00:00Have you ever wondered if you're the smartest person in the room, your office, or maybe even
00:08your hometown? This is my biggest win, buddy! Think you'd be smarter than half the country?
00:14Top 10%? Or maybe even the top 1%? Is that how that works? I don't know. That's how that works,
00:19but I'm not doing that. Oh! It doesn't matter where you went to school or what you do for a
00:23living. I'm a sommelier. You're my favorite contestant. You're my favorite host. The 1%
00:29Club levels the playing field for everyone. Before the show, we asked people from all over
00:34the United States a list of our unique questions that are designed to test logic, common sense,
00:39and how our brain actually works. Which living room fire is warmest? Tonight, we'll be asking
00:47those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the easiest one that 90% of
00:52America got right, and ending with the hardest question that only 1% of the American public
00:57answered correctly. At the start of each show, every contestant is given a $1,000 stake.
01:02If they get any question wrong, they're out of the game, and their $1,000 goes into the prize
01:07pot. We lost 36 of you. It's a bloodbath out here. Whoever gets the furthest tonight gets
01:13the chance to answer the final 1% question and take home up to $100,000. I'll be doing the
01:20asking tonight, and here doing the answering are these 100 contestants. I'm Joel Mateo, and
01:29it's time to play the 1% Club. Hey, everybody. You never forget your first question of a game
01:37show. Let's kick things off with the 90% question. What children's item do you get when you combine
01:48these two images? Your time starts now. And if you combine an overpriced suit and overpriced
01:59this haircut, you get me. Your time is up. Now let's see how many of you got the question
02:14right, and how many of you are out of the game. We lost one of you on that question, which
02:31means 99 of you are left. Oof. Let's see what the answer is. Sandbox. Sand plus box equals
02:40Sandbox. Boy, so that was a big surprise to one of you. Randy, being the only one knocked
02:49out of the game in the first round is nothing to be embarrassed about. Maybe just a little
02:53bit. You're right. You're right. You are right. Yeah, but it's part of the game play. How
02:58do you feel? A little bit embarrassed, but it kind of looked like clouds to me, so I just
03:02couldn't see. Look, I played with a cloud box when I was a child, so maybe you played with
03:07the cloud box. We were the only two. You know, when your heads are in the clouds, you
03:11sometimes can't see the sand. Oh, see? Oh. All right, everyone who answered incorrectly
03:18is out of the game, but don't worry. They're also going home empty-handed. Their $1,000 has
03:24gone into the prize pot, which now sits at, say it with me, Randy. $1,000. The next question
03:36is more challenging with notes of lavender, just like me. Here is your 80% question. Based
03:47on this restaurant sign, which one of the people below is breaking the most rules in their establishment?
03:53Your time starts now.
04:03It looks like all three of them need to be cut off by the bartender.
04:06Time is up. Let's see how many of you answered correctly and how many of you are about to
04:25be filled with game show-related regret?
04:40It's so ominous. We lost 13 of you on that question, which means we've got 86 of you left.
04:48Here's the answer. C. They're all breaking rules. The one breaking the most rules is the shirtless,
04:55shoeless man holding the dog. He's breaking three rules. Let's talk to Erica Ray.
05:01Hey. Erica, anybody at home cheering you on today?
05:06Yes, my mother and my cat. What are you going to do with the money if you win?
05:10I sound obsessed with my mother, but I love her business, so I want to invest in her business,
05:14but also I'm going to get money back, so I'm going to be a loan shark. What? Is your mom in debt?
05:21No, she's not in debt. So your mom is going to put up her stuff to sell so she can get cash for a
05:27while. Is that how that works? I don't know. Oh, well, if that's how that works, then I'm not doing
05:33that. Oh, maybe that's a pawn shop, but I feel like a loan shark will give you like an illegal loan
05:38for a really high interest rate, and then if you don't pay it, then you go out and break their
05:44legs. Wow. Okay, I did not know that's what that was. Wow. All right. I'm just going to give her
05:49money. And if she doesn't give any of that money back, you're not going to injure her? I'll try not
05:54to. So you're just going to give your mom money? Yes, a donation. What did you think a loan shark
05:58was? I'm so curious. I don't know. I feel bad that I said that now because, wow. Don't feel bad.
06:04Erica Ray, thank you. All right. The prize pot just swelled another $13,000 and now stands at
06:14$14,000. That's one hefty prize pot. Luckily, we painted the pot in slimming vertical stripes.
06:25Here is the 70% question.
06:28Logically, which chain should replace the question mark? Your time starts now.
06:44And which chain do you think looks best with a mock turtleneck that I'm wearing tonight to the club?
06:58Your time is up. Let's see who was sacrificed upon the altar of the 70% question. Do it, blue light.
07:08Oh, my Lord. What's happening?
07:2736 people.
07:30It's a bloodbath out here. Wow. Are you applauding that you all were out at once? That's great.
07:37It's a camaraderie. All right. That means we have 50 of you left. Here's the answer.
07:44B. Each chain is made up of a single letter of the alphabet linked together. The examples given are
07:51X, Y, and Z, so W would come first. Super easy for me when they highlight it like that.
07:58Well, I hate to talk to the people who got it wrong, but we have to talk to each and every one of you,
08:03so this is a two-hour 1% club, so here we go. Let's talk to Raina.
08:09That's me. Hi, y'all.
08:10Oh, hi, Raina.
08:12All right. You and 35 other people got it wrong.
08:17Yeah, we did.
