00:00For NBC News, the star anchor's departure is an enormous loss.
00:04Lauer has been the face of the network during pivotal news events.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:09And today, we're counting down our picks for the most infamous times.
00:13Journalists, TV reporters, pundits, and news anchors saw their careers evaporate
00:18due to a scandal they were involved in.
00:20Fox News Channel moving on with one less factor on its network.
00:23Bill O'Reilly was fired yesterday.
00:26Number 30.
00:28Angel Cardenas.
00:29In 2019, Good Day Sacramento visited the Sacramento International Auto Show
00:34to show off the car event at the Cal Expo with the help of Cardenas.
00:38This weekend, you can come out and find about 562 cars.
00:44Wrong.
00:46563, Angel.
00:47563.
00:48The segment started off pretty normal.
00:50But once the reporter admitted he was winging it, it soon went downhill.
00:54While showcasing rare vintage motors, Cardenas then lay on the vehicle.
00:59But it got worse when he opened the door of another, causing it to smack into a nearby car.
01:04Finally, to finish the segment, he jumped onto the hood of a modern one,
01:08causing someone off-camera to try to get him off.
01:11Oh my gosh.
01:13That didn't sound good.
01:15I would get off that now.
01:16Yikes.
01:17Seemingly, CBS affiliate KMAX TV agreed as the local news channel fired Cardenas.
01:23Number 29.
01:24Scarlett Ficar.
01:26Usually, TV news reporters shouldn't announce their political allegiances as their work could
01:30be seen as having bias.
01:32Well, in 2016, Scarlett Ficar ignored this completely.
01:36I posted something personal to my private Facebook page regarding the election, saying
01:44that I was happy that Donald Trump had won.
01:47While working as a reporter for Fox affiliate KRIV-TV, a company she'd only joined the year
01:53before, she released a statement on Facebook the day after Donald Trump's first presidential
01:58victory.
01:58Ficar was giddy with delight, talking about praying for Trump's win, and then heavily
02:04criticized the former President Barack Obama and his administration.
02:08She also slipped in some racial bias about crime.
02:11Ficar apologized for her words following backlash and was soon fired.
02:16I just feel that they have misconstrued this whole situation and wrongfully terminated.
02:23Number 28.
02:24TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.
02:27Chemistry between co-hosts on a news show is great.
02:30However, when it goes too far, it can become a problem.
02:33You all were talking about that pre.
02:34That was your pre-TJ days.
02:36So, uh, so I got roped into this, and this was actually cool, yes.
02:39In 2020, Holmes and Robach became the co-hosts of ABC's GMA3, What You Need to Know.
02:46Only two years later, it all came crashing down.
02:49It was discovered that Holmes and Robach had been having an intimate relationship, despite
02:53both being married to other people.
02:55The hosts were immediately pulled off the air as ABC investigated.
02:59A couple of months later, they were both fired.
03:02Holmes and Robach stayed together, even getting divorced from their former spouses, as they
03:06went on to create a podcast together.
03:08You know what we're getting to do now is to talk and deliver news the way we wish we would
03:11have when we were on TV.
03:13Strangely, in 2024, reports came out that both their exes had started dating each other as
03:19well.
03:20Number 27.
03:21John Warwick
03:22In 2016, U.S. Weekly released an interview with Chrissy Teigen.
03:27Oh, I'm already having so much fun.
03:28I kind of bounced right back into the stream of work and, yeah, cooking again.
03:33It's been really fun.
03:34This seemingly innocuous article led to a snowball effect that smashed into the journalistic
03:39career of Warwick, who conducted the interview.
03:42Once the article titled Chrissy Teigen, We're Hiring a Night Nurse for Baby, was published,
03:47Teigen criticized it on X, formerly Twitter.
03:50She questioned the headline, deeming that it was set up that way to make her look bad.
03:55You just kind of throw things out there and you don't know that you don't really think
03:58about the impact.
03:59Warwick responded to Teigen on the platform to defend himself and point out that he didn't
04:03write the headline.
04:04However, the big mistake was when he went to prove it by publishing screenshots of quotes
04:09he'd sent to the editor.
04:11Due to the breach, Warwick was fired.
04:13Number 26.
04:15Desiree Fontaine
04:16Usually, news reporters report on the news.
04:19After all, it's in the title.
04:21However, Fontaine decided to make the news for all the wrong reasons instead.
