00:00Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics Podcast, a.k.a. CTP.
00:07I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard, and that's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:12CTP is your no-must, no-fuss, just-me-you-and-occasional-guest-type podcast.
00:19I really appreciate you tuning in.
00:22As Graham Norton will say, let's get on with the show!
00:25Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the show, DPB, and I say that slowly so I don't lexically
00:39screw it up because I still keep wanting to scramble the letters. No matter how many times
00:46I've already talked to you, it's like my brain just don't want to get that right for some
00:53reason, DPB. And everybody does it, too. That's what makes it funny.
00:59BDP! And be confident like they said it right, too. BDP!
01:07You need a joke. You know, Rick Springfield has an early song called Bruce, where he jokes
01:16about people calling him Bruce Springsteen. You should do a joke song about people screwing
01:26up your name. Wow. That would be great. It would be. Ooh, I'm gonna do that. That's funny.
01:33Yeah, look up Springfield on YouTube, Bruce's song, and get a feel of, you know, because to me,
01:41that's great to have a sense of humor about oneself. So you doing that would, I mean, just elevate
01:50you to the stratosphere of elite people in my eyes that you already are. Take it to a whole
01:59other level. That's good, though. I like that. At any rate, I will urge those tuning in if this
02:08is your first time seeing DPB on the show. He's been on twice, actually, once regarding
02:17peer pressure during the end of February health weeks. And I did look up and write down when
02:24you were first on. And I don't remember. It was just about bringing positivity back to
02:32rap in general. I don't remember the episode or date for that. People should go back in the
02:40Constitutional Politics catalog to get the whole nitty gritty of the who you are. We're going to
02:48skip all that stuff. Your real name, David Paul Brooks, would you know, seeing on the behind
02:58the scenes video, could see in the corner of your video, hence DPB. But I barely remember DPB,
03:08let alone David Paul Brooks. But anyway, and now that I've repeated your name several times,
03:14hopefully it might sink into a few more people's brains. But you're here for American Strong,
03:22not America Strong, but American Strong. Another kind of personal, to me, it almost seems like a
03:37very logical extension or next thing to peer pressure. Tell us what brought about American Strong.
03:46Well, the thing was, it was actually supposed to be released. It was done by time the election
03:55happened. But I felt like, I was told, and we also felt like that, man, you know what? The timing
04:03might be wrong because America wouldn't receive it correct. Americans would not receive it correctly
04:09because of the division. And then Memorial Day, like after a while you get tired of like,
04:16I feel like a lot of people don't appreciate the fact we are free. And then some people who
04:22believe that we are free want to take it overboard. And they were almost like want to bind us up as
04:30Americans that we should be some way. And, and it's just like, we just, we have to learn to come
04:36together instead of fight all the time instead of all these different divisions. It's never going
04:42to go nowhere because everybody's going to always think they're right. Yeah. Yeah. And right. Love
04:48rather than hate. Right. Okay. You don't have to love me or even like me, but hating me is a problem.
05:00Right. If you can't like, and vice versa, I don't hate anyone. You know, I may not agree with
05:10former president Biden, but I've said many times on social media, Biden derangement syndrome,
05:21just like a Trump derangement syndrome is there. If you cannot tell me one thing that you can
05:32appreciate and be willing to work on with Biden, then look in your mirror. You're part of these
05:42problems. There's hyper divide and my side, my guy only rah, rah, rah. And again, if there isn't
05:54something you can't disagree with Trump on, you're also not a thinker. You're not a principled person.
06:04Correct. I don't agree on the elimination of the penny. And I go into the book of Revelation. Why?
06:12The mark of the beast. Eliminate the penny. The nickel's next. The dime's next. Pretty soon,
06:19digital only currency and mark of the beast. They turn it on and off if you're not toeing the line.
06:26So if you can't agree with something of even the other side, you're part of the problem. Right? Right.
06:35The Michael Jackson man in the mirror or the Rick Springfield prayer. Look in the mirror and start
06:44with yourself. That's right. Yeah. That's, that's, that's how it's supposed to go. And when you just see
06:52it, it's, it's, it's, it's almost, I've, I felt like this is crazy that I could be friends with
06:58somebody for 15 years and just based off who I voted for, you never want to talk to me again.
07:05Something is wrong with that. So, but I just think, you know, somebody got to do something to try to
07:12let folks know that we can do this if we just drop all the stuff. Like we, you got to drop the
07:22political thing. That doesn't mean you don't be political, but don't let the political thing
07:27make you who you're not supposed to be and make you not be able to love somebody because
07:34their political belief. That's like crazy. There's greater things about a person than something
07:39political, you know, those type of things. So love conquers all love.
