The Eye Creatures (also known as Attack of the Eye Creatures, or Attack of the the Eye Creatures from a production error) is a 1965 science-fiction film about an invasion of an unnamed American countryside by a flying saucer and its silent, shambling alien occupants. While the military ineptly attempts to stop the invasion, a group of young people, whose reports to the local police are dismissed as pranks or wild imagination, struggle to defend themselves against the menacing monsters.Credits

00:00:00I
00:00:30Come in, General.
00:00:36May I see your credentials?
00:00:40Sure.
00:00:44Yacht has the key.
00:00:46Yes, it arrived by Specialty.
00:00:48Yes, it arrived by Specialty.
00:00:51Yes, it arrived by Specialty.
00:00:54Yes, it arrived by Specialty.
00:00:57It's late this afternoon.
00:01:27Here's your receipt.
00:01:33I don't need to remind you of the necessity for absolute security, Army General.
00:01:38No.
00:01:40I realize that civilization itself may depend on it.
00:01:44Good luck.
00:01:46Sergeant, send that Lieutenant Robertson from Security Sector 3 in here.
00:02:16You're welcome to the subject of the system.
00:02:19I'm sure you've got to make up.
00:02:22You're welcome.
00:02:24We see you in the next day in the future.
00:02:28You're welcome.
00:02:30TAKE THE UPONROW
00:02:31We are waiting for you.
00:02:32You're welcome.
00:02:33I think this is a good thing.
00:02:34You're welcome.
00:02:35You're welcome.
00:02:36I'm sorry.
00:02:37They're all welcome.
00:02:38Today, thanks for being here.
00:02:39Good luck.
00:02:41How can I do this?
00:02:42Let's go.
00:03:12Sir, Lieutenant Robertson, reporting authority.
00:03:14Sit down, Lieutenant. Relax.
00:03:22As you know, Robertson, your Sector 3 has not been cleared for receipt of materials on project visitors.
00:03:28So I'll have to give you a verbal briefing for relay to Colonel Harrison.
00:03:32I ask that you not take notes, but that you absorb everything you see and hear.
00:03:37Now, due to certain events, which I'm not at liberty to disclose, we feel that Sector 3 will be the probable place for the next contact.
00:03:46Now, pay close attention to the information recorded on this film.
00:03:53It was prepared by L's section of our UFO division.
00:04:26The ship then set a low-altitude course to the east at an extremely low rate of speed.
00:04:37The official evaluation of headquarters command is that the space vehicle is probably manned, will affect the surface landing, and must be presumed to be unfriendly.
00:04:46It is imperative that absolutely no public information be released at this time to prevent the probable worldwide panic.
00:04:54Infrared scanners lost contact with the vehicle over the central United States in the general area of Security Sector 6.
00:05:00Infrared scanners lost contact with the vehicle over the central United States in the general area of Security Sector 6.
00:05:06Any questions?
00:05:07All right, Lieutenant, your transportation's waiting.
00:05:09You should be back in your sector within an hour.
00:05:10Oh, Lieutenant, you tell Colonel Harrison that I want those infrared scanners manned every minute, 24 hours a day, and that's an order.
00:05:11Yes, sir.
00:05:12Take off.
00:05:13Got anything on the infrared scope?
00:05:36Yep, moving body.
00:05:39Get it on the scanner.
00:05:40Ain't science wonderful?
00:06:01I only found out about it after I got in the Air Force.
00:06:05Go to close stairs.
00:06:07Yes, sir, Sergeant.
00:06:10Harold?
00:06:15Harold?
00:06:16Huh?
00:06:17Harold, somehow I had the feeling that, that, oh, that we're being watched.
00:06:23Sure we are, but all the kids near the car.
00:06:25Later on, we may watch them for a while.
00:06:27Right now, let's get back to my new home, then.
00:06:30But, Harold, I just know they're watching us.
00:06:33Good.
00:06:34Now that's over.
00:06:35Let's go back.
00:06:36Wait, the feeling I have is like, like someone out there is watching it.
00:06:44Just your imagination, Pussycat. There's no one here but us chickens.
00:06:47Oh, I truly admire science.
00:06:56All right, Sergeant, what's up?
00:06:58Nothing, sir. Just testing the infrared equipment.
00:07:01That means you're playing Pee-Pee Tom again, right?
00:07:04Right, sir.
00:07:06Colbert, how many times have you been busted for pulling shenanigans just like that?
00:07:10You mean this year, sir?
00:07:11Altogether.
00:07:15Three times, sir.
00:07:17We're here for a reason.
00:07:19A reason important to the national security, and don't ever forget it.
00:07:23No, sir.
00:07:23No, sir.
00:07:25We're here to watch the skies and not the skyline, right?
00:07:28Right, sir.
00:07:28You're ever so right, sir.
00:07:30Bad things are going on up there, right?
00:07:33Right.
00:07:34What kind of thing, sir?
00:07:37Never you mind.
00:07:38You're here to watch the sky and not the skyline.
00:07:42Right?
00:07:42Oh, boy, are you ever right, sir?
00:07:43Right, sir.
00:07:44Now that that's established, let's take a look and see how the infrared scanners work.
00:07:47Oh, Harold.
00:08:00How about that, pussy kitty?
00:08:03Yeah.
00:08:04How about that?
00:08:07Sir.
00:08:08I think I may make Harold my hero.
00:08:17Well, back to business.
00:08:20I have just got to look that girl up when I get into town.
00:08:23How will you find her?
00:08:24I'd recognize her eyes.
00:08:26Any place.
00:08:28I'll clear you, Corporal.
00:08:29Well, the place most of these kids end up is...
00:08:30Uh, the posties.
00:08:31Of course not.
00:08:33They're good kids.
00:08:34They end up at the terrace at the lake.
00:08:37Not that I go to places like that myself.
00:08:40Oh, heaven forbid.
00:08:42But I've heard of them.
00:08:44Whatever the lieutenant says, sir.
00:08:46I'm with him, sir.
00:08:48Ah, will there be anything else?
00:09:13Right now, I can't afford what I'm thinking.
00:09:15I'm sure of that.
00:09:17And I've got news for you.
00:09:18You never will.
00:09:20Say, there is one thing.
00:09:23I was wondering if you could tell me how to...
00:09:26Well, I can't read my own writing here, let's see.
00:09:30Could you tell me how to get to...