04:25In 2010, the morning news traffic reporter and host of Connecticut Style at ABC affiliate
04:31station WTNH-TV was at a Sears in Milford, Connecticut.
04:35Fontaine was accused of shoplifting $105 worth of items, for which she was soon arrested and
04:41charged.
04:42After pleading not guilty, the charges against Fontaine were dismissed unless she committed
04:47another crime within 13 months due to having completed 25 hours of community service.
04:52At the same time, Fontaine resigned from WTNH and announced her plan to do volunteer work
04:57abroad.
04:58Number 25.
05:00Colleen Campbell
05:01Instead of a nice night watching comedians at the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia,
05:05Pennsylvania, Campbell had a much nastier time.
05:09I stood there and laughed and the rest of the audience like I should.
05:14Okay?
05:15I did not disrupt anybody.
05:17While a reporter for PHL 17, she was asked to leave the club after drinking heavily.
05:22While outside speaking to the police, comedian Will Silvins recorded the interaction, which
05:27got progressively worse for Campbell.
05:29She went on an expletive tirade against the officer, who amazingly took it in his stride.
05:35Then Campbell seemingly spat on a club employee, resulting in her arrest.
05:39As the video went viral and she publicly apologized, Campbell claimed she received thousands of threats.
05:45She was soon fired from PHL 17.
05:48Campbell has since retrained as a meteorologist for news channels.
05:51We have a lot of rain that's working through the region for my friends down around Fort Myers,
05:57Naples.
05:57You guys have it first.
05:59Number 24.
06:00Jason Blair
06:01In 2003, The New York Times editor James Roberts received a phone call that led to Blair's career
06:07collapsing.
06:08And for me, it wasn't the decision to do something horrible, it was the decision just to survive
06:14today, which then unraveled, and unraveled, and snowballed.
06:19A senior editor at the San Antonio Express News told him that Blair's article for The Times
06:24was very similar to that of theirs by Macarena Hernandez, which had been released over a week
06:31before.
06:31The floodgates soon opened as an investigation found a massive collection of articles by
06:36Blair had either been plagiarized from other sources or contained lies about incidents.
06:41The Times wrote a scathing report about the investigation as Blair resigned.
06:45I resigned and I left the building the last time, and I don't even know where I went afterwards.
06:56He soon released a memoir that detailed what happened.
06:58A combination of discovery, after the investigation concluded that he had bipolar disorder, on
07:04top of substance use, led to him fabricating stories.
07:07Number 23.
07:09Ron Atkinson
07:10After a successful football and managerial career, Atkinson took the step into broadcasting
07:15as a pundit for ITV.
07:17However, in 2004, any goodwill he had accumulated over his years in the sport evaporated.
07:23Andy Townsend came to see me and said,
07:24I'll tell you what, Ron, I think there's a problem.
07:26Something's happened.
07:27I said, I'm not quite sure, nobody's quite sure what it is, but there's a bit of a problem.
07:30While covering the Champions League semi-final first leg between Chelsea and Monaco, he
07:35believed his microphone was off as he uttered a racial slur about Chelsea's Marcel to Sally.
07:40Instead, Atkinson's terrible words were broadcast across several Middle Eastern countries.
07:45Due to the outrage, he resigned from ITV and has struggled for mainstream pundit work ever
07:50since.
07:51Atkinson's reputation is further nosedive, since with underwhelming excuses such as claiming
07:56he was only repeating what others had said, and stating he was fed up with apologizing.
08:01What I do want to do is get rid of this thing once and for all, this racist thing.
08:08Number 22.
08:10Hugh Edwards.
08:11For decades, Edwards was the de facto face of BBC News as he anchored its flagship programs,
08:17earning the respect of many.
08:18It's impossible to exaggerate the importance of Hugh Edwards to the BBC.
08:25He was, for many people, the BBC.
08:28He wasn't just the main newsreader of the main bulletin.
08:32He was selected to front the major state occasion.
08:37He was even the person responsible for announcing Queen Elizabeth II's passing in 2022.
08:42However, everything changed in 2023.
08:45That year, The Sun newspaper released an article about an unnamed BBC presenter paying a teenager
08:51for images.
08:52Within days, Edwards was outed by his wife as the presenter, as he got treatment for his
08:58mental health.
08:59While off-air for medical reasons and for a BBC investigation, Edwards resigned from his
09:04job.
09:04However, shortly after, he was charged with exchanging and downloading indecent images of minors.
