00:00Home, they'll sit and watch the game again, they'll say, look, we have given the best team, arguably, in Europe,
00:06well, not arguably, definitely in Europe, because they won the Champions League,
00:08we've given them a proper match, and we're extremely unlucky not to lift that title, so come on.
00:13And the biggest plus might be the shape.
00:17I heard Glenn talk about the shape.
00:19They were so comfortable for 60, 75 minutes until Luis Enrique changed it,
00:26put a number nine on, and brought two wide boys.
00:29That changed the game.
00:31Well, there he is, the serial winner, Luis Enrique, leading his team up onto the podium.
00:36The all-important date is that the draw for the Champions League, league phase,
00:40which is on the 28th of August in Monaco, the final in Budapest,
00:45at the end of it all, to wrap up the season on the 30th of May.
00:50There's Nudo Mendes kissing the trophy, his all-important penalty,
00:53decided the shootout, Bettini and Mist, which is not like him,
00:57Lee with that big goal, five minutes from time, to give them the lifeline,
01:03and then Dembele crossed for Gonzalo Ramos.
01:06And what about young Chevalier, the goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier,
01:09first game for PSG, first win for PSG, save one in the shootout,
01:14and he gets a medal.
01:14Yeah, fair play to him, second goal aside, I thought he had a very good evening.
01:19I mean, he had an incredible save, actually, just second prior to the tournament opening goal
01:24from Mickey Van De Ven, I thought it was a tremendous save when he got across,
01:27he got to lean his hand up to the crossbar, so he can be very happy with his night.
01:31Well, Due has just gone through, all he knows is winning trophies since making the move from Rennes.
01:35There's Kovar at scale, a frustrating night, Bradley Barkeler.
01:39There's the man that sent it to penalties, Gonzalo Ramos, receiving his medal.
01:45And then right at the end of the line is Marquinhos.
01:48I mentioned he got 34 trophies in a glittering Paris Saint-Germain career.
01:53Well, you can now make it 35, and the European champions pick up where they left off,
01:59picking up a trophy here tonight in Udinese.
02:01The best team in Europe has won the Super Cup, and the captain has the trophy, Marquinhos.
02:08And the teammates are there, and the super team from the Parc des Prances has won the Super Cup.
02:16And we say congratulations to Paris Saint-Germain.
02:23Yeah, PSG lifting yet another European trophy weeks after winning the Champions League for the very first time now.
02:45They are now the only French side ever to lift the UEFA Super Cup as well.
02:50What a year it's been for them.
02:53And 2025 has been near perfect for this side.
02:56They had to fight all the way in the league phase to get to this point.
03:00And now they are the ultimate team to beat in the continent.
03:04Who is best fit to actually challenge this side, Karen?
03:07Oh, Karen.
03:08I know, I'm all right.
03:09Put it on the line here.
03:10Barcelona.
03:11I think, you know, Barcelona, I think their Achilles heel was just a defensive kind of mindset last season, wasn't it?
03:19But in terms of going forward, they had everything.
03:21So, look, I think we have to be respectful of that.
03:23And I think Barcelona could push them.
03:27For me, depending on what Liverpool do and try out to the market still to come, and I'm hearing what I'm hearing, if it does happen, wow, they're going to have some squad.
03:36But I would say Liverpool might be the ones to beat, but Barcelona...
03:39What are you hearing, Glenn?
03:40I'm not only hearing what you're hearing and what everyone else is hearing, but two...
03:44Mine are just the voices in my head.
03:45What are you hearing?
03:46If they get to who they're trying to get to the club, then I think they will go very close.
03:53You know, they look a very good side now.
03:55Just a word on Lucas Chevalier here, because, I mean, this was not a great game for this young boy.
04:02Thrown in at the deep end, Donnarumma, a serial winner as well with PSG, frozen out.
04:09He will be the first person who's relieved to win this trophy, right?
04:12Well, I think it was just a mistake, wasn't it, for the second goal.
04:17He probably, well, he will look back and think, I could have done better.
04:20But at the end of the day, he did well in the penalty shootout and made some good saves in the first half, to be fair to him.
04:26But you obviously always look at the major moments of any goalkeeper, and he will be disappointed with that.
04:31But, ultimately, look, they've got the trophy in their hands today.
04:34I do think, you know, Spurs were the better team for 80 minutes.
04:37Ali was right until Ramos came on in the centre-forward role.
04:40It gave them a different kind of option.
04:43But they're full of quality, and they're only six, seven days into coming back into the group.
04:48They've had time off after the Club World Cup.
04:51But, you know, they're definitely ones to beat.
04:54But I still think, as Glenn mentioned, it'd be great for the English teams to really bridge the gap,
04:58because I thought last season was a bit of a gap.
05:00So that would be exciting for me to see that.
05:03But I still have got my eye on that Barcelona young team.
05:06If they can get the defensive structure right, I think they could push these guys.
05:09I think if you look at the Paris Saint-Germain team, when they had all the superstars in it,
05:15there's no way they could 2-0 down, with 10 minutes to go, that they turn that team around, that game around, sort of.
05:21But this side have not played well tonight.
05:24Tottenham have been the better team, but they end up, look, they're celebrating with the trophy.
05:28And they've done that in about a 15-minute spell, and then finished off the penalties better than Spurs.
05:33But at the end of the day, they've got some resilience about them.
05:37They've got some character.
05:38I'm not saying the other team didn't, but it was about all superstars, all creative football.
05:43We were not really worried about how we defend.
05:45We were speaking about Tottenham's defence, and their attack was nicely balanced today.
05:49This team have got that now, and they've got really good creative players as well.
05:53So they've got the balance right.
05:55That's why they will be one of the favourites to go back and with.
05:58But like everyone says, whether you're a tennis player, a golf player, or a footballer in the team,
06:03to win it is one thing, but to maintain it and retain that trophy is very, very difficult
06:09for everyone in sport to fail.
06:10And that is the big challenge for this PSG side, who, you know, according to Luis Enrique,
06:15are on a bit of a journey, aren't they?
06:16Constantly evolving.
06:18Not many people would have expected the success that they had last season,
06:21but they proved everybody wrong.
06:23And now they've lifted yet another European trophy to cap off what has been a fantastic campaign
06:30in Europe and begin the next one with victory as well.
06:33It should be very, very exciting indeed to see how far this PSG side can go under that
06:39incredible manager that they have, a serial winner, as Darren Fletcher said, Luis Enrique.
06:45OK, so as they continue to enjoy their celebrations, we can tell you that, yes,
06:51PSG have claimed the first piece of European cup.
06:54It's hot in Italy.
06:55Let's see what happens out on the pitch.
