00:00A heavy defeat for Leeds United away at Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium,
00:06but not a season-defining loss, according to head coach Daniel Farker in his post-match comments.
00:16When reflecting on the scoreline itself, it does look like a damaging defeat for Leeds.
00:21Losing by five goals to nil against anyone is not a good look,
00:25but I think you have to give the side some credit.
00:28They did have their moments in the first half before the game got away from them.
00:33And Arsenal, of course, are just a very, very good side at this level of the Premier League.
00:37And so, as Farker made clear, this game won't define their season.
00:42Just because they've lost 5-0 in this game doesn't mean that they won't stay up
00:45and they won't be able to win other games.
00:47They'd be Everton in their opening game of the season at Elland Road.
00:50So, there's still lots to be positive for from a Leeds perspective,
00:54but that defeat they'll have to bounce back from quickly as they go into their next game.
00:59But that's no easier against Newcastle United at Elland Road.
01:03But firstly, let's hear from Daniel Farker and, of course, Mikel Arteta as well,
01:08following the full-time whistle at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
01:12Yes, tough night for us.
01:16There is no doubt I would have preferred to win this game and to be top of the table league leaders.
01:22Anyhow, right now, Arsenal is in this position.
01:26And we are well aware that we are newly promoted side and are fighting to win, in the end, 38 points.
01:32Nights like this are not season-defining for us.
01:36It was always a difficult game.
01:39First home game for Man United.
01:41Of course, you wish to have this fixture, perhaps, after a Champions League game.
01:44No, first home game.
01:46Without our captain, without Ysna Badu, they are on the back of an important win for them away at Man United.
01:53All the new signings presented before kick-off, the whole stadium on it, was always a tough night for us.
01:58I think you could feel it in the first 10-15 minutes.
02:01They were pretty, pretty dominant.
02:02We were impressed, not that confident with the ball, but we survived the spirit.
02:06And grew into the game.
02:07And I think then, more and more, we were also taking part in this game.
02:12Had also our situations in the first 30 minutes.
02:14Probably the best chance in the whole game was the header of Pascal Sturik.
02:18Yeah, top save from their goalkeeper.
02:20And then, of course, if you play against Arsenal, you have to defend the set-pieces better.
02:24A bit annoyed that we conceded two set-pieces two times.
02:28Timbae in between my two strongest headers.
02:30So, would have wished for a bit more awareness level.
02:36But it's also like, when you have a night like this, Arsenal, five shots on target, five goals.
02:42If they are that effective, it's always a bit difficult.
02:46So, a bit annoyed that we conceded these two set-pieces.
02:48Also, two goals and two times at a time.
02:52After a promising win of the ball, we underestimated two times.
02:56Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was certainly encouraged by his side's output during the match.
03:02Great.
03:04Exactly how we wanted to start the first game.
03:07Yeah, we won in a really convincing way.
03:10You could sense something special in the atmosphere already before the match.
03:14And I think we have to be very proud of the way we played, the way we dominated the game.
03:19Not conceding any shots almost and the clean sheet.
03:23And on top of that, a lot of good moments.
03:25Victor scoring his first two goals for the club.
03:28Thrilled and delighted for Jurjen.
03:30After a long time injuring his ankle and the hours that he's put in with all the physios and the medical department.
03:35He scored two goals at the Emirates.
03:37Very special.
03:39And then Moskett making his debut as well for the club.
03:42And then one of the highlights, without any question of a doubt, Max coming in at 15, making his debut and winning a penalty.
03:52So, very proud.
03:53As mentioned, Leeds next faced Newcastle United in the Premier League at Elland Road.
03:59And that in itself will not be an easy test at all for Daniel Farker's side.
04:03Newcastle, yes, they haven't won a game yet.
04:06But they've displayed just what they're capable of against Aston Villa.
04:10Drawing 0-0 in a game they probably should have won.
04:12And against the reigning champions Liverpool in a game they also probably should have won.
04:16Despite losing at St James' Park.
04:19So, it's another tough test to come for Leeds United before the international break.
04:24The first international break of the season.
04:27Leeds will go into it.
04:29Obviously damaged by the Arsenal result.
04:31But encouraged by the performance that they put on at home against Everton in their opening match of the season.
04:36For Daniel Farker's side though, they just need to keep picking up points wherever they can throughout the campaign.
