Donald Trump has thrown a major wrench into Vladimir Putin’s highly anticipated Alaska summit plans, allegedly sabotaging a proposed territory swap deal just hours before the meeting. The unexpected move has sparked diplomatic shockwaves, raising questions over whether the Trump-Putin talks can proceed at all or if the summit is doomed before it even starts.
01:00Zelensky was saying, well, I have to get constitutional approval.
01:04I mean, he's got approval to go into war and kill everybody, but he needs approval to do a land swap because there'll be some land swapping going on.
01:13I know that through Russia and through conversations with everybody to the good, for the good of Ukraine.
01:21Good stuff, not bad stuff.
01:22Also, some bad stuff for both.
01:25So it's good and there's bad.
01:26But it's very complex because you have lines that are very uneven and there'll be some swapping.
01:32There'll be some changes in land.
01:35And the word that they will use is, you know, they make changes.
01:39We're going to change the lines, the battle lines.
01:42Russia's occupied a big portion of Ukraine.
01:45They've occupied some very prime territory.
01:48We're going to try and get some of that territory back for Ukraine.
01:50But they've taken some very prime territory.
01:52They've taken largely ocean.
01:56You know, in real estate, we call it oceanfront property.
01:58That's always the most valuable property.
02:00If you're in a lake, a river or an ocean, it's always the best property.
02:04We're going to try and do it really well.
02:04We're going to try and do it really well.
02:04We're going to try and do it really well.
02:34We're going to meet with, I would say, the second meeting.
02:43If the first one goes okay, we'll have a quick second one.
02:47I would like to do it almost immediately.
02:50And we'll have a quick second meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky and myself,
02:56if they'd like to have me there.
02:58And that would be a meeting where maybe it could be absolutely work.
03:01But the first meeting will not work that out.
03:03Certain great things can be gained in the first.
03:06It's going to be a very important meeting.
03:08But it's setting the table for the second meeting.
03:11I think the second meeting, if the second meeting takes place,
03:14now there may be no second meeting because if I feel that it's not appropriate to have it
03:20because I didn't get the answers that we have to have,
03:23then we're not going to have a second meeting.
03:31Will Russia face any consequences if Vladimir Putin does not agree to stop the war after your meeting on Friday?
03:58Yes, they will.
04:00What will there be consequences?
04:01There will be consequences.
04:02Sanctions, tariffs?
04:03There will be.
04:04I don't have to say.
04:04There will be very severe consequences.