06:56Over to you guys.
06:57Thanks, freshman, it is hot.
07:02It's a good job you're a two-hour flight away as well, isn't it, Ali, based on that.
07:05It's a bit early for these.
07:06Oh, that was a bit harsh.
07:07Probably factually correct, mine, but a bit harsh.
07:10So here they come.
07:11We're all set here in Oudanay for the traditional meeting of the Champions League winners
07:15and the Europa League winners.
07:16And the game is being played tonight for the 50th time.
07:20And the Paris Saint-Germain Ultras are out in force.
07:23And there's Marquinhos carrying the Champions League trophy and Christian Romero with the
07:29Europa League trophy, silverware that secures the players' places in the history of their clubs.
07:37PSG here for the first time since 1997, having secured a record-setting win in the final against
07:43Inter Milan in Munich in May.
07:45It's the first ever Super Cup appearance, though, for Tottenham, who are trying to win their
07:50second trophy in 12 weeks after 17 years without one.
08:01There's Luis Enrique, who secured a treble for the second time in his managerial career
08:07last season.
08:08And what a big night it is and a fresh start for the Tottenham manager, Thomas Frank.
08:20So the players lining up.
08:21We're at the home of Udinese in the Stadio Friuli, which holds around 25,000 fans.
08:27And I must say, there are more Tottenham fans in here tonight than those from Paris Saint-Germain.
08:32It's been a very hot day.
08:34It's not much cooler now.
08:35It's very, very close and muggy.
08:37And now we're ready for the European curtain raiser here on TNT Sports.
08:42Pretty simple, Ali, when you look at it, it's the best in the Europa League against the
09:03very best in the whole of Europe.
09:05Yeah, it's pretty straightforward when you put it in that, Fletch.
09:08It's clearly a tournament that a cup that both teams will want to win.
09:14Tottenham, you know, last trophy before the Europa League against Manchester United was
09:21clearly 2008.
09:22So as you mentioned, there's an opportunity to do it in 12 weeks, which would be remarkable.
09:27So it's obviously clearly wanting to win this one.
09:31So these are the teams and the European champions very attacking tonight.
09:36That's the first thing to say.
09:37Lucas Chaballier, signed from Lille, makes his debut in goal with Gigi Donnarumma on his
09:42way out.
09:43Tuao Neves suspended.
09:45Fabian Ruiz only a sub.
09:46The teenager Warren Zaire Emery starts in midfield with Betinha.
09:51And Bradley Barkola plays in a fearsome front four that also includes Dembele, Khabarovic,
09:56Scalia and Douai.
09:58And that's what they're playing for tonight, the UEFA Super Cup.
10:05There's the referee, João Pinheiro from Portugal.
10:09And he was the man who was fourth official at the Champions League final in Munich in May.
10:15And he's about to be joined by the two captains, Marquinhos of Paris Saint-Germain and Christian
10:21Romero, who's now the club captain at Tottenham, having taken over that role on a permanent
10:25basis from the now-departed Heung-Min Son.
10:28And at the start of a World Cup season, it's Argentina versus Brazil.
10:50And you wonder whether that's any kind of omen with the two captains down there.
10:56So while the Parisians are focused on the attack, there's a definite defensive look to Tottenham
11:08tonight.
11:08Injuries rule out.
11:09Kulosevsky, Maddison and Udoggi, Leitness, Bissouma, Solanke and Johnson only subs, three
11:16centre-back start, including Kevin Danso, but we expect a back four, as you can see there
11:21with Mickey van der Ven at left-back.
11:23Jed Spence is going to push on.
11:25Joel Polinia plays alongside Bentoncourt and Saar.
11:29The new signing, Mohamed Koudis and Richarlison, the only real recognised attackers.
11:34Thomas Frank's plan will soon become apparent, but it's very much at first glance the anti-Ange
11:40for Tottenham tonight.
11:44Well, it's been a short summer for the European champions from Paris, who went all the way
11:48to the Club World Cup final against Chelsea.
11:50So managing minutes is still a priority for Luis Enrique, but the big hitters are here
11:55tonight.
11:56As for Tottenham, well, they've got a new manager and a new philosophy, a fresh start and a desire
12:01to be better in the Premier League.
12:02And of course, being back in the Champions League is huge for them.
12:07With the Tottenham players huddling up in front of the Tottenham supporters, it's also the
12:10first time tonight that the teams have ever played against each other in a competitive
12:14fixture.
12:15That's the new PSG goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier.
12:19And just spare a thought tonight for Gigi Donnarumma, who at the moment I don't think
12:23can quite work out why he's suddenly become surplus to requirements at Paris Saint-Germain.
12:29What about this then, Ali?
12:30The Tottenham team is fascinating, isn't it?
12:32We know what we're going to get from PSG, but the first real look at a Thomas Frank team
12:36and the way it's got it set up.
12:37Yeah, it's going to be interesting.
12:39The first thing you've got to say is you had Spence's starting position on the left-hand
12:43side.
12:44You'll have to defend well, that's stating the absolute obvious, but you look at the
12:48shape initially.
12:49PSG, you know, will be a straightforward 4-3-3, but I'll be examining and looking very closely
12:57at how Tottenham line up.
12:59The first thing you'd say, Ali, it looks like a back three, doesn't it?
13:02It does.
13:02Van der Ven, Romero in the middle and then Danso on the right, then Spence and Porro as
13:07wing-backs.
13:07The interesting thing then is the two at the top of the pitch, Kouris and Richarlison.
13:11Playing through the middle.
13:13Well, we said that when we looked at it earlier on, it was the first thing we said, will they
13:17go with three centre-backs, will they play a 4-4-2?
13:19There's the first chance for Porro to try his look from distance, no real concern there
13:25for the new man Chevalier.
13:28Interestingly, in the first half, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper is right in front
13:33of the PSG Ultras.
13:35PSG and Perrius from January onwards in the Champions League last season, from 2-0 down
13:40against Manchester City, they never looked back, culminating in the biggest win in a
13:45Champions League final for any club side.
13:47They're the favourites again going into the competition.
13:50The manner of how they did it last season is what really stuck in their mind.
13:53I'll tell you, that was really interesting.
13:56First goal kick to PSG there, Fletch, right?
13:59The Spurs lads pushed up, which they're well entitled to do, not allowing them to play
14:03out for the back.
14:04But in doing that, they leave themselves three against three defensively.
14:09I think the interesting thing is we saw the Chelsea method to beat Paris Saint-Germain
14:13in the Club World Cup final.
14:14It involved a lot of energy and a very high press.
14:17And we'll see whether Tottenham adopt those tactics tonight.
14:19If you've not seen Chevalier before, by the way, the goalkeeper has come in.
