00:00In a tragic incident in northwestern Afghanistan, at least 79 people have died in a bash crash while returning from Iran.
00:09This devastating event, which occurred around 8.30pm local time in Herat province, included the loss of 19 children.
00:17Two additional individuals were injured in the collision, which involved a bus, a truck and a motorbike igniting a massive fire that claimed many lives on the scene.
00:26One motorbike, one Mazda truck and one bus all collided.
00:34At that time, the Mazda truck was loaded with oil barrels and as soon as it collided, the barrels caught fire and engulfed the passenger bus and the motorbike.
00:45All the vehicles were completely burnt.
00:47Tragic accidents are a frequent occurrence in Afghanistan, largely attributed to poor road conditions.
00:54In recent months, nearly 1.8 million Afghans have been forcibly returned from Iran, with additional 184,000 sent back from Pakistan and over 5,000 deported from Turkey since the year's start.
01:08Our question to the government is, are these transport companies here to kill everyone in Afghanistan?
01:15This is not the first incident in Afghanistan.
01:18So many like this have happened before, at a time when we have internet, television and all technologies.
01:24The Taliban has criticized neighboring countries for these mass expansions, as Iran and Pakistan continue to send back individuals they classify as illegal residents.