09:10In 2024, Edwards pleaded guilty and received a six-month suspended sentence.
09:16This sentencing sends a clear message that the CPS, we will bring offenders to justice.
09:22Number 21.
09:23Marina Avsanikova.
09:25In 2022, after working at Channel One Russia since 2003, Avsanikova had had enough.
09:32While a live segment on the Russian invasion of Ukraine was underway, she walked behind the
09:36posts with a placard that demanded a stop to the war and that the viewers were being lied
09:41to.
09:42That is, Russian television producer Maureen Avsanikova defying Vladimir Putin during the
09:46evening news on state television with a powerful and courageous plea for peace.
09:51A pre-recorded video by Avsanikova was then uploaded online that further detailed her stance.
09:56After being arrested and getting a minor fine, Avsanikova resigned from the channel and continued
10:01protesting the governments.
10:02This led to her being under house arrest.
10:05I wanted to demonstrate to the world that not all Russian people believe the same.
10:15And I believe that many people, more than half of the people in Russia, are against the
10:20war.
10:20However, Avsanikova and her daughter escaped to France with aid from the non-profit group
10:25Reporters Without Borders.
10:27She was sentenced in absentia in Russia to eight and a half years in jail.
10:31Number 20.
10:33AJ Clemente
10:34On the first day of a new job, most people, especially on TV, want to make it memorable.
10:40However, AJ Clemente became famous for all the wrong reasons.
10:45In 2013, he was the new weekend co-anchor for the NBC affiliate news program, KFYR-TV in
10:51Bismarck, North Dakota.
10:53F***ing s***.
10:54Good evening, I'm Van Tu.
10:56You may have seen our newest from AJ on NBC, North Dakota News.
11:00Yet seconds into the opening, Clemente mumbled multiple swear words on live TV, leaving co-host
11:06Van Tu to pretend that wasn't the worst news debut ever.
11:10Thanks, Van.
11:11I'm very excited.
11:11I graduated from West Virginia University and I'm used to, you know, from being from the
11:16East Coast.
11:17While Clemente apologized for his outburst, he was still fired by KFYR-TV.
11:23Instead of marinating in the scandal, the former news anchor quickly returned to his
11:27previous job as a bartender in Delaware, as offers to be on reality TV trickled in.
11:32Were you aware that you were on the air?
11:34I had no clue.
11:36I had no...
11:37You're all so wrong for that.
11:41Number 19.
11:42Trent Evans
11:43At one time, Trent Evans was enjoying life as an award-winning TV reporter for Australia's
11:49Channel 7 in Queensland.
11:51However, in 2016, as the pressures of the job mounted, his mental health deteriorated, causing
11:57him to leave his position.
11:58Evans spent several years struggling financially and getting help from mental health services.
12:04In 2021, he and Rex Willocks spent the day drinking several bottles of champagne in Melbourne.
12:10Evans then drove Willocks' car with the owner in the passenger seat.
12:14After driving nearly double the speed limit, the vehicle struck a power pole.
12:18While Evans survived, Willocks sadly didn't.
12:21In 2022, after pleading guilty, Evans was sentenced to seven years and ten months in jail.
12:28Number 18.
12:30James Gordon Meek
12:31As well as working as an advisor to the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security, James
12:36Gordon Meek was also an investigative producer for ABC news programs such as 2020 and Nightline,
12:43specializing in national security.
12:45However, all the respect he had accumulated over the years evaporated in 2022.
12:50That year, Meek was arrested by the FBI for possession of indecent child-focused media and
12:56exchanging them with other people.
12:57Meek quickly vanished from the public life after resigning from ABC, causing a lot of
13:02speculation in the media.
13:04In 2023, after pleading guilty to the offense, the former reporter was sentenced to six years
13:09in jail.
13:10Number 17.
13:12Tom Brenneman
13:13When it comes to apologizing, sincerity really matters.
13:17Otherwise, you could become a viral meme.
13:19I don't know if it's going to be for the Reds.
13:21I don't know if it's going to be for my bosses at Fox.
13:24I'm going to apologize for the people who signed my paycheck.
13:27Since 1994, Tom Brenneman had worked for Fox Sports, typically covering football and baseball.
13:34In 2020, he was commenting on the Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals.
13:38During it, Brenneman used a homophobic slur when talking about San Francisco that went
13:43out live.
13:44I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed
13:51of.
13:52Just before he was pulled from the game, Brenneman attempted to apologize and use his faith as
13:57an excuse.
