Burnley FC Writer Matt Scrafton delivers his verdict on the 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Derby County.
Transcript
00:00We've just finished here at Turf Moor where Burnley have secured their spot in the third round of the Carabao Cup with a late 2-1 win against Derby County. In truth it wasn't the best game, a bit stodgy, typical sort of John Eustace set up from Derby, very hard to break through and break down, looked like the game was destined for a good head to penalties.
00:24We've got Mike Trezor of all people off the bench in the 78th minute, provides that one moment of quality the game was lacking really, super through ball, really clever run from Oliver Son as well, he lectured onto it and flies past the keeper in the 91st minute.
00:40Before that, and Ramsey had given Burnley the perfect start, scored after 4 minutes, really good moment for him on a personal level, obviously he's been out for a long, long time, this was his first start at home in well over a year and a half I think it is.
00:55But Derby grew into the game, Burnley didn't really capitalise on it, didn't really build on that, Derby got back in, got back level and from then on it was not much of a muchness to be honest, not a great deal happened and as I said it looked like it was heading for penalties.
01:13A lot of players, Burnley playing, who haven't played running minutes and not told to be honest, a lot of rusty performances out there, but yeah, one Mr Trezor pops up at the death to win it, well not win it, but set it up for Son to win it right at the death.
