00:00When it comes to Celtic criticisms of the board and the summer transfer window like it was in the winter and even to a certain extent last summer until they spent quite heavily late on in the window where Adamida and Ernie Ingalls are back about.
00:15We've seen quite a lot of Benjamin Negrin and Kieran Tierney, but the rest of them we haven't really seen quite a lot of.
00:21Shin Yamada came off the bench against Aberdeen, but Ross Doohan, Hayato Inamura, Kyle Mosman played in the Challenge Cup midweek for the B team against Clyde.
00:32Do you understand those criticisms? Do you think they're fair and do you think Brendan Rodgers will get that back in before the end of summer?
00:39Because I think he's becoming quite clear with his press conferences that he's cutting quite a frustrated figure.
00:45Yeah, he's kind of been harping on, making the same point, isn't he, over the last couple of weeks about how he's just keen to focus on the players he's kind of working with at this moment in time.
00:55I think Celtic fans are right to criticise the board over the lack of investment.
01:01We know that Celtic are cash rich in order to, if they really want to become a proper Champions League club like the supporters say they are,
01:13then they need to start investing a bit more money to strengthen that squad because at this moment in time Celtic are weaker than they were at the end of last season.
01:25And given their financial strength at this moment in time and the kind of slow nature of the recruitment,
01:35I can hugely understand supporters' frustrations.
01:38Obviously Brendan Rodgers kind of banged on about how Celtic are notoriously late when it comes to conducting their transfer dealings
01:47in order to kind of get the key players that they want in.
01:55For me, from a generic football fan's point of view,
02:01I hate when clubs leave their business until the last day or two in the transfer window.
02:07I don't see the need of it.
02:08You've had the full summer to get guys in.
02:10And Rodgers has spoken a lot about how pre-season is for implementing your ideas,
02:16getting that across to the new signings.
02:18I don't see how it benefits getting players in so late in the window.
02:23And it's been disappointing, hasn't it?
02:25Because we've only really seen in flashes what the new signings can bring to the table.
02:32Like, so Benjamin Negrin, who's shown up well.
02:35But as you say, the likes of Shin Yamada and guys like that.
02:37Callum Osmond doesn't look like he's going to be part of that Rodgers' short-term plans around the first team anyway.
02:46So, yeah, given the position they find themselves in,
02:50the money is there to be spent and they are refusing to do it,
02:53then I can totally understand fans' disgruntlement.