14:22He's magnificent with his feet.
14:24There is a feeling he's going to be France's number one in the not-too-distant future.
14:28And he is extremely highly rated.
14:30So he seems a good fit for an Enrique team, you'd say that.
14:37Bradley Barker trying to win the ball back against Tottenham.
14:40Have it here with Petro Poro.
14:43And they'll get the throw in.
14:47Spurs in the Super Cup for the first time tonight.
14:50PSG bidding to become the first French club side to win it.
14:53And if Spurs do lift the trophy this evening, they'll become the seventh English club side to win a Super Cup.
15:00And I must say, there's a really good atmosphere inside the stadium.
15:03The majority of it right now being generated by the PSG supporters.
15:11Unsurprisingly, out of the Tottenham midfield lads, Fletch.
15:15Pellinho and Benton Coeur look the two that are sitting with Saar.
15:19The start position at least ten yards in front of those two.
15:25Michalasson starting tonight, Dominic Solanke not quite ready.
15:28He's on the Tottenham bench, though.
15:30Still missing some key players, Spurs, some for a long time,
15:33and others who may well be back in the not-too-distant future.
15:37And here's the first chance tonight for Kevin Danso to put the long throw in
15:40into the PSG box, and it didn't get cleared initially.
15:44And there was just a half-hearted appeal in there from Michalasson for a penalty.
15:48Just came off the top of Marquinhos' head.
15:50That's it, he was up there, Romero did well.
15:52Jumped early, posed him a problem.
15:55But why wouldn't you do that?
15:56Why wouldn't you try and unsettle him?
15:57Well, Guglielmo Vicario with the ball.
16:05There's Luis Enrique, who finally delivered the Champions League trophy to Paris
16:09in his second full season at the club.
16:12And now his team sit there at the top of the pile,
16:15and they're the side that all of them are gunning for
16:17in the Champions League this season.
16:19Here's Hakimi, one of two excellent full-backs in the PSG team, now Vitinha.
16:30Well, that's the difference to Paris Saint-Germain tonight, the midfield.
16:33There's no Fabian Ruiz, he's on the bench,
16:34and Charles Neves, who was sent off in the Club World Cup final, he's suspended.
16:39And that's not really a race that Hakimi's going to win tonight against Jetspen.
16:42No, but it was a good one.
16:44I enjoyed it.
16:45I think you get the first yard by keying away there, but you're right.
16:52There's not too many who'll beat Jetspen in a sprint.
16:56We saw the Tottenham manager Thomas Frank his first opportunity tonight to win a trophy.
17:00They were heavily beaten last week by Bayern Munich,
17:03so certainly wouldn't want a setback like that tonight.
17:06But of course, it's early days for the new Spurs manager.
17:10And that's a foul on Toro by Nuno Mendes.
17:23Not sure there's an awful lot of contact there, he just lifts the undercarriage up, doesn't he?
17:26Doesn't he any chances?
17:28Tell you what, Ali, that's an important part of this Paris Saint-Germain team, the full-backs.
17:32They were involved in 35 goals across the various competitions last season.
17:36They both scored four each in the Champions League,
17:39and they are the best tandem anywhere you look.
17:42And it's not really an argument, is it?
17:44No, I think they're the two best in the world, really do.
17:47And unless it's a mistake, and I think you mentioned Champions League goals,
17:50I think Hakimi got a living all in.
17:51It's not bad for a right full-back, is it?
17:55Tottenham free kick taken by Vicario,
17:57and hung up in there towards Kevin Danso.
18:00Almost broken there for Romero.
18:07Bettini are blocking the cross.
18:17One interesting situation is that PNC have been back a week.
18:22The Club World Cup meant that the summer was short, the season was long,
18:25so Luis Enrique has tried to give them some time off,
18:27but in terms of where they'd be in their preparation,
18:30and let's not forget, they start at the weekend as well,
18:32just like the Premier League teams do.
18:34They've not been back very long.
18:36Anything but.
18:37I was just looking at it there, you're absolutely spot on there.
18:40They came back last Wednesday, I think it was.
18:43I mean, I understand that they get it because the players do need a break.
18:47And you're right, this is the first game,
18:48and then I think they're away at 0 at the weekend,
18:50so they're backhands it very, very quickly.
19:06And a downpire with Charleston.
19:12Spurs have it now with Rodrigo Benson-Curr.
19:14Mickie van der Venen to the feet of Richarlison,
19:22now it goes on to Mohamed Koudis.
19:26Listen, Fletcher was a first-time ball,
19:28Koudis had on around the corner there.
19:32Jadford Spence had made a brilliant run in the left-hand side,
19:36started off defensive, almost made a break.
19:39Koudis didn't see him.
19:41Frustrated there, Spence, I get it.
19:42Marquini off to Dembele,
19:51he had such a fine individual season last season.
19:57Warren Zaire Emery is still a teenager,
20:00he runs into the challenge of the Tottenham captain, Romero.
20:03William Pachot,
20:17now Marquini off,
20:18the two odd men out in the Paris Saint-Germain team,
20:20the only two of the regular 11 that weren't nominated for the Ballon d'Or,
20:24on the shortlist.
20:25Two fantastic footballers, though, in their own right.
20:30Bradley Barkeler.
20:32Just thinking they should hang their heads in shame.
20:36A little of the ball played in here to Zaire Emery.
20:38Good football, Kibar at Scalia.
20:41Man, he was unable to turn it in,
20:44but that's the first time we've seen this excellent team take it around like that.
20:47That's what they can do.
20:47Just about everything's one touch.
20:50Barrett Scalia takes the touch with his left foot.
20:52He's probably looking initially to lay it off somewhere.
20:54He's way off balance in the finish, he's poor.
20:56But that's what they do.
20:58Play in little tight areas.
21:00A very, very comfortable dam.
21:02First and a half chance.
21:03A quick look at Vicario.
21:06We got told a wonderful story about him, didn't we, early today,
21:08that his uncle actually runs a bar in the city,
21:12and there is an Udine branch of the Tottenham supporters club
21:15that he runs out of there
21:17based on the fact that his nephew plays for Tottenham.
21:19Brilliant.
21:20And he played at a label himself, of course.
21:22He did.
21:23Played in the third tier here in Italy.
21:25He had a load of Tottenham fans in last night
21:27and the night before, enjoying his hospitality.
21:29Barcala for Paris Saint-Germain, and he took it well.
21:37He's managed to draw a crowd, but that doesn't tend to faze him.
21:42No, he fancied that, didn't he?
21:48It was interesting listening to Glenn and Karen before the game
21:51talking about the fact that Svald Polinia goes to ground.
