00:00I think I've found the perfect car boot sale. There's lots of stalls, great bargains, and the atmosphere is great.
00:06Hi, I'm here today at Monmouth Showground Car Boot, and look how busy it is.
00:10You can see the amount of cars and people and stalls behind me today.
00:14This is the perfect place if you're looking to declutter your house, or you just want a good bargain.
00:19My name's Paul Smith. I'm running the car boot in Monmouth, Monmouth Showground,
00:25and it's been running for about 10 years here now, and what we've got is we've got a lovely sunny day for it today,
00:35and we've got about 100 or so cars queuing up at the moment, and the cars start coming on.
00:42We let the cars onto the field at 10 o'clock, and so we start parking them in at 10,
00:48and they set for all their stuff out, so by 11 o'clock, they're all up and running.
00:53So the boot sale is advertised from 11 to 2.30, and we'll get hundreds of buyers coming in,
01:02so hopefully all the sellers will have a great day and sell loads, that's what we want.
01:08And a marvellous site. We've got lovely, lovely surroundings with all the trees and beautiful setting and everything,
01:15and we've got flushing toilets with running water, which is quite a thing for a boot sale,
01:23and we've got tea vans, ice cream vans, everything here.
01:28And as I say, we'll be letting them on very shortly, and all the cars go nose to tail,
01:35so there's no risk of getting your car damaged by people opening the doors into you,
01:41and you've got loads and loads of space, because they're all going from nose to tail,
01:46and your tables go along the side of the car.
01:48Well, I was an electrical engineer, but I was taught to make sticks by my grandfather.
02:06I think I made my first stick when I was about 12 years of age,
02:09and I've carried on making them ever since.
02:12So they could have come from Scotland, they could have come from anywhere.
02:14There was something for everyone, from handmade sticks to teddies, bric-a-brac,
02:19Mom of Showground car boot had plenty on offer.
02:26So we've come to Mom of Showground today, to the car boots.
02:30We came here last week just to have a look around, and it was very busy,
02:34so we thought we'd clear out some stuff in the house.
02:37What doesn't sell today, we'll either come and do another one, or go to a charity shop.
02:42There were snacks and refreshments, I even got a slushie, and it was really nice.
02:48So if you're visiting Monmouth on holiday, or if you just want a good bargain,