00:09:33first base with you tonight?
00:09:40Well, at least I tried.
00:09:42Trying's all we ever do, ever since we hit this town.
00:09:45We should have never come here in the first place.
00:09:47Guess the guy's got to be a native in this burg
00:09:49before Dan will give him a break.
00:09:50Don't give me that.
00:09:51Let's go home.
00:09:52I'm bushed.
00:09:53At least it's country, man.
00:09:54We move slow here.
00:09:56I'll tell you, I got a tip that this town's a cinch for a quick buck.
00:10:01So all we have to do is get some kind of pitch going at the fairground.
00:10:04Now, though, we have to worry about finding the right thing.
00:10:06Skip it.
00:10:07I'm going to bed.
00:10:07We'll pull out in the morning.
00:10:10Well, I'm motive for action tonight.
00:10:12We'll take a drive and see what I can pick up.
00:10:14Fat chance.
00:10:15Remember, the car is half mine, so drive carefully.
00:10:18You're half the front seat.
00:10:19I won't be using your half much tonight.
00:10:21Oh, big lover.
00:10:24Oh, no.
00:10:25No action.
00:10:26Want to lift back to the boarding house?
00:10:27No, I want to walk off my great expectations.
00:10:31I wouldn't want to hold back the wheels of progress.
00:10:33I think I've been the progress of a big wheel.
00:11:03How about that, baby?
00:11:14Oh, no.
00:11:15When you kiss me, I just see explosions.
00:11:20You know what?
00:11:22When he kisses her, I see explosions, too.
00:11:25Come on, come on.
00:11:26Stop talking.
00:11:27Let's watch.
00:11:28Let's watch.
00:11:33Let's watch.
00:12:03What was that about the old Bailey house?
00:12:13Sure, dead sure.
00:12:15It was probably a plane going down.
00:12:17Anything could happen to these crazy electrical stores you'd have.
00:12:19That's it.
00:12:20Flow lightning, what else?
00:12:22I mean, you still believe the old Bailey house is harmed.
00:12:25Maybe the ghosts have come back.
00:12:27That old place was built before the Civil War.
00:12:29Could be.
00:12:30Well, how's the recruiting coming along, Lieutenant?
00:12:33Not bad.
00:12:35Hey, why don't you, uh, Shanghai a couple of them?
00:12:38Are you kidding?
00:12:39Wonder what they're jabbering about?
00:12:45I don't see any girls around, so what's keeping you, Romeo, so busy?
00:12:49Jim just saw a spaceship.
00:12:50Only one.
00:12:51Well, with all the beer he drank, you'd think he'd see at least six, and in different colors.
00:12:56This one was green.
00:12:57Oh, I always preferred the yellow ones myself.
00:13:01Thanks.
00:13:02Speaking of, uh, the yellow ones, why don't y'all go over and talk to that Air Force recruiting
00:13:06officer?
00:13:08So, that's what he is.
00:13:09I've seen him hanging around here.
00:13:11That's what he says he is.
00:13:12Uh, the, uh, boys were just kidding about being a spaceship, Lieutenant.
00:13:18Everyone knows there's no such thing.
00:13:20How many times do we have to deny it before people have believed us?
00:13:23Well, excuse me, fly boy.
00:13:27Better watch out.
00:13:28The way things are going, he may be giving some of you orders next month.
00:13:31Man, I'm booked for dragging me in feet first.
00:13:33How'd you have a date with Susan for me?
00:13:35I do.
00:13:35I'm picking her up at 9.30.
00:13:36She's, uh, fussing with a new dress.
00:13:39But it's all we know you're waiting for an old man to get out of the house.
00:13:41What kind of dress takes that long to get into?
00:13:44I've got to admit, Susan's got to lie to the right things and put me to the right places.
00:13:48Yeah.
00:13:48And they're all mine.
00:13:50I'll see you guys later.
00:13:51Right, we'll see you.
00:14:11Another carload of them blasted smooches on my property.
00:14:20I'll get the law after them.
00:14:22A little turd.
00:14:22I'll stop paying for the right spots.
00:14:27Mm-hmm.
00:14:30A little turd.
00:14:31I'm sorry.
00:14:32What's next?
00:14:40A little turd.
00:14:41I'll fix them.
00:15:11I'll fix them in the morning.
00:15:18We'll have a party tonight, isn't it?
00:15:24Why not?
00:15:25We're only young ones.
00:15:26Besides, I'm going to show you the moon.
00:15:28The moon I can see anytime.
00:15:31You can.
00:15:32Yes.
00:15:41Hey, whoa.
00:15:44Take it easy.
00:15:46It's not so fast.
00:15:47I'm out of breath.
00:15:49It just proves you love me, that's all.
00:15:51I'm eloping with you tonight.
00:15:53That's proof enough, isn't it?
00:15:55It sure is, seeing how your father hates me.
00:15:57No, it isn't that bad.
00:16:07Coming up here was a great idea.
00:16:09The gang doesn't suspect a thing.
00:16:11And we'll be back before they even miss it.
00:16:13No more sneaking up here to be alone.
00:16:16And no more outsmarting your father.
00:16:18I mean, he is a city attorney.
00:16:20Hey, close your back.
00:16:26That'll make it official.
00:16:28Do you like it?
00:16:29Oh, it's beautiful.
00:16:30It's been tried on.
00:16:31It's bad luck.
00:16:35Come over, wait some time.
00:16:36Okay.
00:16:37Hey, cut those lights.
00:16:41What are they having, a night ball game?
00:16:43Hey, that's not a practication.
00:16:46Turn them off.
00:16:48We are on Old Man Bailey's property,
00:16:50and I don't think the police like it's up here.
00:16:52Yeah, and I can see your father helping me.
00:16:54It's a night of all night.
00:16:56Be careful.
00:16:57I hate to run into Old Man Bailey.
00:17:00I can drive this road blindfolded.
00:17:02You've had enough practice?
00:17:04A lot.
00:17:05But never know.
00:17:14Mike!
00:17:16Mike, we've made it!
00:17:18His last was hit the jackpot!
00:17:20Oh, turn off that light, you bum!
00:17:22Wake up, I said!
00:17:24Mike, we've got it made!
00:17:26We're millionaires!
00:17:27Oh, yeah.
00:17:28Yeah, go to bed!
00:17:30But this is different, it's big!
00:17:32Now look, I'm not trying to give you a pitch, but get this.
