The National Heritage Machinery Association rally kicked off at Kingsthorpe on the Darling Downs on Sunday, running for nine days and marking the largest event of its kind ever held in Australia.
Transcript
00:01We've got 170 classic veteran, vintage and veteran vehicles.
00:05We have 56 full-size steam engines.
00:08We have 400 factors and around about 400 stationary, petrol and diesel engines.
00:14So this is what we believe is the largest carriage and machinery gathering ever held in Australia.
00:20We live in a world full of electronics and equipment that doesn't have much spirit to it.
00:24Whereas you come here, everything's living and breathing and moving and there's things that go wrong
00:29and you've got to fix stuff. It's just different.
00:31And I think people are looking for things a little bit simpler, you know, that they can understand and relate to.
00:37And I don't know, I think that's a lot better.
00:39So this tractor was brought to the next stepping stone from the steam engine to the internal compartment.
00:45So it's not much of an improvement, but it is, yeah, a bit better.
00:50How old is it? When was it built?
00:52So this is about 1914.
00:59It's about the next step, your whole time, so that there's a little bit before the steam engine.
01:03And the other one should call it.
01:05It's about 2 minutes before that.
01:07And I'm going to take off the gas cable and it's about 6 minutes,
01:09and I'm going to take off the gas cable, so that there's a little bit better.
01:12And if you can just keep going out and get off the gas,
01:13I was going to take off the gas cable now.
01:15How old is it?
01:17When was it built from the gas cable, so that there's also a little bit better.
01:19I've got it.
01:20So I think there's a little bit better.