21:54He's gone to ground there, and he's got a kick in the face in the process.
21:59He just catches his face, doesn't he, I think?
22:09He's a little bit unlucky there, he doesn't get by the three of them.
22:12It's interesting there as well, because I'm just looking at that left-hand sideflash.
22:31And Judge Spence, he won't go until he knows Mickey Van Deventen
22:35and come over and take the left-hand side for quite a sale.
22:37It's like, get my chest out there in a moment.
22:44It's Richarlison.
22:47Gets to the other side of Marquinhos, but then can't keep the ball in.
22:51Referee spotted it there rather than the assistant.
22:54I mean, there is pace in this Tottenham team to deal with
22:57the Paris Saint-Germain attacks.
22:59When you think about Van de Ven and Spence, they've got quick players in the team.
23:02Of course they have, of course they have.
23:03Two of the quickest, in fact.
23:06See what I'm saying there now, look.
23:08They're leaving a 3v3.
23:12Now that's what you do to play against it,
23:15however, Dembele's got to come short quicker.
23:18Could pose a wee problem from Tottenham, that.
23:20Sorry, I was just going to say, I get them pushing up and making them
23:29forcing them into the kick, darn.
23:31But it's not without its risks.
23:34It's Hakimi.
23:36I haven't really seen the two PSG fullbacks get forward too much
23:39in the early stages.
23:41Khabar and Scalia are out there on that side.
23:42It's Vitinha.
23:45Tasho onto Nuno Mendes.
23:50Good work in there by Sartre.
23:56And that's good work as well by Koudis
23:58to dispossess Mendes,
24:00and now he can set Tottenham Hotspur on their way.
24:06Toro.
24:11Koudis swings with an inviting cross
24:13towards Richarlison, who did superbly well
24:15to keep it in.
24:15Didn't he just?
24:18In it goes now from Richarlison,
24:19but he's ballooned that one.
24:21But encouraging to see Koudis get involved down this side.
24:24He's a big player for Tottenham this season.
24:26Yeah, he certainly is.
24:27And a willing runner going by him there and Pedro Poro,
24:30but he caught back inside and played a good ball
24:31in the back post area.
24:34No one coming back the way he clearly wasn't
24:35with the same quality.
24:36I know you've not got a crystal ball,
24:39but do you think this shape is for tonight,
24:41or do you think this might well be the way
24:42that Spurs are going to play this season
24:44under Thomas Frank,
24:45with a back three?
24:46I think they might, you know.
24:48I really do.
24:52You never know.
24:53The one thing he is capable of,
24:54he's more than capable of changing it.
24:58Never mind for a game,
24:59during a game.
25:00One thing we can say with confidence
25:07is that the defensive line is not quite so high.
25:09In fact, it's nowhere near as high,
25:11and it's a lot more practical in terms of
25:12the way they're set up.
25:14Right now, they're straight into the five.
25:17With Poro taking the wide man,
25:18and Spence taking the wide man.
25:20But what that does,
25:21it leaves gaps in front of them now,
25:22is for the middle three have to be as tight
25:25as they possibly can.
25:26But PSG will get possession of the ball
25:28when Tottenham drop back into a five,
25:31it's only natural.
25:35Hakimi forward down the right,
25:36supported here by Zaire Emery,
25:38and then Vittinia.
25:48Usman Dembele.
25:50Now Bradley Barkela.
25:56Now Kibice Kovar at Scalier.
26:09Vittinia's ball,
26:11and defended well in there for Tottenham
26:13by Petro Poro.
26:18This will be the problem, though,
26:19for Spurs, Ali,
26:20if they get pending and can't get out.
26:22Well, that's the problem, though,
26:23Halfwich,
26:24I don't know if I explained it well,
26:26but when they go back to the five,
26:27it clearly leaves a lot more space
26:29in the middle of the park.
26:30PSG have got numbers there,
26:32so they're going to control possession
26:34and revolve.
26:35But up to now,
26:37you know,
26:37they haven't been a real threat with it.
26:39That can change, obviously.
26:41Kibice Kovar at Scalier,
26:44one of the people who can change it,
26:45but Benton Kaur did well there for Spurs,
26:47and now he finds Richarlison.
26:50And Benton Kaur,
26:51the player who's gone up there
26:52to support him.
26:55And Pasho with a foot in,
26:57and the offside flag up
26:58against Spurs.
27:02That's the challenge, though, Ali,
27:03if you're going to defend deep
27:04and play at a five,
27:05and it does break like that,
27:06you've got to get people up
27:07with Richarlison.
27:07Without a doubt,
27:10I'm just having a quick look at that.
27:11I'm not sure that pass
27:13actually come off of Charleston.
27:14If you come off of the defender,
27:16clearly the Tottenham players are onside.
27:17But anyway, no, you're right.
27:19And it makes it a little bit more difficult
27:20when they are back in a five
27:22for players to get forward to support.
27:30The majority of the time
27:31the Champions League win
27:32has come out on top in this game.
27:33In fact, for the last six years,
27:34the winners of the big one
27:35have gone on to win this one.
27:37Barkal have run him through.
27:39Good challenge by Sarr.
27:40It really was.
27:41It really was a good challenge.
27:56Haven't seen much of Douay,
27:57have we, in the opening quarter of an hour?
27:59Quiet.
28:00There he is on the ball now.
28:01And Parat Scalia.
28:03Generally speaking,
28:07the top players in forward areas
28:09have been quiet
28:10after 15 minutes.
28:12Kudis with the flick on.
28:37He only played in 24 games last season.
28:50Richarlison, seven of them
28:51in the Europa League.
28:53He was just offside
28:54from the throw-in.
28:57Bit of talk over the summer
28:58as to whether he'd be a Tottenham player
29:00when the window shuts.
29:00But he's starting tonight.
29:02There's a lot in there for Richarlison.
29:04He's a good player for them
29:06when he's fit.
29:08Absolutely spot on.
29:10Whether he's going to get you 25, 30 a season,
29:13that's a different discussion.
29:14Just looking at the goals,
29:17what did they get last year?
29:18Solanke got a few.
29:21Obviously, Brandon Johnson
29:22certainly got a few.
29:23He can probably consider himself
29:24a little bit unlucky not to start.
29:25Yeah.
29:26On the subject of goals,
29:27PSG scored 168
29:29in all competitions.
29:30168.
29:31168.
29:33Yeah.
29:33Dembele was top of 35.
29:35Jett Spence for Tottenham.
29:44Now Mickey van der Ven.
29:54We're expecting water breaks, aren't we,
29:57in this first half
29:58and in the second half as well.
29:59No surprise
30:00because the temperature's not dropped
30:02that much
30:03since this afternoon.