00:17:37You and me are gonna put on an exhibition with the first and only truly authentic spaceship!
00:17:47You woke me up to tell me that?
00:17:50Told you it was big, didn't I?
00:17:51Well, I've seen one!
00:17:53Just like all these jokers have been saying.
00:17:56It's big and round, and glows sort of funny-like.
00:17:59And gives off this funny sound like...
00:18:02Roar! Roar!
00:18:05Like that!
00:18:06Oh!
00:18:07Roar! Roar!
00:18:09Like that, huh?
00:18:10Yeah!
00:18:11And it landed over somewhere near that old house that's supposed to be haunted!
00:18:14Great, isn't it?
00:18:28All right.
00:18:30All right.
00:18:31But when I'm rolling in the dough, don't say that I didn't invite you in.
00:18:36Okay.
00:18:37You're invited out.
00:18:40I'll handle it myself.
00:18:42Go on!
00:18:43Go back to sleep!
00:18:45Sleep your life away!
00:18:47Sir?
00:18:48Well, it was!
00:18:50Sir?
00:18:51How is that?
00:18:53Why, are these blasted alarms always at night?
00:18:57About this so-called spaceship of yours.
00:19:00Just where do you think it is?
00:19:02Why are these blasted alarms always at night?
00:19:07It's about this so-called spaceship of yours.
00:19:11Just where do you think it is?
00:19:13From what these kids said, it must be somewhere northeast of town.
00:19:16Well, that checks with the last report we had from the radar station.
00:19:19I assume your man had it on the scope.
00:19:22And we'd better get right out there, sir.
00:19:24The general was pretty sore at us for letting the last one get out of our scope.
00:19:27Army, sir.
00:19:29Army intelligence really scooped us that time.
00:19:31Scoop, did you say?
00:19:32Just the figures.
00:19:33Speech, sir.
00:19:34Well, I hope so.
00:19:36Lieutenant, there's just one thing I want to caution you about.
00:19:39Yes, sir.
00:19:40In civilian life, you were a publicity man.
00:19:42What are you getting at, sir?
00:19:44Just this.
00:19:45Our job is to prevent a possible nationwide panic by keeping the information from the public.
00:19:50I figured a public use is to prevent a possible nationwide panic by keeping the information from the public.
00:19:57I figured a public information officer is about the last thing we need.
00:20:02I didn't request this assignment, sir.
00:20:04I know that.
00:20:05But get this straight, Robertson.
00:20:07If you leave one word of any of this to your cronies, I'll have you court-martialed and shot.
00:20:13Do I make myself clear?
00:20:15Yes, sir.
00:20:16Yes, indeed, sir.
00:20:17Good.
00:20:18Now go down the hall and get your men.
00:20:22And tell them to load their weapons.
00:20:48That gratitude, I'll get them yet.
00:20:50You can hardly see the road.
00:20:52We want to get there in one piece.
00:20:54Three flags.
00:20:55I think it's only about a half a mile to the highway.
00:20:56We'll make it.
00:20:57Nothing to be afraid of.
00:20:58What was it?
00:20:59I don't know.
00:21:00It happened so fast.
00:21:01I didn't even see it.
00:21:02Hey, wait for me.
00:21:03Dad, what have we done?
00:21:04It's the party we've...
00:21:05Come on.
00:21:06Give me a hand.
00:21:07I'll send him to the hospital.
00:21:24What have we done?
00:21:26It's a party we...
00:21:28Come on, give me a hand.
00:21:30Let's take it to the hospital.
00:21:40What is it?
00:21:42I don't know.
00:21:44Is it still alive?
00:21:46Whatever it is, I killed.
00:21:48I think I'm going to be sick.
00:21:52Just stand, take me away from here.
00:22:08What was that?
00:22:12The fire, the thunder must have cut it when we hit that thing.
00:22:14Are we stuck here?
00:22:16Well, we can't drive on it. We're right off the rim and I haven't got a spare.
00:22:19We'll go to the old Bailey house and call the place.
00:22:21That's all we can do.
00:22:27Who is that?
00:22:29The wind, I guess.
00:22:31Come on.
00:22:49Come on.
00:22:51What's the matter?
00:22:53Well, the kids...
00:22:55They say this place is haunted.
00:22:57Look, it may be, but I got a feeling that whatever's in there is a lot safer than what's out here.
00:23:01Hello?
00:23:11Anybody home?
00:23:15the kids. They say this place is haunted. Look, it may be, but I got a feeling that whatever's in
00:23:21there is a lot safer than what's out here. Hello? Anybody home? Holy Sam, we've got no right to be
00:23:33here. I wonder where he keeps his phone. I wonder if he has a phone.
00:23:45Honey, I'd rather do it myself. I'd rather you do it, too. Opening strange doors isn't a thing for a good, clean-living American girl to do.
00:23:57You're right. You can never tell what's on the other side.
00:24:02Hey, Dan. There's the phone on the wall. Oh, thanks. Now, you see, there's nothing to be afraid of. You just keep your wits about you and things begin to take on the proper perspective.
00:24:11Oh, you men. So masterful.
00:24:14I know. You're a very lucky girl to have a guy like me.
00:24:18Keep telling me.
00:24:24Operator, give me the police department. It's an emergency.
00:24:36Hello? My name is Kenyon, Stan Kenyon. I'm out here at the old Bailey place.
00:24:40Yeah, young fella. What's the trouble?
00:24:45Yeah.
00:24:48Yeah.
00:24:50Oh, sure.
00:24:51You've seen some little space men.
00:24:52I know, from another planet.
00:24:58Look, do me a favor.
00:25:01If you see him again,
00:25:02will you, uh, give him my love and
00:25:04tell him to go home?
00:25:09Well,
00:25:10it's Saturday night, all right.
00:25:12That just made it official.
00:25:15He thought I was kidding.
00:25:16Oh, no.
00:25:38Operator.
00:25:39Hello.
00:25:43Hello.
00:25:43Operator.
00:25:48Operator.
00:25:58Operator.
00:26:00The darn phone's dead.
00:26:01I guess the lightning got it.
00:26:05There was something out there that was looking at me.
00:26:08No, but I saw it.
00:26:13What are you doing in my house?
00:26:22You're right.
00:26:23He does look like his face in there.
00:26:24Hi, Mr. Bailey.
