Palace vows balanced review of P1 jeepney fare increase  Malacañang assures the public that the government will study the proposed P1 increase in public utility jeepney fares to determine its impact on commuters and operators. In a press conference on Aug. 14, 2025, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that public consultations and meetings with officials and stakeholders would also be held to ensure a balanced approach. Last week, several transport groups, led by Pasang Masda, sought a P1 provisional fare increase to ease the burden on jeepney drivers amid rising pump prices.
