00:00A hard-fought point on the road against Northampton Town for Bradford City, who continued their unbeaten start to the season.
00:08Whilst Bradford did not find that ultimate opening that would have seen them claim all three points, it wasn't for the wants of trying.
00:16They came close on a number of occasions hitting the woodwork and seeing other efforts cleared off the line by Northampton Town.
00:23Certainly a positive display that perhaps could have been rewarded with all three points, but it was not to be.
00:31Bradford will have to move on quickly as they next play in the Carabao Cup.
00:36In terms of their league form though, it has been a good start to the season, picking up four points from a possible six in their opening two games.
00:45Winning on their return to League One against Wickham Wanderers was the perfect start.
00:49And then getting a draw against Northampton in their first away fixture was a bonus on top of that.
00:58They're setting themselves up for what should be a really good and positive season at Valley Parade,
01:04but that is only if things keep on going the way that they are developing.
01:08Certainly Graeme Alexander brought in a lot of new faces during the summer window,
01:13and at present it seems as if he's got them all to gel and to work cohesively as a team.
01:18Whether that remains the same throughout the campaign, that is still yet to be seen.
01:23But for now, things are looking good.
01:26So let's hear from Graeme Alexander, who spoke after the game against Northampton,
01:30to hear his reaction to his side picking up a point.
01:35I think it's a good point. I think the point was the least we deserved.
01:40I felt we were the better team, had the better chances to score.
01:43We should have took at least one of those, but it was important that we didn't give anything cheap away defensively.
01:48We were very strong defensively.
01:50I think the challenge that we had to face coming into our box, we stood up to,
01:56which was really pleasing to see.
01:58First contact, our second balls, we landed on a lot.
02:01We were quite disciplined in our approach to that, so that's a pleasing aspect.
02:06And we just couldn't find that killer touch in the final third, and it wasn't for a lack of trying.
02:10But it was moments where the sticky pitch didn't help the individual concerned, or we made the wrong decision.
02:19Maybe we should have just bought one more pass in a crossing position, or in one of those shooting areas as well.
02:24But I think we've hit the post, they've had two cleared off the line.
02:27So, the effort from the players is there, but we just need to, and we will do as we progress through the games,
02:34just add that real clinical touch to what we have.
02:37And that's easy, I was hitting the wood like we did from a corner, a couple cleared off the line.
02:41On another day, it's one of those games where we go home happy, two, three goals to the good.
02:45Well, look, even if we were in that game, I think it's a great away performance.
02:49And I don't think anyone would have argued that we didn't serve the three points.
02:53But, look, that's how the game is.
02:55But we saw, and I've just said this to the players, the value of being hard to beat,
03:01the value of picking up points, because, you know, I think 12 draws last season,
03:05obviously very valuable, 12 points that we won.
03:09So, we have to just see where we can improve, which we no doubt can.
03:14Also, I take the positives from that, that we were the team in the ascendancy,
03:16and we should have won the game.
03:20But I think there was a little bit of frustration in the first half from our players
03:23about certain aspects of it.
03:25But I thought we put that frustration to the side in the second half
03:28and showed a real positive attitude all the way through.
03:32Even when it didn't go our way, we were still there for the next action.
03:34And that pleased me more than anything.
03:36I was going to say, when you see your team take on what's been sold to them at half-time
03:40and putting the first half performance behind them, coming out again fresh, ready to go,
03:43really giving it everything, really, didn't they?
03:45It must be really pleasing and give you a lot of confidence heading for the third season.
03:47Yeah, I just thought, you know, there was a couple of moments in the first half,
03:51I don't know, where we miss a shot or we over-hit a cross.
03:55You could see in the body language of the players, there was a frustration there.
03:58And I think if you carry it out with you, it goes into your next action,
04:01you're just going to get worse.
04:02So, you've just got to dispel it, throw it in the bin,
04:05and just concentrate on the next one, because they're good players.
04:07They've got great attitudes.
04:08So, I think we're a good team.
04:10So, we've just got to make sure that we manage our frustrations,
04:14manage our body language, especially away from home,
04:17because we don't want to give the opposition any encouragement
04:22to think that they're breaking into us mentally.
04:25I thought the players showed that in the second half.
04:27As mentioned, next up for the Bantams is a League Cup fixture.
04:32That's away to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Tuesday evening.
04:37And then it's Back to Valley Parade on Saturday
04:40for the visit of Luton Town in League One.