00:26:25We hit something with our car, and we came up here to call the police.
00:26:27You were out.
00:26:28The door was open.
00:26:29That don't give you the right to walk in.
00:26:31Who was it you hit?
00:26:32It wasn't a person.
00:26:33It was a thing.
00:26:34Oh, it don't make no difference.
00:26:36It all spells people.
00:26:39And people spells trouble.
00:26:41I knew it.
00:26:42I knew it was going to happen if you kids didn't stay off my property.
00:26:46Yeah.
00:26:48We'll call the police, all right.
00:26:50The phone's dead.
00:26:51That's what you say.
00:26:55Look, we didn't kill anybody.
00:26:57I mean, it wasn't a person.
00:26:58It was a space thing.
00:26:59A monster.
00:27:00I know it sounds crazy.
00:27:04You kids been drinking?
00:27:07No, sir.
00:27:08What's your name, sonny?
00:27:11Stan Canyon.
00:27:12I worked out at Blender's Gas Station.
00:27:13Yeah, I thought I'd seen you before.
00:27:16We didn't hurt anything, human.
00:27:18I took...
00:27:18Okay, we'll go.
00:27:20Can you tell your friends they'd better keep off of my property,
00:27:24or they'll get a backside full of rock salt?
00:27:28Yes, sir.
00:27:28Now you get.
00:27:29All right.
00:27:30All right, come on, get.
00:27:31Okay.
00:27:49Hello.
00:27:50Sarah?
00:27:51Tell them to send some cops out here
00:27:53and chase these smooches off of my property.
00:27:56All right.
00:27:58Yeah.
00:27:59See that you do.
00:28:00See that you do.
00:28:30See that you do.
00:29:00Let's go.

00:30:39Let's go.
00:30:40Let's go.
00:30:41Now, can I tell you what it is?
00:30:42Because I don't know what it is.
00:30:43It's stuck under a car.
00:30:45Now listen, Mike.
00:30:46Get a caband come out here.
00:30:48I need your help.
00:30:49Yeah.
00:30:50Well, that's too bad.
00:30:51I'm, I'm going back to sleep.
00:30:53But, Mike, but nothing.
00:30:55Goodbye.
00:30:57Mike, don't hang up.
00:30:58Now listen.
00:30:59Do me just one favor, clean
00:31:02everything out of the refrigerator.
00:31:04The refrigerator?
00:31:06Yeah. What I'm bringing home is perishable.
00:31:08We've got to keep it on ice.
00:31:10Got it, Mike?
00:31:12Including the shells.
00:31:13Pat, my boy, you won't regret it.
00:31:15I swear to you.
00:31:17You do believe me, don't you?
00:31:19I'll be right home with it.
00:31:21Sure. Everything out of the refrigerator.
00:31:23Everything.
00:31:24Got it?
00:31:25I got it! I got it!
00:31:36I got it.
00:32:06What the heck am I doing?
00:32:15Craving your head.
00:32:36I got it.
00:32:43I got it.
00:32:43I got it.
00:32:44I got it.
00:32:45I got it.
00:32:45Oh, my God.
00:33:15Oh, my God.
00:33:45Oh, my God.
00:34:15But I don't think I believe it.
00:34:18What a story.
00:34:19That's the green light our jet pilots have been telling us they've seen.
00:34:24No, you're cooking with gas.
00:34:26Sir.
00:34:27Enough with the jokes, Lieutenant.
00:34:29Those things turn out to be unfriendly.
00:34:31You've got a point there, sir.
00:34:33Shall I drive closer so we can get a better look?
00:34:35No, let's stay right here.
00:34:37Something may be watching us right now.
00:34:40Airmen, get me Guard Headquarters on that shortwave radio.
00:34:43I'm going to get some engineers right out here and see if we can get inside those things.
00:34:48You think we should get some photographers here?
00:34:51Lieutenant, when you've been in the Air Force as long as I have, you'll learn you don't have to think.
00:34:56All you do is follow standard operating procedures.
00:35:00Yes, sir.
00:35:01In this case, SOP calls for engineers, not photographers.
00:35:05Excuse me, sir.
00:35:06How's that the National Guard?
00:35:08Give me that thing.
00:35:09Yeah, come on, let's see what it is.
00:35:33What is it?
00:35:34Space things are libel.
00:35:36What's making that noise?
00:35:37He's banging away at the fender of the car with some kind of a hammer.
00:35:42Oh, let's get out of here.
00:35:43I'm with you.
00:35:51You okay?
00:35:52Yeah.
00:35:53Oh, how much further?
00:35:55Just about another quarter of a mile in the highway.
00:35:57Oh, I wish we had stuck to the main road.
00:35:59These shoes weren't meant for plowed fields.
00:36:01I know, honey, but believe me, it's shorter.
00:36:03Okay?
00:36:07Please go.
00:36:18The thing must have believed you after all.
00:36:20Come on, let's go back there.
00:36:21The police will take care of those things.
00:36:22Okay, now let's have this again.
00:36:50You say you were driving along without your lights?
00:36:55Yes, sir, but that didn't have anything to do with it, see?
00:36:57He just suddenly appeared.
00:36:59Suddenly appeared.
00:37:01From out of the dark.
00:37:03We were really scared, man.
00:37:04I'm glad you guys came along.
00:37:05Yeah, I'll bet you are.
00:37:07Doc, over here.
00:37:08Now, kids, before I take you down to the headquarters, I want you to do something for me, okay?
00:37:15Sure.
00:37:15See this nice little balloon?
00:37:17Well, I want you to blow it up.
00:37:20Balloon?
00:37:21What for?
00:37:21We're going to have a party?
00:37:22Never mind, just blow.
00:37:24Hey, come on, look, we're wasting time now.
00:37:25Aren't you going to do anything about the space, man?
00:37:27It may be a whole invasion.
00:37:28Blow, I said!
00:37:29Man says blow, he means it.
00:37:38The balloon test, eh?
00:37:39Yeah.
00:37:40Did you ever hear such a cock and bull story?
00:37:43Space men, space ship.
00:37:45Wow.
00:37:47In my days, we were content with pink elephants, but kids these days.
00:37:50And tough, the gal says to me, you don't call him human, do you?
00:37:55What do you think about that?
00:37:56Well, what can you expect with all these bad books being written nowadays?
00:38:01Hey, Mr. Detective.
00:38:04I'm finished.