07:45If, if someone will allow it in their heart. Very true. I agree with that. But so many people
07:53are bitter. And when you're bitter, it's hard for love to penetrate that. You know what I'm saying?
08:01So I get it. Yeah. Can you, I don't, I don't want you to necessarily sing it, but can you give us
08:11kind of the chorus of American strong or, I don't see. We, we, we want to tease them into wanting
08:24to buy this song. Okay. And it's cool because I, I, and even though I wrote it, I wanted to be it
08:32to where American wrote it. We wrote this song, just become as one because we're American strong.
08:39We wrote this song to become as one because we're American strong. Yeah. I ain't going to part of
08:46the verse. Yes, you are my brother, black, white, red, brown. Yes. I'm wait. Yes. We are one color
08:51black, white, red, brown. Yes. My brother, when life gets tougher, we got to learn to love one another,
08:57come together as one, let the life shine. Let just like the sun new life has just begun
09:03one for all and all for one. See, I'm proud to be American because American is who I am.
09:12And I have a piece about twisting and warping of language. I agree with whoopsie gold digger. I mean,
09:23whoopie Goldberg on one thing and she got suspended from the view for it and calm down people. Let's hear
09:33me out fully because don't freak out when I say this. She said on the view and got in trouble for
09:41Hitler and the Jews wasn't a race thing. Well, she's right because we're one human race. We are
09:52different subcultures. We may be different skin tones. We are all still part of the human race. So
10:04she was right for all the wrong reasons when she said it, but that doesn't mean then I'm not going to
10:14defend her for being right for the wrong reason. And indeed use it as a learning opportunity to make
10:23that point. We are all members of the human race. We're not a different species. Right. We may be
10:33regional subcultures, religious subcultures, but we're all humans. This racism trap was a
10:44cultural Marxist creation to divide, divide and conquer. Yeah. That's what, but see, that's part
10:54of, well, let me use it because I'm a Christian and I said, the thief cometh to steal, kill and
11:00destroy. So his job is to, to deceive. His job is to go forth and cause division. You know what I'm
11:07saying? It's like, like America has a vision, but when somebody like, so when the enemy comes in,
11:16he wants the vision to die. And that's where it comes. Die vision, died American vision. If I can
11:24cause this to happen, I'm going to cause the vision of America to die, you know? And the whole thing is
11:29people grab it too. It's like some people are just having, they're just not thinking and understand
11:35that, man. You know what? Maybe if I change who, how I think I can make a difference. Maybe if I
11:44love better, I can make a difference. And the whole thing is America is we're supposed to be free,
11:51but we bind our own hands up because we have these thoughts like, cause I'm free. I can hate
11:59because I'm free. I can say what I want to say. And even though it hurts you, I don't care.
12:05See, technically speaking, yes. And the Supreme court has ruled. You have every right to hate,
12:16right? I like to joke. I, we both have gray goatees, right? All day long, we can hate people
12:25who don't have gray goatees and say, we hate people who don't have gray goatees. All we like,
12:33what we don't have a right to do is then say, somebody ought to do something to those people
12:40who don't have gray goatees. That's then incitement. That's then inciting violence and whatnot.
12:49That is over the line of free speech. So yes, you know, the neo-Nazis, I've been to California. I've seen
13:00the marches. Frankly, I want them to do that. I want to know who the morons are. I want you
13:11to espouse your stupid. So I know you for who you are, rather than them festering behind the scenes,
13:22planning terrorism on people. And it becomes this massive surprise when it happens. No,
13:31I want to know who you are. So please. And as the saying goes, when you're telling me who you are,
13:39I'm going to believe it. Like Iran, death to Israel, also death to America. Hey, morons,
13:48they don't need a nuclear warhead perfected in an ICBM. They can put it on a ship. Look at what
13:55Ukraine just did with the drones. They trucked them into Russia. Then they launched them out of the
14:02trucks to attack. Put a dirty, crude nuke on a ship, then a truck to Tel Aviv and New York,
14:12and simultaneously there's mushroom clouds. But yet people don't wake up to reality of what could
14:20happen and that we need to, you know, take measures to make sure those things don't happen.
14:27Right. Correct. I agree with that. Believe them when they're telling us they hate us and want to
14:35kill us. Right. That's true. But see, that's the reason why I wrote the song. So hopefully the song
14:43will help folks get it together or even think about, man, maybe I need to change my position.
