00:00We want to be as transparent and open as possible, so the College of Policing have brought forward information around when someone is charged, name and addresses are often given out to include now nationality and ethnicity, unless there's a good reason why that shouldn't be included.
00:18And obviously this goes back to what happened last year in Southport and those very appalling murders that took place.
00:24We asked the Law Commission at that stage to do some work about what more information could be disclosed.
00:30We obviously do not want to prejudice any court proceedings, so that's why we've been very careful about this.
00:36But the police, in conjunction with the CPS, can now make those decisions at charge about what the information is that they should release.
00:44And as I said, the Prime Minister, the Home Secretary, very keen to be as open and transparent as possible without prejudicing any future legal proceedings.
