00:00American buyers that want to buy it.
00:01President Trump, would you like Congress to give you more control over D.C. when they return from recess?
00:07Look, D.C. is a miracle what's happened.
00:11I mean, they can come up with fake numbers like the mayor's doing, oh no, it was going down for 20 years.
00:16You didn't live here. You know, have you been mugged?
00:18Okay. D.C. was a hellhole and now it's safe.
00:23And in fact, I put out this morning, I said, I hate to say this because it doesn't sound very good,
00:28but there have been no murders in D.C. in the last week.
00:31That's the first time in anybody's memory that you haven't had a murder in a week.
00:36And I think the mayor has to get on the ball because we have a situation.
00:41She's a nice woman, but I'll tell you what, she's got to get on the ball.
00:45We have, I don't want to see phony numbers.
00:48D.C. hit an all-time high last year of absolute total crime and it continued pretty bad.
00:56And then we put some strength into it, got the numbers down a little bit.
01:00But we brought in the D.C. National Guard and we coupled them with the police and it has been amazing.
01:08I have friends that live here, people that work in the White House, but I have friends that live here.
01:12They're all going out to dinner now.
01:13They haven't gone out in years.
01:16One man, I told this story yesterday when we were with the police and with the National Guard,
01:22we had a great little celebration, brought them hamburgers, brought them pizza, but we were with them.
01:27And I told the story about one friend who hasn't been out in four years to a restaurant and now he's been out four nights in a row.
01:32He called me this morning, by the way.
01:34He said it's so safe.
01:35He feels like totally safe.
01:36He can walk.
01:37He's got a 10-block walk.
01:39He walks it.
01:39He wouldn't have walked those 10 blocks.
01:41He said it would be a chain of hell, he called it.
01:44He said it was just horrible.
01:46He had no chance of making it to the 10th block.
01:49And the mayor has to admit that.
01:51She can't say it was just like it hasn't been clean.
01:55Now it's going to be clean.
01:56I'm giving out a contract very soon.
01:58Susie's with me.
01:58We're going to be raising about $2 billion from Congress.
02:04And Congress is happy to do it.
02:05And we're going to wisely spend the money we're doing with Clark Construction.
02:09We're going to head out right from the Capitol in the White House.
02:12And if you look at a circle and go about three miles out, it's going to be beautiful.
02:17All those light poles, see the poles, they're rusting.
02:21And they've got different lenses on top, if you look.
02:24I mean, just looking at so many different problems.
02:27And we're going to have this place beautified within a period of 12 months.
02:32The streets are going to be re-tops, not ripped up and rebuilt.
02:36And they're no good after they rebuild them because they start settling.
02:38We're going to take off the asphalt and put beautiful, well-done asphalt.
02:44You know, if you have a good asphalt worker, it's the greatest thing you can have.
02:47But there aren't too many of them.
02:48But we know, I know all the good contractors.
02:50So this place will be beautified within a period of months.
02:53So it will be safe and beautified.
02:56And then the big question is, how long do we stay?
03:00Because if we stay, we want to make sure it doesn't come back.
03:03So we have to take care of these criminals and get them out of here.
03:05We have, we've collected hundreds of career criminals.
03:09These are career criminals.
03:10You're not going to teach them to be nice.
03:12These are probably born that way.
03:15I don't know.
03:16But they're career criminals.
03:17They're very, very dangerous people.
03:20They would love to, they would love to be with you for a little while and slap you around.
03:24But I'd put my money on this guy.
03:26He'd take them.
03:27Right?
03:28He'd take them down so quickly.
03:30He's saying, I don't want any part of that.
03:33No, people don't want to be that.
03:34And we're taking, we have over a thousand arrests.
03:37We're taking career criminals off the streets.
03:40It's my ambition that when we're complete, we can take everybody out and you have a great capital.
03:48But people are so happy.
03:50And I don't know where they get the polls.
03:52I see polls that they're 90% in favor of what I'm doing.
03:55And then you turn to CNN, which is fake news and nobody watches it.
03:59Or MSDNC, they change MSNBC.
04:03They changed their name now because they were so bad.
04:06But they're the worst, owned by Comcast, run by a guy named Brian Roberts.
04:11He doesn't have a clue.
04:12He's terrible, terrible manager.