13:58I'm so very, very sorry.
14:01I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith.
14:05However, during it, he suddenly got distracted by calling a Nick Castellanos homerun before
14:10switching back to his apology.
14:12It was bonkers.
14:13It's a drive in a deep left field by Castellanos.
14:15It will be a homerun.
14:18And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
14:22Brenneman was soon fired by Fox.
14:24Since the incident, he has worked with Puerto Rico's Roberto Clemente League and Chatterbox
14:28Sports.
14:29When you were a younger guy, it was just a word.
14:32I've come to learn the real root of that word.
14:37Number 16.
14:38Sabrina Erdly.
14:40In 2014, the world of education was rocked by Sabrina Erdly's article for Rolling Stone
14:45about student Jackie Coakley's account of a horrible incident at the University of Virginia.
14:50Jackie did go to the school to report her allegations, and the school did absolutely
14:54nothing.
14:55Coakley spoke about how she was assaulted in 2012 by a group as part of a fraternity initiation
15:01ritual.
15:01The article also explored the university's lack of support for her.
15:05However, as the media examined the story in more detail, Erdly's article wasn't adding
15:10up, and her bias was questioned.
15:12A police investigation also found no evidence to support the article's claims.
15:16In 2015, Rolling Stone retracted the story.
15:20It was terrible, terrible journalism, and it really was done with reckless disregard for
15:26the truth.
15:27Regardless, the magazine and Erdly faced several defamation lawsuits.
15:32In 2017, Rolling Stone settled one case with the University of Virginia for $1.65 million.
15:40Number 15.
15:41Dan Rather.
15:42Starting in 1962, Dan Rather worked for CBS in various capacities, even anchoring CBS Evening
15:50News.
15:50Seemingly, he was going to retire at the company.
15:53However, that changed in 2004 when Rather hosted a 60 Minutes 2, exploring what were called
15:59the Killian Documents.
16:01These papers were apparently written in 1973 and contained criticism of President George
16:06W. Bush's time at the Texas Air National Guard.
16:09Mr. Bush was suspended from flying on August 1st, 1972.
16:14That date matches the one on a memo given to CBS News.
16:18However, after their release, their authenticity was questioned, as they appear to have been
16:23written with modern typography.
16:25Those who found the story uncomfortable for their partisan political purposes attacked
16:30us at what they knew to be the weakest point, which was the document.
16:33After defending the papers, Rather and CBS admitted they were wrong.
16:37In 2005, Rather stepped down from his anchor role and was fired the following year.
16:42He attempted to sue CBS, only to have the case thrown out.
16:46In the darkest period of my professional career, I'd much rather a movie be made about my coverage
16:53of civil rights or Watergate or Vietnam War.
16:58But life's not like that.
16:59Number 14.
17:00Don Lemon
17:01In 2006, Don Lemon joined CNN.
17:05By 2014, he was becoming one of the news's most well-known faces as he was showcased across
17:11the channel's programming as a host.
17:13But then things took a turn.
17:15In 2023, Lemon was heavily criticized for the misogynistic comments he made about Nikki Haley
17:21not being in her prime as she was not in her 20s, 30s, or 40s.
17:25Politicians are something that are not in their prime.
17:27Nikki Haley isn't in her prime.
17:29Yikes.
17:29Not long after, Variety reported on allegations that Lemon had a history of misogynistic and
17:35abusive comments toward female colleagues.
17:37As the scandal grew, CNN fired Lemon.
17:40In 2024, the former anchor received around $24.5 million from his former employers as part
17:47of a separation deal.
17:49Number 13.
17:50Ken Rosado
17:51All right, Heather, thank you.
17:525.41.
17:53Still ahead on Eyewitness News this morning, new guidelines issued for New York educators.
17:56Having joined New York's WABC-TV in 2003 as a reporter, the Emmy Award-winning Ken Rosado
18:03eventually became the channel's anchor for Eyewitness News this morning.
18:07Yet, after decades in the business, in 2023, Rosado found himself in hot water.
18:13Reportedly, he was heard calling co-host Shirlene Alicott an insult on an open microphone.
18:18While the show was off-air and the audio wasn't broadcast to the viewing audience, it was heard
18:23by production staff in the studio.
18:25There were allegations the comment was offensive.
18:28No matter the racism and the prejudice that I experienced, because I experienced it.
18:32However, Rosado's representatives denied this to be the case.
