00:00Hezbollah's Secretary General has vowed to fight efforts to disarm the group.
00:06Can the U.S. and Lebanese governments convince them to do so?
00:14Well, first of all, good evening to you and to whoever is watching.
00:19It's very correct what Mr. Barak has said today,
00:22that the Lebanese government has made a historic announcement and decision,
00:32and it is ready to comply with this announcement.
00:39And it is time for Israel now to take the necessary measures
00:45in order to stop the aggression against Lebanon, on the one hand,
00:49and to really withdraw, and there are definitely a number of other requirements.
00:57But this is the thing, because effectively, Lebanon practically now
01:04is more or less like between the rock and the hard place.
01:11The rock, I mean, by that is the Israeli aggression,
01:16and on the other hand, the position that's being taken by Iran and by Hezbollah
01:22is that they are really trying to insist,
01:27because they are still somehow in a state of denial
01:31and in a state of, let's say, not realizing.
01:39It's a state of arrogance, not realizing what really happened.
01:43So it's very important to help Lebanon in terms of a step that has to be made by Israel,
01:53and at the same time, in making it really helpful to Lebanon,
01:59first of all, in facilitating the process for the handing over of the weapons of Hezbollah
02:08to the Lebanese state, and at the same time,
02:12in making it possible to really provide the necessary assistance
02:18to the Lebanese legitimate forces, I mean the Lebanese army
02:24and the internal security forces, in order to take over the situation
02:29and to avoid any step that may be taken by Hezbollah
02:36in order to make it difficult for the process in the handing over of the weapons.
