00:05Although Home Alone fans have been patiently awaiting Macaulay Culkin's return for nearly 35 years,

00:10it might take a Christmas miracle to get director Chris Columbus to reboot the franchise.

00:15The Oscar nominee, who directed the 1990 holiday classic and its sequel Home Alone 2,

00:20Lost in New York, 1992, recently shot down hopes of an official third installment in the beloved films,

00:26which were penned by John Hughes.

00:28I think Home Alone really exists as, not at this timepiece, but it was this very special moment,

00:34and you can't really recapture that.