18:36Regardless, WABC-TV moved quickly and fired the anchor.
18:40Heather?
18:41Yes?
18:41What do you have for us?
18:42Oh, we're not looking too good.
18:44Number 12.
18:45Charlie Rose
18:46Charlie Rose was noted for his work on both CBS and PBS, hosting a self-titled talk show
18:52for the latter.
18:53He was one of the most famous interviewers on U.S. television.
18:57But in 2017, all of that fell apart.
19:00And when she reported a good deal of this, the executive producer's reaction was to treat
19:04her like she was, quote, a dramatic little girl.
19:06The Washington Post released an article with allegations of Rose's sexual misconduct against
19:11several women who were his employees or hoping to be.
19:14Most of these women that we talked to were working for him at a very early stage in their
19:19careers.
19:20So for them, I think that there would be a tremendous risk, you know, to speaking out.
19:24After a brief suspension, Rose was fired by CBS and PBS as he apologized for his behavior.
19:30By 2018, 35 women had accused him of harassment, resulting in lawsuits against him.
19:36Rose attempted to dismiss one case by claiming the women were exploiting the Me Too movements.
19:40In 2022, he began releasing interviews on his own website.
19:45Number 11.
19:46Tucker Carlson
19:47In 2009, Tucker Carlson found his home with Fox News after working with other channels.
19:53Good evening and welcome to Tucker Carlson Tonight.
19:56He got his own show with Tucker Carlson Tonight in 2016, soon becoming one of the channel's
20:01most watched series.
20:03But in 2023, that relationship abruptly ended when Carlson was fired by Fox.
20:08While no reason was given immediately, reports soon came out about Carlson's behind-the-scenes
20:14attitude.
20:15The truth is, a lot of rank-and-file Fox staffers never liked Tucker Carlson.
20:19They viewed him as this other guy off doing his own thing, separate from the rest of the
20:23network.
20:24It's alleged he sent several inflammatory messages about Fox higher-ups and used racist
20:29language.
20:30With that and other incidents, there were liability concerns from the network's lawyers.
20:34It was neither an insurrection nor deadly.
20:37Afterward, Carlson created the Tucker Carlson Network and released controversial interviews
20:42there and on X, formerly Twitter.
20:45Number 10.
20:46Brian Williams
20:47I want to apologize.
20:49I said I was traveling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire.
20:53I was instead in a following aircraft.
20:56Brian Williams was a high-profile managing editor and anchor for NBC Nightly News.
21:01But in 2015, his rep took a big hit due to allegations concerning his coverage of the 2003 invasion
21:08of Iraq.
21:08At first, Williams claimed he had been in a helicopter in Iraq that had to land after another
21:13chopper was nearly struck by an RPG.
21:16When the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG, our
21:21traveling NBC News team was rescued, surrounded, and kept alive by an armored-mechanized platoon
21:26from the US Army 3rd Infantry.
21:28Over the years, his story changed to his aircraft needing to land after being hit.
21:33Soldiers, who were there at the time, contested the newer versions of Williams' story.
21:38While the anchor eventually apologized for exaggeration, the damage was done, and he was suspended
21:44and eventually moved to a lesser position.
21:47After 28 years of Peacock logos on much of what I own, it is my choice now to jump without
21:54a net into the great unknown.
21:56Number 9.
21:57Ivory Hecker
21:58Before we get to that story, I want to let you, the viewers, know that Fox Corp has been
22:03muzzling me to keep certain information from you, the viewers.
22:06It's not often a reporter purposely tanks their career live on TV, but in 2021, that's
22:13what Ivory Hecker did on the local news affiliate Fox 26 Houston.
22:18On the air, Hecker launched into a rant that Fox had been what she called muzzling her and
22:23other reporters about topics she wanted to cover.
22:26From what I'm gathering, I am not the only reporter being subjected to this.
22:30I am going to be releasing some recordings about what goes on behind the scenes at Fox.
22:34She stated she would release secret recordings made with the right-wing activist group Project
22:39Veritas.
22:40These revolved around promoting the disproven hydroxychloroquine as a COVID-19 treatment.
22:46After being initially suspended for her on-air outburst, unsurprisingly, Hecker was fired.
22:52I found a non-profit journalism group called Project Veritas that's going to help put that
22:56out tomorrow, so tune in to them.
22:58Number eight, Aaron Calvin.