14:48Maybe I need to come a little bit different so our America can heal. See, we need healing for sure.
14:59Well, it's like the coexist bumper sticker. Why does it seem like the people who most have that
15:07bumper sticker seem to be the biggest haters and don't want to coexist? Again, I don't have to like you,
15:16but indeed we need to learn to get along and coexist.
15:24But a lot of it is, I think when somebody don't like somebody, they should first have a reason,
15:33not just go for, I don't like you. See, that's a lot of it. It's just like, I'd be having sometimes
15:39these folks telling me, um, what racism do you see? And I'm like, see, it's easy for somebody that
15:48don't experience it to say something about it like it don't exist. Right. Until you experience it.
15:57Right. Yeah, again, that's a whole, again, we're all one race. But again, since the term exists, and we've come to accept it
16:08as a definition of a situation, to deny it exists is absurd. It's certainly far better than it used to be.
16:20But there's always going to be idiots who hate based on skin tone. I don't get it. But also, likewise,
16:31I like to say I'm human, I'm frail, flawed, imperfect, right? A first impression can be a wrong impression,
16:39too. We've got, as Christians, we've got to remember grace and second chances, right?
16:47Maybe I meet you, and you're just in a bad mood and in a rage and what for whatever reason,
16:57and you come across as someone hostile. It's like, I've got to remember, that might not normally be you.
17:06Something may be up with you that day. Right? So there's the grace and second chances and
17:13turn the other cheek, which doesn't mean always be a sucker, though.
17:20You're right. But that's part of love, showing grace and mercy. And God said, whoever shows mercy
17:27will obtain mercy. So the difference is, and I want to be the example of that. See, I want to be the
17:34example of like, you know what? And it's something that Jesus did on the cross. He said, Father,
17:40forgive them for they do not know what they do. And see, the thing is, just like you said,
17:45I don't know what that person has gone through. And so don't let me go forth and take it personal.
17:53You know? And that's the thing. Once you take it personal, you'll start to respond. Next thing you
17:58know, you're bitter. And next thing you know, when you're bitter, and then we ain't even talking
18:02about what the mind will do. The mind will make you think something that ain't the truth,
18:06but you can make it the truth. You know what I'm saying? And that's what the mind do. Like,
18:10so I can get off this podcast, right? And also get up there and say, you know, my bro, you know,
18:19he didn't really like me like that. That'd be in my mind. But there was nothing to show that you
18:25did not like me, right? But my mind could say something. And if I yield to that, well, I would
18:31never come on your show again. I would like to see. So the difference would be your mind
18:35can create something that is not the truth, that we make the truth. And then, you know,
18:39our lives will change because of the made up truth that we have. Yeah. And then there's
18:44that the old saying, right? Don't assume, right? Plug the kids ears, right? You make an ass out
18:51of you and me, right? Do this crazy thing called asking for clarification. And you know what?
18:59It seemed to me like you said this and were attacked. Was that your intent? And indeed,
19:08you might get, oh, dear Lord, no. I don't know why or how I came across that way. Please forgive
19:17me. It was not my intent. But yeah, we, as you said, might internalize it personally and also
19:28forget and react personally. And then you've created a feud over nothing, over something
19:37stupid and trivial that goes on for years and nobody, like Hatfield and McCoy's, it's like
19:45feuds forever. And because you had said it, what Jesus said on the cross, Father, forgive
19:54them. They know not what they do. Anti-Semitism in the world. I think Christians, I'm sorry,
20:04I'm just going to say that, who blame the Jews of today for Christ's death on the cross then.
20:13And even not all the Jews then were at fault. Those who wanted to cling to their own worldly
20:21power were at fault and demanded rob us rather than Jesus be saved. And indeed, forgive them.
20:31They know not what they do. Jesus had to go up on that cross, people. He had to become the
20:38final blood sacrifice. They were part of God's will. So you blaming them means you're blaming
20:48God. And you know what's so funny? I don't blame nobody but myself because he came to die for the
20:57lost. So anybody who was lost is why he was on that tree. He did that to save mankind. So it
21:06didn't matter who did it. It could have been the Hebrews. It could have been anybody. It doesn't
21:10matter. The whole thing is he was slain before the foundation of the world, right? That means he was
21:18going to die for the sins of the world regardless of the fact of who did it. Right. And it's Matthew
21:257, 5, is it? I don't have things memorized despite having a Christian show. It's not like I've got the
21:34Bible completely memorized up here, people. I don't. But he came to fulfill the Torah, fulfill the
21:43scriptures, not supplant and replace them. Yes, him as the final blood sacrifice eliminated the animal
21:52sacrifices we did. And again, turn the other cheek is the new better way. But it doesn't say always be
22:01suckered and taken advantage of. And eye for an eye and Genesis, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, the death penalty
22:11scriptures still relate, except it doesn't mean you personally get to enact the revenge. We still have
22:22to have a judicial system. But allowing someone to continually murder people, those who shed man's
22:30blood by man's blood shall be shed. There comes a point where grace and chances indeed
22:39are played out.