00:38:04Now, can we get going, or shall I throw a little confetti around for you?
00:38:08You know, fella, for someone who's committed a serious crime, you are very anxious to get to the police station.
00:38:14A serious crime?
00:38:16You call killing one of those monsters a crime?
00:38:19Something's weird around here.
00:38:22Mm-hmm.
00:38:23Something or somebody.
00:38:26Come on, let's go.
00:38:35Now, if you'll just read this before you sign it.
00:38:38Look, this is silly.
00:38:39We told you what happened.
00:38:41Now, why don't you do something?
00:38:42That's exactly what we're doing, miss.
00:38:47It's not a statement.
00:38:49It's a confession.
00:38:50Now, look.
00:38:51You admit driving the car, don't you?
00:38:53I told you that.
00:38:54And with the lights off?
00:38:56Right.
00:38:56But that doesn't...
00:38:57Now, look, buddy boy.
00:38:58Whether you realize it or not, driving without your lights and killing the man is against the law in this state.
00:39:05Killing a man?
00:39:07You don't call that thing a man, do you?
00:39:09And I haven't even added in drunk driving yet.
00:39:11But when we get the balloon test back, that's another strike against you.
00:39:15Look, officer.
00:39:15It's my father's city attorney, and I demand that you send for him right away.
00:39:19Wait for that.
00:39:21Well, miss, it so happens that I know your father, and he's already been sent for you.
00:39:25He'll straighten you out, all right.
00:39:28Look, uh, I'm not saying another word.
00:39:30Now, you want to try to beat it out of me, you go ahead.
00:39:33Beat it out of you?
00:39:34It never fails.
00:39:35Try to be nice to a young punk, and next thing you know, you're up on charges of using the third degree.
00:39:40What's this about the third degree?
00:39:42Oh, Daddy, these people are crazy.
00:39:50Stan and I have had a horrible time.
00:39:52Thought you told me you were going out with Bill Moore.
00:39:55Not with this, this roughneck.
00:39:57But don't you want to hear about the monster?
00:39:59I heard that ridiculous story when the sergeant called.
00:40:02Now, listen to me, Susan.
00:40:04If it's humanly possible, I'll get you out of this mess.
00:40:08As for this boy, he can take his medicine.
00:40:10Thanks a lot.
00:40:13They're ready for the identification, sir.
00:40:15We'll be right over.
00:40:16If you'll come with me, we'll make the formal identification.
00:40:22Hello, Mr. Rogers.
00:40:23Wait till you see this thing, and then maybe you'll believe it.
00:40:38Still, I'm trying to guess, sir.
00:40:39Go ahead.
00:40:40We have you surrounded.
00:40:44Come out, and you will not be harmed.
00:40:48I don't believe anybody's in that thing.
00:40:51Probably under remote control.
00:40:54Would you like to take a walk out there in the open and test your theory?
00:40:59Well, no, sir, not especially.
00:41:00Then shut up!
00:41:02And start thinking of a way to explain this thing without throwing the whole nation into complete panic.
00:41:06Yes, sir.
00:41:07I beg your pardon, sir.
00:41:08Maybe if we'd fire a few rounds at it, we'd scare someone out.
00:41:13Anyhow, get some reaction.
00:41:14All right, go ahead.
00:41:16Yes, sir.
00:41:17All right, sir.
00:41:22Get him nowhere.
00:41:25Lieutenant Robertson, get me a volunteer to operate in a settling port.
00:41:29We're going to get inside this thing and see what makes it tick.
00:41:32Yes, sir.
00:41:59Well, I didn't run over this man.
00:42:28I ran over a monster.
00:42:30Are you still on that kick?
00:42:32You see, Mr. Rogers, I didn't exaggerate.
00:42:34Look, Mr. Rogers, sir, I swear, I'm telling the truth.
00:42:39It was a spaceman.
00:42:40I've heard enough of that.
00:42:42I saw it.
00:42:44You know who he is?
00:42:45Well, according to a driver's license we found on him, his name is Carl Fenton.
00:42:50We also found out he lives at 121 Maple Avenue.
00:42:54How does he work?
00:42:55As far as we can discover, he doesn't.
00:42:57He, uh, he and a friend of his kind of just drifted into town about a month ago.
00:43:02A friend?
00:43:03Yeah, a fellow he was living with.
00:43:06We tried to call him to come down and identify the body, but he, uh, well, we didn't get an answer.
00:43:11I see.
00:43:12Can I talk to them alone for a moment?
00:43:14You mean here, sir?
00:43:17At your office.
00:43:18All right.
00:43:18You're lucky in one respect.
00:43:33The man you killed, there's only one person who's interested in the charges against you, and that's his roommate.
00:43:38But, Daddy, I swear to you, if Stan didn't tell anything, it was...
00:43:42Quiet, Susan.
00:43:43At least Stan has the sense to listen.
00:43:46Now, for more, I'll go over and talk to this Carl Fenton's roommate and see what we can do to help Stan.
00:43:50Come on, Susan, I'm taking you home.
00:43:52I won't go unless Stan goes.
00:43:54Don't be foolish.
00:43:55You're not liable.
00:43:56Yes, I am.
00:43:59Stan's lying.
00:44:01I was driving that car.
00:44:02Hey, now, wait a minute.
00:44:05You've covered for me long enough.
00:44:17How much longer, man?
00:44:19We've got a deadline to make.
00:44:21We've almost got it.
00:44:32Hey, look at that.
00:44:35Looks like coming out of a fuse.
00:44:48What the...
00:44:49Looks like this guy exploded over here in the back of the plane.
00:44:54Okay, let's go.
00:44:57What was that?
00:44:58Something blew up.
00:45:02What do you suppose that was?
00:45:08I could care less.
00:45:11You know, something those things, whatever they are.
00:45:13They're smarter than all of us put together.
00:45:16What do you mean?
00:45:17Remember when we saw them banging the wing at the fender of our car?
00:45:20What's so smart about that?
00:45:22Don't you see?
00:45:24They killed that man.
00:45:26And then they dented the fender of my car to make it look like we did.
00:45:29It's FEMA.
00:45:30And we thought they were mad at the car.
00:45:32That's right.
00:45:34Honey, somehow we've got to go back out there and get something,
00:45:37some kind of evidence that they'll believe.
00:45:39Because if we don't, I'm going to jail.
00:45:42But how?
00:45:43They won't let us.
