00:00It's nothing better than sitting outside down there, having a beer and just watching the
00:06world go by. You know, that's why everyone's pastime is ours, isn't it?
00:09It's ours, definitely. Yeah.
00:13Plenty of people all across South Wales would have woken up, seen beautiful sunny skies
00:18and thought, it's the summer holidays. Let's go out and make the most of it.
00:22Obviously, the sunny skies didn't quite stay for very long, but they're still warm, largely
00:26dry. So I'm here in Cardiff Bay asking people about their favourite things to do in Cardiff
00:30if it was a sunny day today. We've got so many parks and sites to visit, places like Cardiff
00:36Bay, Barry Island and even the city centre is a great place in the sun. So what are people's
00:40top spots when the sun is out in the capital? Yeah, it's our second day here now and it's
00:44all out along past Tiger Yard and everything yesterday and up towards the shopping centre
00:49and yeah, it's been lovely. It's so much to see around here and so much history as well,
00:53which is nice. Sometimes we come down here on a weekend if there's something on or most
00:57of the time we go into town and just have a wander around town, but this on our doorstep
01:02is amazing. Amazing.
01:06Cardiff's the kind of place people flock to, go out on day trips to and holiday around.
01:10A few people I spoke to aren't from Cardiff, but they're spending their summer here in the
01:14city, taking in all the sights of the capital.
01:16Well, we're down here on holiday. It is really lovely today. We've been to the Science Museum
01:21and we've had a great time. It took hours and there's lots of interaction for kids and
01:25that. It was brilliant. Well worth the visit. Well worth.
01:29Yeah, if it's sunny, yeah. You can go for a walk and stuff. Food. Yeah.
01:37Well, to be honest, it's actually my birthday today, isn't it?
01:40Yeah. We live in Abergavenny and we thought we haven't actually just come down and had a
01:44day out in Cardiff. So we brought a water taxi down, didn't we?
01:4861 years of living in Wales. We've never done a water taxi from the city, from the castle
01:53down here. We're going to go on the open top bus.
01:56Yeah.
01:57Be a real tourist in Cardiff, even though we're born and bred in Wales.
02:00We're going to Barry Island.
02:02We are.
02:02We're going to the castle tomorrow.
02:04We are.
02:05And shopping, yeah.
02:06Shopping. You've got some designer outlet or something. So we're going there.
02:10Just have a look around, really. Just take it all in. See what we find.
02:14The one by the castle is nice. I forgot what it's called.
02:17That's Butte Park.
02:17Butte Park, yeah. That's a nice one. I'd go there quite a lot. There.
02:23You've got Barry Island to go to.
02:24St. Fagans.
02:25Of course, St. Fagans. St. Fagans Castle. That's really good.
02:28So, yeah, there's loads and loads of places to go. Absolutely amazing place.
02:32Yeah.
02:33Amazing.
02:35Cardiff has some fantastic, unique assets, too. The TAF runs right through the centre
02:39and leads here to Cardiff Bay, one of people's favourites.
02:42And there's plenty of fun ways to get here, too.
02:46I don't know. I'll just go for a walk anywhere, really.
02:49Maybe go on a boat trip.
02:53Up the river or something. I don't know.
02:55Maybe feel like food. Food's a good one.
02:57Go on a boat.
02:57Please do.
02:58Good morning, dear.