22:41Yep. I mean...
22:43The whole Bible in full context, what this show is about, it bothers me to know when people who want to
22:51pick and choose one scripture and ignore 20 others that give it context.
22:57Right. Right. Wow. That's good. That's good stuff, man. I mean, I'm just here to bring the unity back,
23:06man, and have the grace and the mercy that God would have and try to cause people to move to do the right
23:13thing. Exactly. So American Strong is indeed kind of a man in the mirror or Springfield prayer or coexist.
23:26There's not a cheesy, we are the world kind of one.
23:32Even though I almost did it like that, I was getting ready to get singers to just sing it like...
23:37Ghetto singer, they'll say, we honor those who gave their lives. Then have somebody else sing to express our freedoms and all of our rights. We have to keep our integrity to put God back in so we can have liberty. So no more judging. Just loving. No more pushing. Lots and lots of hugging.
24:06See, so when you have those things, it's just like, you have to give people something to do. It's easy to say, man, let's love everybody. But love always has an action.
24:19I can always tell somebody I love them and don't like nothing about them. But you know what I'm saying? But love always has an action. You know somebody...
24:28는 hearing the King Yang we call it all on earth without us too.
24:36Like that's kind of luck.
24:38Right there's nothing like a person, I want to push back a bit, though. Because you said about lovin',
24:44No more judging. Well, the Bible has many scriptures that we are to judge. Matthew 7 really is condemn not lest ye be condemned for final judgment is for the Lord.
25:00Other scriptures tell us to judge ourselves as well as everyone else biblically. So I want judgment, but at the same time, not condemnment. And I think that is really what you're saying.
25:18Much like Matthew 7, just doesn't quite in our modern English versions say it like the original Aramaic, Hebrew, Latin, and Greek to condemn not.
25:31You know what I was saying is that even in our judging, God told us to judge the fruit it bears.
25:40So the difference is me looking at a person and what we're good at, we're judging the person how they look and we don't know nothing they've done.
25:51So God told us to judge the fruit that a person bears. You see what I'm saying? And I'm always supposed to judge myself.
25:58I'm always supposed to check myself. God, am I doing the right thing? That type of thing is that judging.
26:02But when it comes to other people and watch this, Jesus showed us when they threw the prostitute at his feet.
26:11Now she is a prostitute and she did do the stuff. And Jesus is the judger, but he did not judge.
26:20So it showed me, see, we did not condemn. He did not condemn. Right.
26:26But he also didn't judge her because they were trying to get him to judge. What should we do?
26:30Yeah. She did this. And he just said, no, watch. He made everybody judge themselves.
26:38See, that's what, and cause he says he will without sin cast the first stone.
26:42Absolutely. Neither do I accuse you. See, and see, that's what a judge does.
26:48They accuse you of doing something that you didn't do.
26:51But see, if we know this, what comes from what you say, like it becomes bad fruit.
26:59See, I can judge that. See, that's not, see, that person is what comes off of that person.
27:05I'm seeing the fruit. People are doing bad things based on what he's saying.
27:10People are doing, see, I can judge that fruit.
27:13But see, the difference is even that God is like, how can you judge somebody else?
27:20Because you don't do that specific thing, but you have something over here you haven't, that you have the trouble with over here.
27:28But you haven't judged yourself before you judge them.
27:31And that's why Jesus.
27:32Remove the log from thine own eyes.
27:35Thine own eyes.
27:36Exactly.
27:37And even though it might not be the same situation.
27:41And that's why Jesus said this.
27:43He who was without sin cast the first stone.
27:48So if, like what some of us would do, we would cast the stone because we want to show everybody, I'm not in sin.
27:55I'm not in sin.
27:56It's deflection.
27:58It is, look at that so you're not looking at me.
28:03And sin is sin, as is crime is crime, but, and I know some people are going to get upset, they're not all equal.
28:15And that's why crime and punishments are different and why sin, you know, like I don't know if Dante and the Dante's Inferno thing could be, because I know I'm a sinner and I'm guilty of things, you know.