00:45:45I know it.
00:45:58Get it.
00:45:58What are we waiting for?
00:46:05Whatever it was this year, let's get out.
00:46:07Power car out there right away.
00:46:08Yes, sir.
00:46:09Now, what about those two kids?
00:46:12I'll talk a little sense into their heads, sir.
00:46:14It just takes a little teenage psychology.
00:46:16They're gone.
00:46:24They'll fool you.
00:46:24Forget it.
00:46:27So you talk some teenage systems into them, did you?
00:46:30Look, officer, they were scared to death.
00:46:33Don't put this in the record.
00:46:34I'll take the full responsibility.
00:46:35You still here? Well, of course I'm here. Where should I be? I saw your car drive off. Oh, no. If those kids have stolen my car, you know, Mr. Rogers, you said you'd be responsible. I hope you know what you're doing. So do I. So do I.
00:47:05Now, Corporal, if you'd have been looking at your radar instead of that scanner, we wouldn't have let that spaceship slip by us. I'm looking, I'm looking. It's too late. It is kind of late. I wonder if they forgot about us. Just look at the scope, but not too late for that date in town. Okay. I'm looking, I'm looking. But it's kind of dull, though. Blip, blip, blip. Yeah, blip, blip, blip.
00:47:35I could snap on the infrared and take a peek at them kids. And get us court-martialed, you mean? Okay.
00:47:47Uh, snap on the infrared. We'll just take a peek at those kids in the line of business. What else?
00:48:05What do you make of it? I think I have some weird monster film on TV. Nothing as ugly as that could be for real. Oh, no. Have you looked in your mirror lately? Funny. Ha, ha, ha.
00:48:25But it must be near the end of the picture. How can you tell? Well, that searchlight swung by, right? Right. Well, that stupid monster's beginning to stumble. I'll bet you five bucks he falls right off that cliff. Have you seen this picture before?
00:48:38Count Surner. No.
00:48:40I still think you saw that picture before. Snap on a scope before you cost me some more money. Can do, Sergeant. Can do.
00:49:02Blip, blip, blip, blip, blip.
00:49:04Ah, shut up.
00:49:10Please, Dan. I'm worried about taking this car.
00:49:14Compared to everything else, a little car theft doesn't even matter.
00:49:34Well, I know.
00:49:36I'm worried about doing this kind of thing.
00:49:48I'm worried about growing up.
00:49:51насколько I don't know
00:49:53I'm worried about taking this car.
00:49:56I want to remind everybody.
00:49:58You want me to ask everyone?
00:50:00I'm sorry.
00:50:01Don't get too far away, I'm frightened.
00:50:04Don't be afraid, we can't.
00:50:06We, dear friend, you are Supreme Commander in charge of that department.
00:50:31You can't.
00:50:34I'm sorry for a while, I'm sorry for that.
00:50:37I'm sorry, I'm sorry for that, I'm sorry for that.
00:50:40With the police.
00:50:44You're not saying, you've been in trouble!
00:50:47You're not going to be in trouble.
00:50:58This is what I am.
00:51:00The police were all over here, and they didn't find anything.
00:51:03Yeah, I guess you're right.
00:51:04We might as well go on back, unless this whole thing is a dream,
00:51:08which is a polite word for nightmare.
00:51:10Come on.
00:51:30Hey, what is this, a reflex action?
00:51:37It just seems like the natural thing to do out here.
00:51:41Hey, I wonder if any of the gang saw those things.
00:51:44What do you mean?
00:51:45Well, there's a lot of them out here.
00:51:47And if any of them saw it, that would convince the police that we're telling the truth.
00:51:51You want to bet?
00:51:52If the police saw it, they'd say, we've been drinking.
00:51:57You know something?
00:51:58Sometimes I think, no matter how many kids try to tell the police something,
00:52:02they still wouldn't believe it.
00:52:03It's an idea.
00:52:05Let's drive out to the point and see if any of the kids are still there.
00:52:08What do we got to lose?
00:52:20I'm sorry, Stan. I just can't relax.
00:52:23You know what you mean?
00:52:25This would happen tonight if all night or something.
00:52:34I expected to be frightened on my wedding night, but nothing like this.
00:52:40Well, thanks a lot.
00:52:55Well, thanks to the sea.
00:52:56Let's go back.
00:52:57Thanks a lot.
00:52:58Don't go back.
00:52:59Let's go back.
00:53:00Let's go back.
00:53:01I'm gonna show you this.
00:53:02I'll show you this.
00:53:03Let's go back.
00:53:04Let's go back.
00:53:05I'm gonna show you now.
00:53:06We'll show you.
00:53:07I'm gonna show you that guy.
00:53:08This guy I have to go back.
00:53:10You won't show you.
00:53:11That's going back.
00:53:13He's running out.
00:53:15He's running out.
00:53:16You're running out.
00:53:18Oh, Susan, take me away from here, please, please.
00:53:29Don't you see?
00:53:30At last, we've got some evidence.
00:53:31Oh, Lisa.
00:53:33And how are we going to get it to the police station?
00:53:36We'll just have to get somebody to come down here and see us.
00:53:38But who?
00:53:41Hey, remember what your father said?
00:53:42At the police station, he was right about one thing.
00:53:44The one person who'd be interested enough to listen to us is Carl's roommate.
00:53:47We've just got to find him.
00:53:49But where is he?
00:53:50Oh, hey.
00:53:53Wait.
00:53:55One, one, twenty, one, twenty-one Maple Street.
00:53:58That's it.
00:53:58We'll go over there and get him, okay?
00:54:00Okay.
00:54:01Come on.
00:54:02That is, without a doubt, the craziest story I've ever heard.
00:54:06Look, will you just call and check with the police?
00:54:09They've been trying to get you all night, but nobody answered.
00:54:12Thanks to these.
00:54:14When you live with a big mouth like Carl, you've got to have a secret weapon.
00:54:17Oh, please call the police.
00:54:19Please.
00:54:21Come on.
00:54:24Okay.
00:54:25Okay, but if this is some kind of a joke, whatever you say, don't mention our names.
00:54:29If they find out we're here, we're done for.
00:54:31Don't worry.
00:54:36Hello, operator?
00:54:37Give me the police station.
00:54:40Hello, police?
00:54:41This is Mike Lawrence.
00:54:42I live at 121 Maple with my roommate Carl Fenton.
