00:00As long as you don't overstep your mark, or you're already kind of overtaking, or by the speed limit, then you're all good.
00:06So, turn 15, when they get past this, the lights go green.
00:13And there's going to be a mad rush for turn 1, as there always is.
00:20So here we go, it's race 1, round 2.
00:24For the MT category, in MTCC 2025, and they're off.
00:32And there you go, everyone's fighting for that inside line.
00:35A couple of people going wide, actually.
00:39Oh, that is, you know what, that's going to be very difficult.
00:45That's another one that's gone three cars in 444 now.
00:50Absolute chaos before you return 1.
00:52I would, you know what, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a restart.
00:58That is a lot of debris on the front straights.
01:02And we have a red flag.
01:04Yeah, that's what I thought.
01:06Well, how that actually happened, I didn't see.
01:10That car just started careening off in the middle.
01:12But when you've got this many cars on the track, that's what can happen.
01:15It was a domino effect.
01:16This is very uncharacteristic, G.
01:17We've never seen such a chaotic start.
01:19I have, I mean, when there were 20 cars on the grid, I saw one, but only two cars get affected.
01:24But when you've got 41 cars on the grid, that is a domino effect.
01:29Five cars are done, and it looks like one of them is trying to walk off a bit of a knock to the knee.
01:35In fact, can't even walk it off.
01:37Who is that?
01:37121, that is Alistair Yung.
01:43Or either that.
01:44I mean, it looks like Alistair Yung.
01:46It doesn't look like Genevieve at all.
01:47So that's one of the actual sports cars.
01:51And that is Alistair Yung's boy.
01:55I do hope he's okay.
01:56At least he's standing up, I guess.
01:58But he's going to have to get medics to have a look at that.
02:01So now let's have a look back.
02:03Where was the actual car that lost it?
02:06It started off with Andrade Putra, yes, Andrade Putra, MT2G, a leader.
02:13Who we just spoke to, the 24-hour car.
02:15Yes, and that created a ripple effect.
02:17That's a domino effect there.
02:18As you can see, Genevieve, barely the feel has ever taken the first turn yet.
02:24Yeah, half the grid was just cut in half, essentially.
02:29So we're going to have to wait and find out now exactly what the protocol is.
02:33But they're going to have to get rid of, well, they're going to have to move those cars off the front grid.
02:38And then they're going to have to really check the front straight.
02:41Because that is one of the fastest spots on the course.
02:44So confirmation of the cars that have been taken out of contention.
02:48We have the axle spot, Genevieve Pui, Alistair Yung.
02:51Our MT2G leader, Henry Adiputra, Adi Rahimi.
02:56And we also have car 611.
02:59That's Azri Laha and Lee Zuan Yan from Bay Racing.
03:02Three cars that have felt the full brunt of it.
03:08Maybe from the back we can actually see what happened to that original 24 car.
03:11It just started steering off to the left.
03:13Yeah, exactly.
03:14Steering off to the left.
03:16No, steering off to the right, sorry.
03:18And then there, right there.
03:22And then it just careened off.
03:23So I don't know if that was a steering lock problem.
03:25I don't know if, I mean, it's highly unlikely.
03:28It's just all the eagerness to hug the inside line in anticipation for turn one.
03:31That wasn't hugging the inside line.
03:33I mean, that was making a beeline for the wall.
03:35I'm not being funny.
03:37You know, the car was facing towards the wall.
03:41Yeah, it could have been a steering issue.
03:43I have a funny feeling it was a steering problem.
03:46And that's a dangerous place to have a steering problem.
03:49But then, of course, you can't tell when you're going to have a steering problem.
03:52It's not something you predict.
03:53And we hope that Alistair Young or Genevieve Pui...
03:55That's the most important thing.
03:56For me, the most important thing that Alistair Young is okay.
03:59He looks like from all the drivers that were involved, he was the one that was limping
04:02and struggling to limp as well.
04:05So I just hope that he gets that checked out as soon as possible.
04:09And, you know, in these kind of situations, you've got to look at any positive angle.
04:15He was standing up.
04:16Yeah, he was standing up.
04:17He got out of the car.
04:18And great to see the medics...
04:19But you're right.
04:20To see the injury in, you know, MTCC.
04:24This is my first MTCC race.
04:26So I'm, of course, making, you know, comparisons back to MCS.
04:30But you see shunts.
04:31But there's 41 cars on the grid.
04:33So absolutely anything can happen.
04:36As you saw that one car went wrong, five cars get affected.
04:39So there is a knock-on effect.
04:41We should just be thankful.
04:43It wasn't 10 cars that were affected.
04:44It wasn't 12 cars that were affected.
04:46Yeah, precisely.
04:47And it also goes to show that no matter how much of preparations you put in to get
04:50the car ready.
04:51You know, things like this are just unforeseen and sometimes you can't help it.
04:55If it was a steering problem, if the steering column went for any reason, there's absolutely no computer in the world that is going to tell you that's going to happen.
05:05That's just going to snap.
05:06Because they had barely even started.
05:07I presume that they were only in second or third gear, you know, just getting ready in anticipation.
05:14I'm sure that you probably turned the steering wheel to try and get nearer to the inside line.
05:19Yeah.
05:19But, you know, you don't oversteer like that.
05:22We'll have a look at it again.
05:23I said, look at where his bonnet is pointing at the end and it's towards the wall.
05:28That is not looking for the line.
05:31That was a direct V-line for the wall.
05:34And then, of course, bounces back.
05:35That's what caused the big problem.
05:38Yeah, I think he was just shocked at how the car reacted.
05:43But as I said, you can have computers that can judge whether your engine is over-revving or whether it's too hot or whether it's too cold.
05:51You can, you know, have visual indicators as to tires, whether they're too bald or too...
05:56But you're never going to know when a steering column is going to break.
06:01And that's what happened.
06:01And the spillover effect of hitting the wall, the car just spun back right into the middle of the grid.
06:08And that is what has caused the entire build-up.
06:11They are road cars.
06:14I noticed when I was watching the replays, sorry, the highlights and stuff as well.
06:19There's a Mercedes A45.
06:21Yeah, that was for Zilalang.
06:22Yeah.
06:23And I said, that's a beautiful all-around car.
06:25A little bit on the top end of the touring car class.
06:29But all of these other cars are road cars, but they have been tweaked for racing.