04:14But they, they're not, I don't think, selling it.
04:16They're changing the name because they're ashamed of it.
04:18And they're disassociating it from NBC, which is also fake news.
04:22You know, they should be ashamed of that too.
04:24But a lot of fake news.
04:26I think the news is getting better.
04:29They're, they're learning that they have no credibility.
04:31ABC, CBS was just sold to a great person that I know very well.
04:35Great, a great man actually just bought CBS.
04:38And I think he's going to do the right thing with it.
04:40NBC is run terribly by Comcast.
04:43I call it Comcast because it's a whole con.
04:46And you're going to see some things happening.
04:48I think you're going to see some just amazing things happening.
04:50But to me, D.C. is very exciting.
04:53And a lot of people say, well, where is he going from there?
04:55Well, I have calls from politicians begging me to go to Chicago, begging me to go to New York, begging me to go to Los Angeles.
05:03And if we didn't go to Los Angeles with Newsom, they run it so badly, I don't think we would have been able to have the Olympics.
05:09They would have ripped down that city.
05:11We went there and it stopped day one.
05:12And the chief of police in Los Angeles, when they asked him the question, he said, thank God they came because we could not have handled what was happening.
05:22We went in, we stopped it, and that was it.
05:25So they needed help.
05:27They don't like to say it.
05:28I wish they'd say, I need help.
05:30I wish the mayor of D.C. would say, you know, we're overridden with crime and we need help instead of saying the stats are down.
05:36I mean, they're under investigation now for fake numbers, where they fudged their numbers.
05:41And they did.
05:42There's no question about it.
05:43They said, oh, we're on a downtrend for 20 years.
05:46No, they're on an uptrend for 20 years.
05:49We are going to make D.C. totally safe.
05:51When people come from Iowa, Indiana, all of the beautiful places, they're not going to go home in a body bag.
05:58They're not going home in a coffin.
06:00And it's very safe right now.
06:02There's been no murders since I started.
06:04And, you know, it's a terrible thing to say.
06:06Who would think that you have to say that there have been no murders?
06:09It's terrible.
06:10I wrote it this morning.
06:11I said, it's hard to say this, but it's actually good news, but it's a hell of a thing to say.
06:16There have been no murders in the last week.
06:18And nobody can remember the last time that this happened.
06:22And there won't be murders because all the thugs are hiding or they're being sent back to their countries or they're in jail.
06:29And it'll only get better.
06:31But we're also doing the beautification.
06:33And I just wanted to see the store because they have done a fantastic job.
06:37It's memorabilia.
06:40It's beautiful books and beautiful, beautiful everything.
06:44It's really, I think the fake news ought to go in and buy some stuff and make happen.
06:48I'd pay it.
06:49But then you say, I'm trying to pay you off.
06:50So I don't want to do it.
06:51I'd pay the price.
06:52But if I did that, Marco, they'd say, he's trying to pay us off.
06:55And with the fake news, we can't be brought off.
06:57So anyway, so I just want to thank you all.
07:00We're going now.
07:01I don't know if you're following.
07:02Are you following?
07:04We'll have a stop at the really beautiful, what will be beautiful right now.
07:10I can't use bad language, but it's been so badly run.
07:15And they built these cubes outside, these cubes.
07:19And there's stairways that go down to little rooms that nobody uses.
07:23It's so crazy what they did.
07:24They spent hundreds of millions of dollars.
07:26It's like throwing money out the window.
07:28They built cubes.
07:28All it does is block off the view.
07:31So I'm either going to use those cubes as a platform.
07:34You know, they go down to little stages, but nobody uses them.
07:37And we're taking care of our big, beautiful stages that people really want.
07:41And we have artists from all over the world wanting to come.
07:45I think we're signing the World Cup.
07:46The World Cup is going to have its primary office in the Kennedy Center.
07:52And again, I want to thank our boarders in Kennedy Center.
07:55They have been absolutely incredible.
07:57But you may get a chance to see what we're going to do a little bit.
07:59I'll show you beautiful slabs of marble that, for the sake of cleaning and grouting,
08:05would look like they got put in yesterday by a top marblesmith.
08:10So I want to thank you all.
08:11And I'll see you in 15 minutes, okay?
08:15Thank you very much.
