The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Monday (Aug 18) postponed the defence trial proceedings of Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and his wife Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad on three corruption charges totalling RM2.8 million, to Sept 2.

Judge Rosli Ahmad decided this after allowing an application by lawyer Teh See Khoon, representing Zizie Izette, for the hearing to be postponed due to the absence of lead counsel Datuk Seri K. Kumaraendran.

00:00The KL Sessions Court has postponed the defense trial proceedings of Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin and his wife Datin Seri Zizi Izzette Abdul Samad on three corruption charges, totaling 2.8 million ringgit to September 2nd.
00:17Judge Rosli Ahmad made the decision on Monday after allowing an application by lawyer Taisi Kuhn, representing Zizi Izzette, for the hearing to be postponed due to the absence of lead counsel Datuk Seri K. Kumara Endran.
00:30Bung Mokhtar was expected to take the witness stand.
00:33Teh, who is handling the case with Bung Mokhtar's lawyer M. Atimulan, said Kumara Endran was unwell and still undergoing treatment.
00:40The court also vacated the trial dates, which had been set for tomorrow and Wednesday.
00:45On May 22nd, the couple failed in their final attempt to challenge the Court of Appeal's decision ordering them to enter their defense.
00:52A three-member panel of the Court of Appeal unanimously dismissed their application, stating that they had failed to demonstrate exceptional circumstances or a miscarriage of justice that would justify a review of the call for defense ruling.