30:05it's not quite as hot
30:06but it's a lot closer
30:07than it was earlier today
30:09as darkness
30:10has descended
30:11on the Oudiné.
30:17Straight forward,
30:18Fikek there,
30:19doing a little bit late
30:20for the challenge.
30:28Still got the baby face,
30:30hasn't he, Chaballier?
30:30Still only 21.
30:35So Pedro Poro
30:48and Mohamed Koudis
30:49over the Tottenham free kick.
30:51Well, that's headed over the bar.
31:02Tacho took a little knock in the process
31:04as he was trying to attack it for PSG.
31:07We've mentioned it before,
31:07the one thing about Poro,
31:08he has got a bit of quality.
31:10We've seen it in terms of his deliveries
31:12into the box
31:13and clearly Tottenham
31:15we saw
31:16earlier on there
31:17with a long throw.
31:19They're more than happy
31:20and well within the rights
31:22to put as much pressure
31:23on the
31:24PSG defence
31:25as possible.
31:26Shoot, what's going on there?
31:33There's a lot of two of them
31:33throwing behind the goal.
31:35TSG supporters.
31:39My initial thought
31:40was it was some kind of
31:41variation of the Poznan
31:42but I'm not quite sure.
31:44It's the European champions
31:57who have had the majority
31:59of the ball to this stage
32:00but as yet
32:01neither Vicario
32:02nor Chevalier
32:03are being tested.
32:12Dembele.
32:14Orin Zaire Emery
32:19and that was
32:21intercepted by Poro.
32:24I must say
32:24the two wingbacks
32:25of Tottenham have started
32:26well.
32:26Yeah, they have.
32:40That's good hold-up
32:41play as well
32:41from Richarlison.
32:42Excellent.
32:43Excellent it was.
32:44Here's Van de Vent.
32:49His speed then
32:50teasing up for Jed Spence.
32:52He's got Poro
32:52making the run
32:53into the box
32:53on the other side
32:54as well.
32:55It was a great ball.
32:56Could have done with
32:57just another half yard
32:58on it.
32:59Sarr with the cross.
33:00And that's going to go
33:01right the way through.
33:02That was a lovely ball
33:04inside Hakimi
33:05but the way to the pass
33:06was nearly spot on
33:09because just as I said
33:10another half yard
33:11I think Spence is on to that
33:12could potentially get a penalty
33:13anything could have happened there.
33:15Interesting there though Ali
33:16when it was Spence running down the left
33:18the furthest man forward in the box
33:19was the other wingback
33:20wasn't it?
33:20Petro Poro
33:21given away here
33:24to Bentoncourt.
33:33It's an interesting tactic
33:35isn't it?
33:35Chelsea did it really well
33:36they pressed them
33:37in the World Club Cup final
33:38and it worked.
33:39If it doesn't work
33:40and you leave the space behind
33:42I mean they're the best team
33:43in Europe aren't they
33:44at making you pay
33:46so it's risk and reward
33:47if you go down that route.
33:48That's exactly what it is.
34:06Vitinho
34:21one of the players
34:22who played in all of the
34:23Champions League matches
34:24last season
34:25Dembele looking to try
34:26and get Bradley Barkela
34:27away.
34:30Now Dewey
34:31excellent first touch.
34:33I actually can't believe
34:34how deep
34:35Dembele's been
34:36that's the second time
34:38in the last five minutes
34:39he's actually picked the ball
34:40up in his own half.
34:44With the Spurs back four
34:45or back five
34:46at that time
34:47they've probably been
34:4720-25 yards
34:49on their own goal.
34:54That's a good sign
34:55from Tottenham's point of view.
34:57Vakimi on to Kavar and Scalier.
35:11Dembele losing out there
35:13to Richarlison.
35:15Now off goes
35:16Mohamed Koudas
35:17and Richarlison's gonna take it early
35:21and it was a really good try
35:23from Richarlison
35:25and the first save tonight
35:26for the new goalkeeper
35:27Chevalier
35:28but that was the right thing
35:29for Richarlison to do.
35:31It's amazing.
35:31It's a brilliant move.
35:32Very slack again
35:33from Dembele
35:34and it's too deep.
35:34He's absolutely too deep
35:35for PSG's point of view.
35:37Brilliant from Koudas.
35:38He just waits
35:39for Richarlison running across.
35:40A fantastic run.
35:41Do you know something?
35:42I thought he was gonna hit
35:43a split second earlier
35:45and lift it over the goalkeeper
35:46but he waits for that split second
35:50and he forces the goalkeeper
35:50into a great save.
35:51Off a deflection.
35:52Yes, slight deflection.
35:53Made it spin and loop
35:54a little bit more.
35:58Confidence though
35:58from Richarlison
35:59to take the shot
36:00as early as he did.
36:02In goes the Tottenham corner
36:04and coming on to that
36:05was Rodrigo Bentoncourt.
36:09See, they're doing that
36:10and they're playing it
36:11in that back post area
36:12of Fletch
36:13and they're leaving it
36:14for a late runner
36:14to come in.
36:16Bandeven effectively
36:17is holding off a defender
36:18and he probably should do better
36:19with the header.
36:21It's a free header.
36:27Started okay,
36:27Spurs first quarter.
36:28Yeah, 24 minutes gone.
36:30I know that PSG
36:30have had a lot of the ball
36:31but Vicario's not seen it really.
36:33but they're going to have
36:34a lot of the ball down.
36:35I mention it again,
36:36particularly when they drop
36:37into that back five
36:38and PSG are effectively
36:40playing without a number nine
36:41because Dembele's so deep
36:43so they've got numbers there
36:44but they're going to have
36:45all the ball they want
36:46because at this moment
36:47in time they're not hurting
36:48Tottenham.
36:57So I think it's time
36:58for the water break,
37:00the refreshments.
37:06It gives us time
37:07to tell you about
37:08the game we've got for you
37:09on Saturday,
37:1011 o'clock we start,
37:11Aston Villa
37:12against Newcastle
37:14as the Premier League starts
37:16and we're really excited
37:17about it.
37:17TNT Sports 1
37:19for that game.
37:21The following week
37:22you can see
37:22Manchester City
37:23against Tottenham
37:24which is always
37:25a great fixture
37:25Saturday the 23rd
37:27of August
37:28and that's from
37:2811 o'clock as well.
37:30And the Champions League
37:31playoffs,
37:32we've got live coverage
37:33of the Champions League
37:34playoffs from the 19th
37:35to the 27th of August
37:36which will include
37:37Celtic
37:38and Rangers.
37:39The winners
37:40will all make it
37:41into the league phase
37:42which provided
37:43so much drama
37:44for us
37:45last season.
