Porthmadog manager Chris Jones giver his verdict on 2-0 win against Felinheli

00:00That is Tuesday night under the lights of the triath and a 2-0 win against Veli and Heli.

00:05A good result, Chris, again.

00:07Yeah, I thought that the first half performance was probably our best so far

00:11in terms of what we're actually asking the team to do,

00:14how we want to move the ball, how we want to win the ball back

00:17and the actual shape we played with.

00:19I know it took 20 minutes really to start breaking them down,

00:22but I was really happy with the first half performance and the commitment to it.

00:25I think with the weather conditions and a few other things,

00:28the second half was probably, you know, we dropped off a lot,

00:31but that's just football.

00:33Sometimes it's a game of two halves and I don't think they really wanted to come and win in the second half.

00:37It was a little bit like they sat in a little bit and we didn't really want to extend ourselves either,

00:41so we just sort of saw the game out and it's a good result in the end.

00:44A clean sheet and a chance to bring blood some youngsters as well from the bench.

00:48Yeah, I mean, that's three clean sheets now, four clean sheets,

00:51so it's a good start offensively from us.

00:54And yeah, obviously that was something that maybe we didn't do enough last season,

00:57in clean sheets, we scored enough goals,

00:59but defensively we probably conceded too many in the end,

01:01so it's been a good start in that regard.

01:03So Saturday, we've got an away game at Bethesda,

01:06which is another difficult opponent.

01:09Yeah, we said to the lads obviously this week we're targeting three wins

01:13and we've ticked two of them off,

01:14but I think Bethesda have had a good start,

01:16they've had a good win tonight,

01:17so we're expecting a really tough challenge

01:18and just try to use the momentum of the last two games to kick on into that one.

01:21No injuries tonight?

01:23No, no injuries, just everyone a bit tired with the heat I think.
