00:00With your explosive ability, he wants to get the ball in your hands as much as possible.
00:04Does that mean playing special teams returning kicks as well, not just running out of the backfield?
00:07Right, I want to be used anywhere on the field that I can be, you know,
00:10so just when my number's called at any position on the field,
00:13special teams or on offense, I'm up to do it.
00:16Can you talk to just the competitiveness of this room, you know,
00:21if you guys are really competing for who's going to emerge
00:23and take a lot of the production that's now gone?
00:27Right, it's a battle on and off the field, you know,
00:28just through walk-throughs and practice every day you have to come out to compete.
00:32And every day, you know, you're fighting for a spot, you're fighting for a job here.
00:36So, you know, you come out, try to better yourself and better the team every day,
00:40and that's just the competitive mindset you have to have on and off the field.
00:43Eli, you grew up in Southern California, played in New Mexico,
00:46and you're full circle back here in New Jersey.
00:48What does that mean to you?
00:49Right, it's just a blessing to come back kind of like my hometown
00:51and play in front of, you know, just my friends and my family.
00:54You know, I have my mom out in San Diego, so, you know,
00:56for her to come down every game and my dad to come out.
00:59So, it's just, you know, it's a huge blessing to be here at USC.
01:02Was USC the team you grew up watching?