37:46So that's all to come
37:47Premier League
37:48and then the
37:48Champions League
37:49playoffs
37:49and I know
37:51that the man
37:51alongside me
37:52has a vested interest
37:53in one of those teams
37:54in the Champions League
37:55playoffs.
37:56We endured a very
37:57nervy journey
37:58from the airport
37:58to the hotel
37:59last night
37:59hoping that
38:00Victoria Pilsen
38:01didn't score
38:02any more goals.
38:03Is that correct?
38:03That's 100% correct
38:05and I'm officially
38:07giving the man
38:08of the match
38:08to Jack Butland
38:09if he's listening.
38:09Well done Jack,
38:10great performance mate.
38:12Saved me a lot
38:12of sweat
38:13in that journey.
38:14I was just looking
38:14at that shot again
38:15from Richarlson
38:16done.
38:17The deflection
38:18I think believe it
38:19or not
38:19I know it's a good
38:20save.
38:21The deflection
38:21actually helped
38:22PSG I think
38:23because it's going
38:23right across the
38:24goalkeeper
38:24it looked a good
38:25strike
38:25but anyway
38:26look at
38:28Shevalia dead
38:28well.
38:29Tottenham
38:45team that started
38:45team that started
38:45well tonight
38:46their preseasons
38:47included a win
38:47against Arsenal
38:48in Hong Kong
38:49a draw against
38:50Newcastle in
38:51South Korea
38:51and then a
38:53humbling 4-0 defeat
38:54against Bayern Munich
38:55and Harry Kane
38:56last week.
38:58Tonight they've
38:59been nice and
39:00compact in this
39:01defensive shape
39:02and they've not
39:02allowed the European
39:03champions any
39:04attacking success
39:06in the opening
39:0726 and a half
39:08minutes here in
39:09Oudiné.
39:20Well I mean
39:20this situation's
39:21almost as good
39:22as a corner
39:22isn't it?
39:23Danso's throw
39:23he gets a lot
39:24of distance on it.
39:27And that's what
39:28you're going to do
39:28put it right
39:29and chop it
39:29and look at the
39:29height you've got
39:30in that Tottenham
39:31side.
39:33Danso bends
39:34in the middle
39:34of it all
39:35it was headed
39:35away by Hakimi
39:36for PSG
39:37here's Danso
39:39attack there
39:42by Marquinhos
39:43Petro Poro
39:55looking to get
39:56in behind
39:56Nuno Mendes
39:57the assistant
39:57right there
39:58but happy for
39:59them to be
40:00physical with
40:00each other.
40:01He did well
40:02initially Poro
40:03but he was
40:03livid because
40:04he got out
40:04muscled at
40:05the end.
40:07It's just a
40:07little example
40:08of how
40:08comfortable
40:09Chevalier
40:09is with
40:10the ball
40:10because he
40:10was quite
40:10happy to be
40:11patient
40:11wasn't he
40:12before he
40:12poofed it
40:13away.
40:13you see what
40:34Henrique's done
40:35tonight based on
40:35the fact that
40:36he's not got
40:36he's not going to be
40:37but he's
40:38suspended
40:39but he's
40:39left Ruiz
40:40on the bench
40:40I just wonder
40:41the way Spurs
40:42are playing
40:42whether those
40:43three in midfield
40:44might just be a
40:45better way to
40:45break Tottenham
40:46down because
40:47they're so good
40:47with the short
40:48passes around
40:48the penalty area.
40:49I think
40:51I think
40:51spot on.
40:52Having said that
40:52that's not a bad
40:53route to Bradley
40:54Barkela down
40:54this side and Danco's
40:55got ground to make up
40:56Bradley Barkela running
40:57in here and that's good
40:59defending in the middle
41:00by Papsar.
41:01He did exceptionally well
41:03to get back across
41:03I've got to say
41:06I just think Danco
41:08should have
41:08too much room here
41:10and allows him
41:11to get back in
41:12he allows him
41:13outside in there
41:13look
41:14watch this
41:14don't you
41:16do well enough
41:17defensively
41:18but Saar does
41:18helps him out
41:20big time.
41:29So Marquinhos
41:30and Pasho
41:31the two centre
41:32backs of PSG
41:33have gone forward
41:33for the corner
41:34first one tonight
41:39for Paris Saint-Germain
41:40it's taken by
41:49Vitinia
41:49strange choice
41:54of delivery
41:54from a player
41:55who often gets
41:55his decision
41:56spot on
41:57yeah
41:57very keen
42:01there
42:01he's done well
42:05again
42:06now Spurs
42:07can attack
42:08down this side
42:08through Porro
42:09he's not happy
42:13again
42:13Spence
42:14again
42:14out in that
42:15left hand side
42:16and you made a good
42:16point earlier on
42:17and it was the same
42:18situation there
42:19the two
42:19Tottenham players
42:21that were furthest
42:21up the park
42:22were Porro
42:22and Spence
42:23and Spence
42:24wanted a switch
42:24of play
42:24and probably
42:25should have got
42:25another one
42:26he fancies it out
42:27there against
42:27played with the
42:35played with the 0
42:35at Rennes
42:36didn't he
42:36Jed Spence
42:37so he knows
42:37him really well
42:38he became the
42:40spokesman really
42:41for Dway last season
42:42telling everybody
42:43how good he was
42:43when he really
42:44burst onto the
42:45seat at TSG
42:46Spence
42:50is needed
42:50tonight
42:50because
42:51Destiny Udoggi
42:52is out
42:52with a knee
42:53problem
42:53as is
42:54Kulusevski
42:55Thomas Frank
42:59proving a point
43:01as well
43:02by leaving
43:02Bissouma at home
43:03because he was
43:04late
43:04William Pasha
43:15Dway
43:22fouled by
43:24Richarlison
43:25you can see
43:30the TSG
43:31player in
43:32possession
43:32having to
43:32really think
43:33about it
43:33they're not
43:34able at this
43:35stage to
43:35really flow
43:36are they
43:36showing up
43:38in a loop
43:38Mekimi
43:46trying to
43:47get forward
43:47here
43:47down the
43:48right
43:48Spurs
43:49have got
43:50more numbers
43:50in the middle
43:51than TSG
43:52and that's
43:52sloppy
43:53straight to
43:53Papsar
43:54wasn't it
43:55just
43:55that was
43:56equally sloppy
43:57right now
43:57Desiree Dway
44:05Alcabar at
44:06Scalia
44:07Zairee Emery
44:10treading on
44:10the ball
44:11Tottenham now
44:11with a chance
44:12to counter
44:12and they've got
44:13Pedro Poros
44:14storming forward
44:15down the right
44:16if he looks
44:16that way
44:16here he is
44:17and this time
44:20they do look
44:21for the switch
44:21into Koudis
44:23and Spence