23:00Abandoned by the register, that's what former Des Moines Register reporter Aaron Calvin told
23:05BuzzFeed that he feels like after being fired from the paper earlier this week.
23:09It started with a man named Carson King in the background of ESPN's college game day coverage,
23:15holding a jokey sign with his Venmo stating, he needed beer money.
23:19After a big response, King started raising money for the University of Iowa Stead Family
23:24Children's Hospital and finished his campaign with millions in donations.
23:28During the fame, reporter Aaron Calvin did a profile on King for the Des Moines Register,
23:33in which he mentioned the fundraiser's problematic social media account from years before when he
23:38was a teen.
23:40But then it started to fall apart.
23:41A reporter of the Des Moines Register found insensitive tweets King wrote eight years ago
23:44when he was 16, reportedly based off a Comedy Central show, Tosh.0.
23:49After making the post in King's apology, Calvin was harassed, had his life threatened, and
23:54his own potentially problematic tweets parsed.
23:57Eventually, the Des Moines Register fired Calvin.
24:00The latest twist, that reporter had his own old insensitive tweets and now has been fired,
24:05yes.
24:067.
24:07Lydia Cumming
24:08It's a photo that seems to show ordinary people lending a hand to a flood victim, or
24:13does it?
24:14It's usually not great when a reporter becomes a viral meme, but that's what happened to
24:19reporter Lydia Cumming in 2016 as she covered a flood in Puebla, Mexico for TV Azteca.
24:26Taken by a photographer at the scene, Cumming was hoisted up in the air by two locals, seemingly
24:31to avoid her shoes getting wet.
24:34Lydia Cumming is a 24-year-old reporter who hitched a ride with this couple while reporting
24:39on devastating floods in Mexico.
24:41After the image got out, she was photoshopped into all sorts of situations.
24:45However, TV Azteca was less than impressed with the social media fame.
24:50They fired Cumming for disrespectfully using local residents in a trying time.
24:54Why doesn't she take off her shoes instead?
24:57Another post, you would think that wearing maybe rain boots in a flooded area would be
25:02common sense.
25:03In an interview afterward, Cumming claimed the residents wanted to show her their elderly
25:08disabled neighbor and offered to carry her, which she briefly agreed to.

25:14Rick Sanchez
25:16After joining CNN in 2004 as a reporter, Rick Sanchez quickly rose up the ranks as a news anchor,
25:28even getting his own program with Rick's List.
25:31But in 2010, that vanished when he appeared on Sirius XM's radio program, Stand Up with
25:37Pete Dominick.
25:38Pete has actually worked for Jon Stewart in the past, so he's defending Stewart obviously
25:42throughout.
25:43Angered by reports about his show's time slot being replaced, and with Jon Stewart for comedic
25:47jabs at him, Sanchez called Stewart a bigot.
25:51Sanchez then claimed CNN and other networks discriminated against him and made comments about
25:55Stewart's ethnic background and the news business.
25:59Very unsurprisingly, Sanchez was soon fired by CNN and later joined Fox.
26:045.
26:14Bill O'Reilly
26:15After making his name on various channels, in 1996, Bill O'Reilly joined the brand new
26:20Fox News and was handed his own show, The O'Reilly Factor.
26:25You are about to enter the no spin zone.
26:28He regularly courted controversy, but that didn't stop him from becoming one of the country's
26:32biggest political commentators.
26:33It's a good place to work, alright?
26:37We do good work.
26:38We do honest work there.
26:39But then, in 2017, The New York Times released an article detailing sexual misconduct lawsuits
26:45issued against O'Reilly.
26:46You said at the time you did absolutely nothing wrong.
26:49Correct.
26:50Do you stand by that?
26:51It stated that Fox had helped him settle cases issued by five women at the cost of $13 million.
26:57Quickly, advertisers began dropping The O'Reilly Factor.
27:00And he caught up with me and said, no, no, come back to my suite.
27:04And I said, I'm sorry, I can't do that.
27:06And then he became hostile.
27:09All his charmingness went away.
27:11After another lawsuit was discovered that was settled for $32 million, Fox and his talent
27:16agencies fired O'Reilly.
27:17Since then, he's host of the show and podcast No Spin News and had a speaking tour with Donald
27:23Trump.
27:24Number 4.
27:26Marley Rivera
27:26As a reporter for ESPN and the Spanish language channel ESPN Deportes, Marley Rivera was one
27:37of the biggest names in sports journalism.
