00:00Another DAP youth state chapter has called for the party to sever all ties with UMNO
00:05Youth Chief Dr. Akmal Saleh over the upside-down Jalo Gemilang issue.
00:11Negeri Sumbilan DAP youth urged the central DAP leadership and youth wing to take a clear
00:16stand on Akmal, whom they accused of sowing division among Malaysians and politicizing
00:21the flag issue.
00:23This echoed Penang DAP youth's similar call made the day before, showing growing pressure
00:27within the party.
00:29Akmal dismissed the threat, daring DAP to cut ties with him and warning that doing so
00:34would mean ending DAP's relationship with UMNO, a key unity government partner.
00:39Akmal is being investigated for sedition, criminal intimidation, and improper use of network facilities
00:45over a Facebook video in which he allegedly made statements that could disrupt public peace.
00:52The video in question was related to a hardware store owner in Kpala Batas, Penang, who was
00:56caught on video hanging the Jalo Gemilang upside down.
01:01Separately, Melaka DAP publicity secretary Kurt Chiye said the state chapter should not work
01:06with politicians who don't intend to build a harmonious and inclusive community in the next
01:11state election, adding that Akmal should have handled the flag issue in a mature and tactful manner.