00:54:45Did you say Carl Fenton?
00:54:47We've been trying to get a hold of you.
00:54:49Your roommate was killed tonight.
00:54:51A hit the run victim.
00:54:53Killed?
00:54:56Do you know who did it?
00:54:57Yeah, there were two kids, a boy and a girl.
00:55:00They've, uh, given us a slip.
00:55:02Temporarily.
00:55:03But don't worry.
00:55:04We'll catch them again.
00:55:06You mean you had them and they got away?
00:55:09I've been living in a fool's paradise.
00:55:11I thought the police were alert.
00:55:12Uh, yeah.
00:55:14And were they scared?
00:55:16You should have heard the stories they told.
00:55:18All about little spacemen and...
00:55:19I have.
00:55:20You have what?
00:55:22Oh, uh, nothing.
00:55:23Never mind.
00:55:24Thanks a lot, officer.
00:55:25Thanks.
00:55:26Uh, can you come down tomorrow and claim the body?
00:55:29Yeah.
00:55:30Yeah, I guess so.
00:55:35Well, we'll tell you the truth.
00:55:38Your story checks out.
00:55:42Carl tried to tell me something about it.
00:55:44Now will you come with us?
00:55:47I'm a nut.
00:55:49Yes.
00:55:50Give me a chance to get dressed.
00:55:54Now, I'm not saying there is a claw, mind you.
00:55:57But if there is one, I'm going to get a picture of it.
00:56:00Hey, great.
00:56:03This is a hot one.
00:56:04What's so funny?
00:56:05I'm just thinking how Carl will feel when I put him on exhibition as the world's first victim of a spaceman.
00:56:12Well, let's get going.
00:56:13I thought you said the police had your car.
00:56:27They do.
00:56:27This is Susan.
00:56:33Battery's going dead.
00:56:33When's the last time you got some water?
00:56:36Whenever the filling station man asked me.
00:56:38Not the radiator.
00:56:39He needs the battery water.
00:56:40What's that?
00:56:44How about a little push?
00:56:46I'm a guest here, remember?
00:56:48Okay, okay.
00:56:50Come on.
00:56:59I like this.
00:57:02No top, no motor.
00:57:03But a brand new shiny spotlight.
00:57:05Somebody afraid of the dark?
00:57:06Oh, I didn't get it for that.
00:57:09What did you get it for?
00:57:11Well, the crone makes an excellent mirror.
00:57:14Well, at least she's got muscle.
00:57:16No brains, but muscle.
00:57:33Pilot jump.
00:57:34Oh, please watch your language.
00:57:36Elvis is very sensitive.
00:57:38Elvis?
00:57:39Yeah, the gang calls her Elvis.
00:57:40She shakes and shimmies a lot, but she can really go.
00:58:00What's going on here?
00:58:02It's all right, Sergeant.
00:58:03One of our jets crashed.
00:58:07They had a busy night, too.
00:58:08And what it was called from people who say they've seen flying saucers and little spacemen.
00:58:14I wonder how that rumor ever got started.
00:58:16Well, you got me, Sergeant.
00:58:19Well, good night.
00:58:21Good night, Sergeant.
00:58:22Good night.
00:58:41Come on.
00:58:50Good night.
00:58:50Well, did you get rid of him?
00:58:54Just can't stand fuzz.
00:58:57Fuzz?
00:58:58Well, that's what my nephew calls him.
00:59:00That kid has me brainwashed.
00:59:02Yes, sir.
00:59:03I gave him a story that one of our jet planes crashed
00:59:06and that we were taking care of everything.
00:59:08Did he believe you?
00:59:10Colonel, sir, you are talking to the man
00:59:13who made the papers believe 45-year-old B-girls were teenage maidens.
00:59:17This was Duff Soup.
00:59:20Did you find any signs of life, sir?
00:59:30Anything, I mean, besides the fuzz.
00:59:33Whatever flew that thing down here went up in smoke.
00:59:36Nothing left but ashes.
00:59:39Job well done, sir.
00:59:41Makes you proud, doesn't it?
00:59:44Clean all over, sir.
00:59:46That's the ticket.
00:59:46Being a part of a show like this,
00:59:51protecting your country from alien invaders.
00:59:55Think of it.
00:59:56Nobody but this special unit
00:59:59and the President of the United States
01:00:02know what really happened here tonight.
01:00:05You mean you think we know what happened?
01:00:08Well, of course we do.
01:00:11I think.
01:00:13This top-secret security business
01:00:16is like scratching, Colonel.
01:00:18Once you get started, it's hard to stop.
01:00:22Just what are you getting at, Lieutenant?
01:00:24Spit it out.
01:00:26Colonel, did it ever occur to you
01:00:27that there might be other things
01:00:29being hushed up by other units
01:00:30just like ours?
01:00:31Well, you think,
01:00:33let's go.
01:00:36Let's go.
01:00:38MRS.
01:00:40WELCOME
01:00:48WELCOME
01:00:50WELCOME
01:00:52WELCOME
01:00:54WELCOME
01:00:57Oh, my God.
01:01:27Oh, my God.
01:01:57It's in there.
01:01:59It's got to be.
01:02:00Hey, wait a minute.
01:02:00I've got an idea.
01:02:01I'll give you some light.
01:02:02What was that?
01:02:14Why, did you see it?
01:02:17I saw something.
01:02:19Whatever it is, it's on the floor.
01:02:24Look at that, Sam.
01:02:26I'd never believed it.
01:02:29Sam's believing.
01:02:30Man, could I clean up with a dozen of those.
01:02:33What could they do?
01:02:34Play six pianos.
01:02:36Or three pianos and three drums.
01:02:38What a combo.
01:02:39We call them, uh, the fingers.
01:02:42You're pretty thick.
01:02:44Oh, and I may be.
01:02:47I gotta get a picture of this.
01:02:58Well, I'll see.
01:03:00If it lets you live.
01:03:03Gone.
01:03:04But, well, I saw something.
01:03:06It was right there.
01:03:09Look, come on.
01:03:09Let's get them back to town.
01:03:11I mean, they've got to believe us now
01:03:12when Mike backs us up.
01:03:13They can't accuse him of being a hysterical kid.
01:03:15All right.
01:03:15Come on.
01:03:16Let's get out of here.
01:03:17Don't start getting excited, man.
01:03:30You've got to be absolutely calm when you call the police.
