Oregon Ducks Wide Receiver Malik Benson discusses the size of the secondary this season
Transcript
00:00Yeah, and building off that just seeing from afar what Troy Franklin was able to do,
00:08what Tez was able to do last year.
00:11Did that kind of influence what maybe you could potentially do here in this offense?
00:15Yeah, most definitely seeing Tez and Trey leave.
00:19There was a lot of openings for a receiver.
00:23They got a bunch of young guys, so just me and my senior year,
00:26I need to go to a spot that not only was going to maximize me,
00:31but I was going to play with other great talent and be able to compete for
00:36a national championship.
00:37There's a lot more size in the secondary this year than there has traditionally been
00:40with the past working teams, and I'm just curious, did you notice that during spring
00:44and what it was kind of like going up against those guys?
00:46Yeah, I did notice that.
00:47This is the first institution I've been at where I look across from me and
00:52I got a guy like Sione, which is 6'3", very long.
00:55You know, iffy, things like that.
00:57And as a receiver, that's challenging when you play against a longer DB.