27:39After all, she was included in the Sports Illustrated article, The 30 Most Influential Hispanics in
27:45Sports, in 2017.
27:47But in 2023, that reputation took a hit.
27:51Before a New York Yankees game, freelancer Yvonne Gaiety tried to interview Aaron Judge.
27:56But Rivera argued with Gaiety that she had already scheduled an interview with the MLB
28:01star.
28:01The face-off was recorded, which included Rivera using an expletive while insulting Gaiety.
28:07Excuse me, did you record it, right?
28:09What?
28:10I wasn't talking about you.
28:11To make it worse for Rivera, Gaiety is married to the MLB vice president of communications,
28:16John Blundell.
28:17While Rivera apologized, Gaiety reportedly rejected it, and Rivera was soon fired by ESPN.
28:23Rivera would admit she and her fellow reporter have had disagreements in the past.
28:29Number three, Chris Cuomo.
28:31You know, the biggest media story this weekend, it's the firing of Chris Cuomo from this network,
28:36CNN.
28:36Prominent anchor and journalist Chris Cuomo joined CNN in 2013 and eventually got his
28:41own program, Cuomo Primetime.
28:44And with his brother, Andrew Cuomo, being the governor of New York, he had some pretty good
28:48connections.
28:49Well, that was until multiple misconduct allegations came out about the governor.
28:54And a former female colleague has now come forward accusing Chris Cuomo of sexual misconduct.
28:58He denies any wrongdoing.
29:00While Cuomo publicly stated he couldn't talk about the story due to his close connection,
29:05reportedly behind the scenes, the anchor and licensed attorney advised his brother on dealing
29:09with the scandal and used his sources to gather information on the accusers.
29:13After being briefly suspended by CNN during an investigation, Cuomo was let go by the network
29:19in 2021.
29:21A CNN spokesperson saying overnight, when the new allegation came to us this week,
29:24quote, we took them seriously and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action.
29:29Number two, Megyn Kelly.
29:31It seemed okay.
29:33Well, I was wrong and I am sorry.
29:35After leaving Fox, Megyn Kelly became one of the highest paid anchors when she joined NBC
29:40in 2017, and one of her main tasks was hosting her own talk show, Megyn Kelly Today.
29:47Yet in 2018, one segment in particular caused a massive scandal for Kelly.
29:52As the panel discussed the topic of offensive blackface, Kelly stated when she was a child,
29:57that was okay as long as people were playing a character.
30:00She then defended the actions of Luanne de Lesseps, who was criticized when cosplaying as
30:06Diana Ross.
30:07People said that that was racist.
30:09And I don't know, I felt like, who doesn't love Diana Ross?
30:12She wants to look like Diana Ross for one day.
30:14I don't know how that got racist on Halloween.
30:17Days later, Kelly's show was canceled.
30:19In early 2019, she was dropped by NBC, but also received the remaining $30 million from her contract.
30:26Parties have resolved their differences, and Megyn Kelly is no longer an employee of NBC.

30:471.
30:48Matt Lauer
30:49Lauer was scheduled to host the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting.
30:52As you guys know, he was not there last night.
30:55After joining NBC in 1992, Matt Lauer would become one of the network's most recognizable
31:00and marketable faces.
31:02On top of being an anchor for the Today Show, Matt Lauer also hosted the Macy's Thanksgiving
31:06Day Parade and the Olympic Games opening ceremonies.
31:10Then, in 2017, NBC received a detailed report from a female colleague accusing Lauer of harassment
31:16that began during the coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.
31:21NBC News can report two additional women came forward to the network after the news initially broke.
31:26After an investigation by the networks, they fired the host from his hosting and reporting
31:31duties.
31:32And not long after, further allegations came out about Lauer during his time at NBC.
31:37And we were told some very shocking and disturbing stories, which are a stark contrast to the
31:42Matt Lauer that everybody has known for over 20 years.
31:45Which reporter is the most beloved of all time?
31:48Walter Cronkite?
31:49Ann Curry?
31:50Trevor McDonald?
31:51Or someone else?
31:52Let us know below.
31:53I'll be away on assignment and Dan Rather will be sitting in here for the next few years.
31:58Good night.
31:58Are there any other reporters who ruined their career in one moment?
32:02Let us know in the comments.
32:04This was a hit job.
32:06A political and financial hit job.
32:09This was supposed to beian of a cryptocurrency for nearly every Saturday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Chad sometimes