01:03:32Don't start getting excited, man.
01:03:42You've got to be absolutely calm when you call the police.
01:03:44I'm glad you told me.
01:03:45This darn car.
01:03:55Turn off the lights and give you more juice.
01:03:57Good idea.
01:03:57There's another one.
01:03:58I'll see you there.
01:03:59I'll see you there.
01:04:00Here we go.
01:04:00There's another one.
01:04:01There's nothing there.
01:04:02There's nothing there.
01:04:04There's nothing there.
01:04:08Oh, there's another one over there!
01:04:13Oh, my God!
01:04:15Oh, my God!
01:04:17Oh, my God!
01:04:38Oh, my God!
01:04:44Did you hit it with the lights?
01:04:46I don't know. I can't see anything.
01:04:47It certainly sounds like it.
01:04:48They're in the bushes.
01:04:50Sam, use the spotlight!
01:04:52Turn the spotlight on them!
01:05:01Are you off your rocker?
01:05:02She's right. It burns them up like it did the claw.
01:05:04Sam, remember the battery.
01:05:06We'd better cut the headlights. They don't do any good.
01:05:24Now what'll we do?
01:05:26The spotlight's getting dimmer.
01:05:28The battery's getting there.
01:05:36It looks like we're gone, or...
01:05:38That's it!
01:05:40Let's take a run for it!
01:05:42Help!
01:05:44Help!

01:06:12Oh, my God.
01:06:42Oh, my God.
01:07:12Oh, Stan, I can't go another step.
01:07:23We've got to rest.
01:07:24Okay, honey, all right.
01:07:24We should be safe here for a minute anyway.
01:07:27Do you think they killed Mike?
01:07:29I don't know.
01:07:30I saw him pick him up and carry him away.
01:07:31Oh, we've got to get help.
01:07:32We've got to.
01:07:33We can't leave Mike to those creatures.
01:07:36Oh, what are we going to do?
01:07:37I don't know.
01:07:39What if we turned ourselves in to the police?
01:07:42What good would that be?
01:07:43Well, don't you see?
01:07:44Once we get the police out here, we'll get them to help Mike some way.
01:07:48Hey, I got an idea.
01:07:49Come on.
01:07:49Where are we going?
01:07:50To use Bailey's phone.
01:07:52He won't let us.
01:07:52He'll shoot us.
01:07:53I'll be charming.
01:07:54Come on.
01:08:01Right.
01:08:02Look, I'm trying to tell you, we want to give ourselves up if you'll just come out here
01:08:05to the Bailey place.
01:08:07You're not wanted anymore.
01:08:08Go home and sleep it off.
01:08:10What about Carl?
01:08:11Well, according to the autopsy we did on him, the cause of death was heart failure due to
01:08:17alcoholism.
01:08:18Well, how about the fender on my car?
01:08:19Now, you said that proved I hit him.
01:08:21Oh, you hit him all right, but only after he was dead.
01:08:25After?
01:08:26Well, the way we figured, he was drunk, and he must have ran his car off the road down
01:08:30the hill.
01:08:31We found an empty liquor bottle in him.
01:08:34Yeah, that's what gave us the tip off.
01:08:37He must have managed to get out of the car and climb back up the hill, but the exertion
01:08:42and the liquor was just too much for his ticker, so he conked out.
01:08:46And then you kids must have come along and run over his body.
01:08:49But won't you come out here?
01:08:51What for?
01:08:52You're cleared.
01:08:54What about stealing your car?
01:08:55Don't you want us for that?
01:08:57Well, we will get the car back.
01:08:59Just don't sweat it.
01:09:00But we stole it just the same.
01:09:03Young lady, don't worry about it.
01:09:05Your father took care of it.
01:09:07Now, please, don't bother me anymore.
01:09:09Just go home and sleep it off.
01:09:11Trust Daddy.
01:09:27He came through again.
01:09:28Yeah.
01:09:31Hey, how about the gang up at the hill?
01:09:34Oh, no.
01:09:34Not at a time like this.
01:09:36Don't be silly, honey.
01:09:36I mean, they'll still be there.
01:09:37Maybe they'll help us.
01:09:38At least they'll believe us.
01:09:39What makes you think so?
01:09:41Because they're not like our parents, and they won't think that we're drunk or nuts or
01:09:44something just because we're young.
01:09:45Maybe you're wrong?
01:09:47If it was a try.
01:09:48Come on.
01:09:59Nancy!
01:10:00Nancy, you were attacked by some weird creatures, and they captured him.
01:10:05And the police wouldn't believe it.
01:10:07Bill, Bill, will you help us?
01:10:28Come on.
01:10:29I'll tell you the way.
01:10:37Well, that does it.
01:10:58Not a treat.
01:11:00Good night's work.
01:11:01Now we can get some sleep and read about the jet crash in the morning's paper.
01:11:05Oh, aren't we regular devils?
01:11:35They were heading for this clearing where there used to be an ice plant.
01:11:41Remember?
01:11:42Yeah.
01:11:43Yeah.
01:11:43We got it.
01:11:44Okay.
01:11:44Now turn your lights off.
01:11:46Now look, when we get up there, we surround the clearing.
01:11:50Once everybody gets in position, then I'll blow the horn.
01:11:52Like this.
01:11:54That'll be a signal for everybody to turn their lights on.
01:11:58You got it?
01:11:59Yeah.
01:11:59You got it.
01:11:59You got it.
01:12:00Okay.
01:12:00Let's go.
01:12:01Let's go.
01:12:29You got it.
01:12:35Fair enough.
01:12:35Come on.
01:12:37Let's go.
01:12:38Let's go.
01:12:43Okay.
01:12:44-
01:12:59Oh, my God.
01:13:29Oh, my God.
01:13:59Hey, it's old man Bailey.
01:14:06Man, when he fires that cannon, he means business.
01:14:08Let's get out of here.
01:14:08You know, I bet that nobody will ever believe that.
01:14:24Of course not.
01:14:25Why should they?
01:14:26After all, we're just a couple of crazy kids.
01:14:30But what if they come again?
01:14:32What if there are more of them around right now?
01:14:35I guess all we can do is hope that the next guy that runs into one is 100% certified adult.
01:14:41I guess you're right.
01:14:46You know, being young does have its compensation.
01:14:49Like what, man?
01:14:50Ralph.
01:14:54Ralph.
