenge.
03:44It is a challenge, like I said, he's not quite at that level yet but
03:48that's how we're going to try and get him there.
03:49Yeah, transfer-wise, do you think you're really close to having a very good summer,
03:53you'd be really pleased to get one or two more?
03:55Yeah, yeah, like I said, I've been delighted with what we've done.
03:59We've worked really, really hard from, yeah, when the last window shut in January, really.
04:07Yeah, to do what we've done but we've got to continue, like I said, until that last,
04:11till one minute past seven, we've got to keep pushing and trying to
04:16leave ourselves in the best position we can.
04:17Can you tell us what position specifically you want?
04:20No, but again, how do you not know that?
04:23And a striker?
04:23Yeah.
04:24Midfielder?
04:25Potentially.