44:23has gone
44:24rampaging
44:24forward
44:25and he's
44:26got the
44:26better of
44:26Kimi
44:27but only
44:28pulled it
44:28back to
44:28Vettinia
44:29that was
44:31excellent
44:32from Spence
44:32it really
44:33was
44:33because it
44:33looked like
44:33lost cause
44:34and he made
44:34it anything
44:35but that
44:36with the
44:36tackle
44:36kept
44:37possession
44:38of the
44:38ball
44:38but again
44:40two wide
44:40boys
44:41very very
44:42good
44:42Poro
44:43on the
44:43right
44:43Spence
44:44on the
44:44left
44:44Poro
44:47doesn't need
44:48much room
44:48to get
44:49the cross
44:49in
44:49that's
44:49a poor
44:50clearance
44:50it's a
44:50great block
44:51by Marquinhos
44:52to make
44:52up for it
44:53that was
44:53hit with
44:54a lot
44:54of power
44:54from
44:55Koudis
44:55it really
44:55was
44:56fletched
44:56but I
44:57thought
44:57for all
44:57intents
44:58and purposes
44:58he was
44:59just going
44:59to drag
44:59it back
45:00onto his
45:00left foot
45:01he's got
45:01the ability
45:02to do
45:02that
45:02the block
45:03was flying
45:03in
45:04and I
45:05just thought
45:06to myself
45:06bring it
45:06back onto
45:07your left
45:07foot
45:07Usman
45:18Dembele
45:19finding
45:19Zaire
45:20Emery
45:20and then
45:21on it
45:22goes
45:22to
45:22Khabar
45:22at
45:22Scalia
45:23the
45:25doubling
45:26doubling
45:26up
45:26on
45:26the
45:26two
45:26wingers
45:27aren't
45:27there
45:27as well
45:27when they
45:28get the
45:28ball
45:28it's
45:28Pelinia
45:29out
45:29there
45:29this
45:29time
45:30helping
45:30Spence
45:30doing
45:31exceptionally
45:31well
45:32Douai
45:39Hakimi
45:41look at Dembele's position
45:43right now
45:43he's not even in the picture
45:44he's just coming in there
45:45now
45:45on the left hand side
45:46Douai's cross
45:47and that's held on to
45:47by
45:48Vicario
45:49I'm amazed
45:51somebody that scores 35 goals
45:52in one season
45:53takes up that position
45:54amazed
45:55I must say
46:02Ali
46:02based on the 33 minutes
46:03we've seen
46:04I thought the Champions League
46:05I expected the Champions League
46:06final to be more like this
46:08than what we saw
46:08I thought
46:09Inter Milan
46:09would slow them down
46:10like this
46:11but I mean
46:11they were just blown away
46:12they're not an easy team
46:14to shackle
46:15but Tottenham are doing it
46:16really well
46:16you have got to factor in as well
46:18that the point we made
46:19really early
46:20they've only been back a week
46:21so they are going to be rusty
46:22of course you have
46:23what I will predict though
46:26if this is the formation
46:27that Tottenham are going to play
46:29for the rest of the season
46:30I can almost guarantee you
46:32that they won't have
46:33the fifth worst
46:34defensive record
46:35in the Premier League
46:35Spurs hard to beat
46:38who thought it
46:39here's Kavara and Scaliot
46:44certainly is a look
46:49that they've gone
46:50from one extreme
46:50to the other
46:51really does
46:52Thomas Frank's been
47:02ever present
47:03on the edge
47:03of the Tottenham
47:03technical area
47:04Henrique's happy
47:07to take a seat
47:07here's Dembele
47:08important foot in
47:11for Spurs
47:13by João Pellini
47:14that's what he's been
47:14brought in from Bayern Munich
47:16to do
47:16Richarlison thought he was
47:17going to get the foul
47:18but he was wrong
47:19and now Dembele's got it
47:20for PSG
47:21but Spencer's got the speed
47:22on that side
47:23to deal with Hakimi
47:24there's Kavara and Scaliot
47:29gets it through the legs
47:46of Spence
47:47and then Dembele
47:48snatches at the first chance
47:50that he's had tonight
47:51first kind of wee half chance
47:53one thing I will say
47:55I don't think there's any doubt
47:56in my mind
47:57he definitely tries to play it
47:58through Spence's legs
47:59he's back to Dembele
48:01just a little bit quick
48:02there's that chance again
48:11just come back onto your left foot
48:14I mean
48:15Marquinhos does well
48:16I would have expected him
48:18just to go back onto
48:19that left foot
48:20give himself a little bit
48:21more space
48:22Munny and Pacho
48:25was in there quickly
48:26he was one of the
48:27revelations last season
48:28one of the breakout players
48:29in Europe
48:30he was very very good
48:31at centre-back
48:31the Paris Saint-Germain
48:33there's Zaire Emery
48:34running stride for stride
48:37with Rodrigo Bentoncourt
48:38he was one of the
48:42stack
48:42he was сумming
48:44there's no way
48:44that wasAmerica
48:46To 0-2-8, well, Ashraf Hakimi.
49:16Vittinia, Dewey, Kovar and Scalia can have a go at Spence again, Danso said it's not the best, here's Zaire Emery, Hakimi, and that's blocked over there by Swell Fellinia.
49:37He's got to let that through, it's a poor header defensively.
49:40Nearly posed himself and his team a problem, communication has to be better, I don't know whether Poros should be talking to him, just let it through you.
49:49It's a rare occurrence when they go 37 minutes without having a shot on target, Paris Saint-Germain.
50:04One back well by Benson Coeur on Nuno Mendes, there's Petro Poro.
50:15I like that, I don't mind that at all.
50:20Yeah, he's earned it, brilliant.
50:23Don't mind that at all, because Mendes was favourite initially.
50:29They refuse to give up on it, look, good shoulder there, good strength, backs into him, protects it, gets his free kick.
50:39I tell you what Ali, if they get the best of Mohamed Koudis for 55 million quid, he's only 25, I mean they can have some player on their hands.
50:50I mean the Koudis that we saw in his first season at West Ham looked like a superstar in waiting, then last season it dropped off a little bit, but he started this game really well tonight.
50:58He can play, don't worry about that.
51:01Spurs free kick taken by Vicario towards Romero, headed in towards van der Ven.
51:15And the chance, oh he's safe in the keeper, but it's in on the follow-up!
51:23And Nicky van der Ven fires Tottenham Hotspur in front in the Super Cup Final.
51:28And the way they played in the first half, they deserve it.
