00:00Ahead of us round 9, race 2 in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine to the inside of the circuit will be Matteo Di Paolo and to the left will be Enzo Deligni on pole position and we are go here at Hockenheim for race 2 and it's a great start from Enzo Deligni, a bit of a poor getaway from Di Paolo but he will hold on to second position, oh and an incident straight away and that is the number 10 of Nikita Bedrin who is off there, one of the trident cars has gone with him which
00:29is the number 5 trident of Rikki Liu and we're immediately going to see a safety car in this race, if not more, 2 cars off out of the race, there we can see Rikki Liu who has gone over the top of Nikita Bedrin, a big incident down to the first corner, looked like Nikita Bedrin had made contact, spun into the path of Rikki Liu, had absolutely nowhere to go, out front the race continuing on and Deligni is
00:59defending from Di Paolo in third and fourth, it is the two ARTs of Carto and Giltere, Freddy Slater hanging on and good to see both drivers climbing out of the car and walking away from that one and a safety car is out and that's no surprise, it's going to be a case of getting those cars retrieved given the positions they found themselves in but good to see we've got both cars out
01:29I think he's going to be having a trip to the stewards for that one but I think he is very frustrated and wants to get away from that very quickly
01:36but we've got Rikki Liu who's climbed over the barrier and is going to get out of the race and Nikita Bedrin, well he didn't clearly want to see any more of that but has done something there he shouldn't have and walked straight over the circuit, safety car is out and we will get these guys out and we will get the
01:59safety cars retrieved and Rikki Liu being shown to go over the barrier safely and get himself to the side of the circuit
02:08Enzo Deligni then will take us over the start finish line, safety car is out, there you can see the difference, one camera change, bang between two corners and look at the difference in conditions on the camera and we've got one where it looks bone dry, this one it looks sketchy, sketchy.
02:28making a move down there will be very brave won't it but let's take stock of what's happened we've had an incident between Bedrin and Liu there they've both gone off into the first corner both drivers have jumped out the car safely and now it's about getting those cars retrieved let's find out what happened then so we're looking for the blue and white livery of Nikita Bedrin to the left of screen it's he's gone to the inside there of Nando
02:55Nando Binambakti come back across he's made contact with Nando Binambakti and he's gone straight into the path of Rikki Liu I mean that's it seems just a racing incident for me he was trying to take a racing line into the corner three into the corner didn't quite see that Binambakti had a car on his outside which was Rikki Liu it was rear wheel to front wheel contact which has speared him straight into the path of Rikki Liu I don't really think we can apportion any blame to either driver there that's just a
03:25really unfortunate incident and thankfully that car did not go over the top even further the halo that is why it exists so that those incidents don't escalate further
03:36but good to see that they were both okay after that one Rikki Liu's car it didn't end up upside down the barrier doing its job and Rikki Liu climbs out of the car a disappointing end
03:49for him he was showing good pace fighting for the top 10 Nikita Bedrin I probably were a little bit confused at how that all played out really
03:57but a real shame
04:00and we go under the safety car well that incident will be investigated after the race
04:09I'd be surprised to see any penalties come of that to be honest I think that's a purely just a racing incident three three wide into the first corner
04:18one driver goes a millimeter wide and you can see incidents like that happen all the time it's just a really unfortunate incident
04:27well the safety team getting to work and they've retrieved Rikki Liu's car
04:32De Ligny will not mind these laps ticking down at all in terms of the wet runners Maschio made four places I mean two of those at the expense of these two drivers here
04:46uh but uh did make two further and he's up to 15th uh Alma Sergi made five places and again two of those at the expense of the two drivers we've lost

04:59push to pass is disabled remember so we don't have to worry about the use of that this is
05:06going to be just a straight fight to to the line essentially
05:11uh but this might take a couple of laps to clear up and the uh the marshals are doing the
05:16best job they can we've got a always a great safety team everywhere we go we thank the marshals for their service
05:22in the 98 races we've completed now let's watch this one more time so Nikita Bedrin
05:28there were look we're actually even four wide at one point he's coming across
05:31to try and take the racing line and uh
05:34I mean I I think it'd be harsh to uh to really penalize him he's
05:38to penalize anyone there Nando Birambakti is just in the middle of the circuit
05:43I don't think I think Nikita Bedrin has misjudged
05:46uh the amount of space he has to his left there
05:50and come into the path and of Birambakti and that speared him into the side of Ricky Liu
05:56Liu might have other opinions on that but for me
05:59that is just a pure racing incident
06:02of course the consequences are quite big because look at the damage to Ricky Liu's car
06:10but the main thing is we've got two drivers walking away from that incident
