00:09well it's a i've never done four legs on the tour ever i've done three a couple of times and that
00:14felt over the top but there was just the demand there so i've just carried on going obviously
00:19once you put a fourth leg on and some of the for whatever reason you couldn't get the dates because
00:24you're always holding out for friday and saturday sometimes you got your liverpool and newcastle
00:28right at the end and a lot of people like have traveled to the sunderland gig or the i've done
00:33two nights in chester i did three nights in manchester so it's a case of just beating the
00:37drum and saying i am eventually coming i'm coming to liverpool prepare for entry but you're also
00:45coming to newcastle how are you feeling about your northeast trip well i love i love the geordies i
00:51worked on geordie shore a bit and i did the switch over shore so i know all that lot i know vicky i
00:56north charlotte uh and again it's just a town i know really well i know all the local jokes i know
01:01i know how to fucking take the piss out of people from south shields versus sunderland
01:05versus newcastle versus heaven forbid north fucking shields i know what a sundancer is
01:11enormous smog heat and i know what i'm fucking talking about and i get right fucking to it
01:18one of the best gigs of the tour so far has been sunderland i mean honestly if we're talking about
01:24response sunderland just got this amazing new venue called the fire station i don't know what
01:30it is about the northeast but once those guys go out the house they're like we're gonna fucking
01:34have it we're gonna get mortal on laughter and they just don't hold back and for a comedian the
01:39more energy you put in the more i'm gonna put back and a comedian like me whose act is energy that's
01:45what i'm about it really kicks off so that one in the tiny and opera theater house i mean such an
01:51amazing venue and they the thing i like about geordie's is they can really take it like some
01:56cities you go to if you're going to liverpool you don't take the piss too much you got to show that
02:01respect but geordie's are like fucking do us do us fucking properly and they like they like to they
02:07can just take the fucking bunter they can they just can regardless of where people are in the
02:12country why should they go get the tickets to see maybe your last hyperactive shows
02:16i just feel like if you want something from comedy where you're going to laugh till you're hurt
02:21but you'll also be changed and get something positive from it there's a lot of debate about
02:26whether stand-up comedy is an art or whether it's just an entertainment like watching telly or
02:31something if we go to see classical music that's art if we go to the gallery that's art if we watch
02:36shakespeare that's art emmerdale no one's calling that art so where is stand-up is somewhere in between
02:43but stand-up can be something that has artistic merit and my my criterion is are you changed by
02:52what you've seen in a meaningful way that's what i seek to do whilst injuring you with laughter
02:58as someone that literally had a heart attack uh and had to come back and watch the show at another
03:02venue at one of the gigs i do i mean it really goes off in the first 20 minutes and then and then
03:07we we change gears and we fucking take the piss out of the stuff that really matters
03:12why aren't we living a full life why don't couples fuck each other why are young people bellends that
03:17are offended by everything you know why was greg wallace cancelled for making a joke at work was
03:21it right you know go there and we explore it if this show has the most legs you've ever done does
03:27that mean it's your best show yet i would say so every show comedian does should be better because
03:33they're more mature and you know more things about life so unless you're experiencing some sort of
03:37cognitive decline or performance-based decline there's no excuse for the show's not improving
03:43i'm a massive advocate for continued growth throughout life there is no statistics anywhere
03:48that proves human beings stop growing past any age it's a complete fucking myth do not give in
03:54continue to grow and change and you should expect the same from your comedians as well
