00:00up at the wildlife animal hospital a new patient has arrived a baby white rhino and johan and the
00:09team know all too well that every rhino saved has a knock-on effect for the future of the population
00:17emma jackson the veterinary nurse will be taking charge of the intensive care phase of this rhino's
00:24rehabilitation program and although a daunting challenge she has tremendous support and a vast
00:30well of experience in the form of dr johan feeding is going to be up to you that's the difficult part
00:38i think what we try and do is um if we can perhaps blindfold him actually just hang the blindfold
00:45around his eyes and then you see what you can do in the process here he messed up all the bales but
00:52i think we must try and perhaps back the bales as a barrier because look if you need you on the
00:57knee it might break your leg yeah if the blindfolds on i think you'll be a lot calmer yeah we try that
01:04but i would say most important to get the milk is quite strong to get the blood glucose up
01:10sometimes when they're weak it's actually easier you can work with it but the risk is much bigger
01:15but shall we see yeah okay okay okay okay okay he's obviously very lively and i don't think we're
01:29going to manage to blindfold him without sedating him um first price is not to make it asleep but uh
01:35if we don't have an option we'll have to have to get that truth but shall we try once more with a bit of a
01:39bigger towel okay let's go and dart him