28:32I don't know that I deserve to go directly to heaven, perhaps.
28:37Maybe Dante's right.
28:39And whatever layer of the Inferno I got to spend some time in, I would deserve before getting to elevate to heaven.
28:49But I'm thankful that it don't run like that.
28:53I hope it don't.
28:55But, you know, if it does, I got only myself to blame.
29:00For sure, for sure.
29:03And I understand that.
29:05That's why we, each and every day, we have to renew our minds with the word of God, live out the word of God, and hide the word in your heart so we won't sin against them.
29:17Hide it.
29:17Like, he gave us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness to walk it out.
29:22So I believe it's a day-to-day battle.
29:25I mean, each set of us is going to be a battle.
29:28We have to guard our heart.
29:29We got to watch our lips.
29:30We got to guard our mind.
29:32So those things are going to automatically affect us.
29:36So we have to do it God's way to get the fruit of God.
29:40I got to do it God's way to get God's fruit.
29:44And that's just how that works.
29:45So America's strong is that.
29:48Let me speak God, because if we put God back in, he can correct some things.
29:54That's why he says, if my people will call out my name, repent, humble themselves, I will heal their land.
30:01Like, see, God.
30:02We were exactly on the same page.
30:05I was just going to quote 2 Chronicles 7, 14.
30:09I do it all the time.
30:11People want to miss that turn from wicked ways part.
30:15That is action call on our part.
30:19That's not just kneel and pray and I'll wear the magic wand.
30:24No.
30:25Kneel and pray.
30:26Get off your knees.
30:28Do things to make things better.
30:30And God will help.
30:33He'll help.
30:34And it's funny, because he did say his people.
30:38See, now, like, that's the difference.
30:40So then we're talking about godly people.
30:42So that means a lot of us godly people are in sin, and we haven't repented to do what is right, what God tells us to do.
30:51So what he's trying to say, we're going to suffer until we do it.
30:56Because that's what he's saying.
30:58You want my help?
30:59This is what you do.
31:00I noticed that God did that all throughout the Bible.
31:03You do this, then I will do that.
31:05Oh, I go on and on about that.
31:08The Matthew 23 fake Christian types, those that Jesus rightly called vipers, snakes, false guides, all want, as my friend Pastor Sean Todd of Wham Radio says on his intersection show, Noons on Sunday,
31:25they want the hippie hacky sack, sit around the campfire singing kumbaya all day long, hype Jesus.
31:35They want to forget about, as I say, the whole Bible in full context, all those tough love parts.
31:43You can't leave those out.
31:46For sure.
31:47You can't put Jesus on a buffet table.
31:50You can't put the Bible on the buffet table.
31:52I want Jesus, the broccoli here, but I don't want Jesus, the asparagus.
31:59Amen, brother.
32:00Well, you know I keep my shows pretty short, and this is probably shorter than the other times you've been on, but we packed a whole lot into this short time.
32:14And again, the main reason you're here is the song American Strong, and people could check you out.
32:22WorldofDPB.com is still active, yes?
32:26Yes, indeed.
32:26And I'm sure American Strong, Spotify and Spreaker and all those places, right?
32:35Yep.
32:36Is it on an actual album at this point?
32:41No, because it was just one of them things I wrote just because of the election and just because it's like, you know, how can I bring people together?
32:49So it's just something that we wanted to release.
32:52Actually, it was going to release a different type of song, but I just felt like it was the right timing, Memorial Day, right before Memorial Day.
33:00And it will ride all the way into the 4th of July, you know what I'm saying?
33:05So it's kind of cool that it's going to do that thing like that, you know?
33:08Yeah, I've got a friend, Pastor Jeff Jones, one of his sons is also a singer-writer.
33:16He wrote something about Tuff.
33:19I forget the title, but it's based off of that old Ford commercial, Built Ford Tuff, you know, Built American Tuff or whatever.
33:29I need to hook the two of you up to do something together.
33:35So I lost my train of thought, but to wrap things up, oh, oh, I know.
33:43Thank you so much, my friend, my brother.
33:48That's not a skin tone thing.
33:51That's a Christian thing.
33:52And people need to get over this black, white, and all kinds of shades in between nonsense.
33:58For sure.
33:59Like Martin Luther King Jr. said, content of character.
34:03I know a whole lot of white people I want nothing to do with.
34:07I still love them, and I pray for their soul.
34:10It has nothing to do with skin tone, people.
34:14Let's indeed come together American strong.
34:19Amen.