51:37Pretty straight forward goal, asked him a question again, I mentioned to you, before the physicality, long throws, free kicks, that's all it is.
51:46This is an excellent header, it's the goalkeeper actually taking.
51:50The free kick, that's a header, Romero.
51:53Oh, it's brilliant, Bentancur does really well.
51:58And it's finished like a centre-forward, it really is.
52:02That's a great, that's a brilliant save, I'll tell you right now, that is a brilliant save.
52:07Bentancur really reacts to it, brilliant save, but what about the centre-back here?
52:11On the move, like a centre-forward, great finish, and deserved.
52:17And look at him down there, Thomas Frank.
52:21And the wide smile on the face of Nicky van der Ven, who had a stop-start season, didn't he?
52:27He only played 22 times for Tottenham, he had a real problem with injuries last season, hamstring injuries in the main.
52:33But he's turned up tonight in this new look Spurs, they're just checking the goal, Thiago Martins, the video assistant, he's having a look at it.
52:42I must say, I didn't see anything initially that would concern me, the check is over and the goal's down.
52:46Yeah, the only thing was the initial free kick from the goalkeeper, Vecario.
52:49But do you know something, getting back to the goal, Fletch, what are Tottenham doing really, really well, obviously defensively, they've been excellent in the opening 40 minutes.
52:59But when given a chance, they're trying to give PSG a physical problem, and it's working.
53:06Mention the long throw, mention the diagonal free kick, free kicks into the box, what are they not, what are PSG very good at?
53:14Passing the ball, little intricate passing, what are they not so good at? A little bit of physicality defending, and put under pressure.
53:21Chelsea did it, Villa did it, Tottenham have done it in the first half.
53:25Well, there's Raul Pellinia in, he played a big hand in the goal, it was his shot that was tipped onto the bar by Chevalier,
53:30and then the man who reacted quickest was Micky van der Ben, and it's his name that's been being sung by the Tottenham supporters.
53:37Think about the impact he had in the Europa League final, that clearance off the line was just about as important as Brennan Johnson's goal.
53:42It certainly was, it really, really was.
53:48You're right, I mean, I think it's Ben Taku goes up initially for the header, the ball balls to Pellinia, it's a brilliant save.
53:54It really is, he gets a touch on the crossbar, and Micky van der Ben's on the move.
53:58And the Spurs fans are thinking, we know what we are, champions of Europe, and they're beating the European champions,
54:08the Champions League winners here in Udine tonight.
54:12There's Nuno Mendes, three and a half minutes to go, plus stoppage time in this first half, and Bradley Barkala gets away from Pedro Poro down this side, PSG looking for the response, but both Pellinia and Danso got across there sharply for Spurs.
54:38Spurs, just done that goal for Micky van der Ben, the first one he scored for Tottenham for 15 months.
54:42There you are.
54:44There you are.
54:46That's exactly what Spurs have done really well first half, even when Barkala gets by Toro, the cover come across from Danso.
54:52They've teamed up really, really well.
54:54Vicario defending the end where the Spurs supporters are, happy at the moment with the scoreline, Dewey with the shot, took a deflection, that spins behind for another one.
55:06We sat and had lunch earlier today, and the restaurant we were at was predominantly a Tottenham restaurant.
55:20Certainly was.
55:21It's fair to say they were nervous in general, they were looking forward to it, but they were nervous, but they're gonna be happy now, aren't they?
55:26Yeah, I'm sure they should be.
55:29A little flick back by Dewey, that might not have been the right decision, it didn't really give Dembele a chance.
55:34They were a little bit nervous, weren't they true, the Tottenham fans, but there was no shortage of optimism as well as you would expect.
55:40I think the optimism got higher the longer the afternoon went on for obvious reasons away from home at the football.
55:52I mean, he's not seen the ball, has he, Vicario?
55:54He's not, he's not.
55:55Defensively sound has been the watchword for Spurs in the first half, and there they are, the fans in the white shirts behind the goal.
56:03That was another crazy start, wasn't it, I was looking at it, it's not as if PSG are unaccustomed to playing English side,
56:14I think eight of their 17 games in the Champions League last year were against English sides.
56:19So they know what to expect, that's for sure.
56:25Yeah, they won five of those matches against the English club sides,
56:29they went round after round, didn't they, for a period in the Champions League.
56:32They won five of those matches against the Champions League.
56:35Kudus.
56:38Gets away from Pacho really well, it clips the cross, it's too deep though, Spence is gonna chase it, hit the first bit really well.
56:44The first bit deserved better from the second bit, that was for sure.
56:47Oh, the first bit deserved better from the second bit, that was for sure.
57:02Well, it's Vicky van der Ven's goal that separates these two teams late in the first half here on a hot night in Oudenae.
57:17And that's Tottenham playing in a Super Cup final for the first time, lead the Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.
57:24There's your man.
57:30Kevin Danso ready for another one.
57:36The first time it's headed away by Kabar and Scalier.
57:42Spence.
57:43There's one minute of additional time as it goes in towards Richarlison, it's off the post.
57:51It was Kudus, I think, throwing himself at that.
57:55And Spurs inches away from being 2-0 up.
57:58It's the early leap, brilliant Richarlison.
58:01We'll see it very shortly, but it's all about, he jumps early.
58:06They're struggling with height in the middle of that defence.
58:11And Tottenham have focused on it.
58:14And they're asking them questions and they're not getting answered.
58:20That was a brilliant early leap from Richarlison, it really was, that's the reason he gets up and gets the touch.
58:26What a fantastic first half it's been for Spurs.
58:30And of course when you've got a new manager, the slate's wide clean.
58:33Of course it is.
58:34Players that you presume are going to be starters might not be if you can impress the new player.
58:38And one or two out there tonight are probably sending Thomas Frank a message.
58:44Certainly looks that way, and so they should.
58:47Clean slate, you're off and running.
58:50Well, there's half-time.
58:55And it's Miki van der Ven, whose name is up in lights at the moment.
59:02And the Spurs goal, there's confirmation of the on-site decision against Romero.
59:06Raul Pellini's shot was saved superbly onto the crossbar by Lucas Chevalier.
59:10But the Tottenham defender was nearest to it to score his first goal for the club for 15 months.
59:15Kudus hit the post just before half-time with the header.
59:18As yet, Paris Saint-Germain have had 65% of the ball that haven't had a shot on target.
59:24And Tottenham's tactics under Thomas Frank are working quite brilliantly here on a sticky night in Oudanay.
59:30Half-time in the Super Cup final as Tottenham walk off.
59:33It's Paris Saint-Germain nil, Tottenham Hotspur one.
59:36SPUR one.
59:37SPUR one.
