PAO, Task Force on Media Security sign MOA  Public Attorney's Office chief Persida Rueda-Acosta shows the memorandum of agreement forged with Presidential Task Force on Media Security Executive Director Jose Torres Jr. at the PAO's central office in Quezon City on July 11, 2025. 00:05Kayong lahat po iyon, mga kasama na din sa media.

00:09In a democracy, a free and vibrant press is essential to informing the public,

00:14holding power to account and shaping the national discourse.

00:17However, we are still faced with challenges that threaten the safety of those who perform this role.

00:24Violence, threats, and intimidation against media professionals

00:28remain concerns that require a united and concerned response,

00:32concerted response from all sectors involved in safeguarding press freedom.

00:38The collaboration between the PT forms and the Public Attorney's Office

00:42is instrumental in ensuring that acts of violence against media practitioners

00:47are thoroughly investigated, prosecuted, and ultimately, that justice is heard.

00:54It is also key to fostering an environment where journalists,

00:58can operate freely and without fear, knowing that there is a strong support system in place.

01:04I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Public Attorney's Office,

01:10especially to Chief Perciida Acosta,

01:12for her unwavering dedication and steadfast commitment to press freedom and media safety.

01:18Her leadership and advocacy inspire us all to continue strengthening our efforts

01:25in protecting those who work tirelessly to uphold our right to information.

01:30Ma'am Acosta's dedication reflects the genuine concern of the PAO for the welfare of media professionals,

01:37and her support is truly instrumental in driving our shared mission forward.

01:44As we renew this agreement today, we reaffirm our dedication to pursuing the mandate of the task force

01:50to protect media workers, uphold the role of law, and promote accountability at every level.

01:58The work we do together is crucial in strengthening the rule of law,

02:03promoting transparency, and reinforcing the fundamental rights enshrined in our Constitution.

04:09siyempre ang buong pwersa ng mga media

04:14ay sama-sama po kami magtutulong-tulong upang

04:18maibigay ang buong karapatansang ayon sa konstitusyon

04:21para sa ating mga kapatid sa media

04:24kamakailan lamang ay mayroong isang pinatay na media sa Jensan

04:29kawaawa na di malang binigyan ang due process

04:35ang inihiling ko po sa mga may kapangyarihan o politiko

04:41kung may galit tayo sa mga reporter, broadcaster, writer, journalist

04:47na hindi kasuhan natin sa core

04:49bakit natin kailangang kitlin ang kanilang buhay o saktan