08:18Raina, is there anybody at home rooting for you?
08:20Yes, my husband and my two daughters, my brothers, my mom, all of my salon staff, my clients.
08:27You have a whole staff.
08:28I do.
08:29That is a lot of people to disappoint.
08:31It is. It's so...
08:32It really is.
08:34What? What did you guys expect? I'm hosting this.
08:38So I'm going to tell you a little bit about my husband. When we first met...
08:41I didn't ask.
08:41I know. It's okay.
08:44Moving on. No. All right.
08:46So when we actually started sleeping together, when we got married, it was like being in a horror film because I sleep with my eyes open.
08:54And I make like this really weird noise when I go to sleep. It kind of sounds like the grudge.
09:01It's really bad.
09:03Wait. So this is how you sleep? Like...
09:06Not that wide, Joel.
09:08All right, Raina. Congrats on your husband staying with you.
09:11Exactly.
09:11And after that round, the prize pot now stands at...
09:15$50,000.
09:21Thank you to all 36 of you.
09:23All right. Here is the 60% question.
09:29Here we go.
09:30Which of the answer choices shows the correct order of the beads when they are all moved to the right side?
09:37Your time starts now.
09:41All I know is when I was a kid, all those beads would have been up my nose.
09:50And they still are.
10:02And that is time.
10:04Let's see who got the question wrong.
10:06Five.
10:18Oh, much better.
10:20We lost five on that question, which means we have 45 of you left.
10:25You seem disappointed.
10:28Here's the answer.
10:29C. The order for the finished beads has to have red last or at the end of the finished stack.
10:37The order should be from bottom to top, purple, orange, blue, purple, green, and red.
10:43You guys seem pissed.
10:46It's weird.
10:47You're like...
10:48Okay.
10:51All right.
10:51Let's talk to somebody who got it wrong.
10:54Chris S.
10:55Hey, Chris.
10:55Hey, what's up?
10:56How's it going?
10:57Eh.
10:58Yeah.
10:59What do you do, Chris?
11:00Do you look like you brew beer or a blacksmith?
11:03No, I run a mobile cigar business for corporate and private parties, weddings, and those kinds
11:10of things.
11:10How have you not set your beard on fire?
11:12Well, I was going to say I'm not that dumb, but I just missed it.
11:15All right.
11:16Well, as your parting gift, we got you a beard comb.
11:18I appreciate it.
11:19Thank you for being here, Chris.
11:20Yeah.
11:20We lost a lot of good people this round, but we raided their pockets and added that
11:25cash to the prize pot, which now stands at $55,000.
11:34When we return, more questions, more money, and the same amount of me.
11:38More 1% Club after this, only on Fox.
11:52Welcome back to the 1% Club.
11:54We started with 100 contestants, then using dramatic lighting cues, we cut that down
11:58to 45.
11:59The prize pot is at $55,000 and continues to swell, so let's keep it going.
12:05For all of you that have survived up to this point, I've got great news for you.
12:09For any of the next 10 questions, you can use the $1,000 we gave you to pay for a pass
12:14and move on to the next question.
12:16You can only do this once, and your $1,000 will go straight into the prize pot.
12:20So use your pass wisely.
12:22Let's continue the game.
12:24Here is your 50% question.
12:30Which of these snowflakes is exactly the same on both sides?
12:35Your time starts now.
12:45And for those of you who think this is too difficult, quit being such a snowflake.
12:50Time is up.
13:02Let's see who answered correctly and who did not.
13:06We lost three of you on that question, which means we've got 42 of you left, and seven
13:25of you used your pass.
13:27Let's see what the answer is.
13:29B.
13:30I can always tell when they circle the mistake.
13:33And now pretend like I knew the right answer.
13:35All right, guys, now let's meet some people who didn't get it right.
13:38Travis.
13:39Hey, Joe.
13:40You put C.
13:41I did.
13:42I just went with my gut.
13:43Travis, what do you do?
13:44I'm an air duct technician.
13:45What would you have done with the money?
13:47I recently got engaged, so...
13:49So I definitely would have used the money to upgrade our wedding.
13:54Now we just keep it small and simple.
13:57Way to make us feel bad, Travis.
13:59All right, let's talk to Anna Marie, who used her pass.
14:03So I saw that it was B right away, and then I got really nervous, and I was like, it's
14:08not B.
14:08It's not B.
14:09It can't be B.
14:09And then I just pressed use pass, and then it was over.
14:12You're still in the game.
14:12I'm still in the game, but...
14:14So are you going to trust your instincts next time?
14:16Well, I have no other choice now.
14:18Yep.
14:19Very true.
14:20Are you marrying Travis?
14:21I think he cleaned my air ducts.
14:23I'm not joking.
14:24What the hell is that supposed to mean?
14:26No, don't!
14:28We all thought the same thing, right?
14:32No, not right!
14:34Then we'd definitely be getting married!
14:36I think Travis is interested, so...
14:38Oh, man!
14:42Anyway, our prize pot has grown to...
14:47$65,000!
14:51Those of you still in the game, congratulations.
14:54And production assistants still on the show, sorry I yelled about my coffee order.
14:59Everyone buckle up for the 45% question.
15:05The Ambassador Hotel has Ambassador written on their toilet paper, as shown here.
15:10There's one letter on the first sheet, two letters on the second sheet, three on the third,
15:14and so on.
15:15How many sheets are needed for the whole word Ambassador?
15:19Your time starts now.
15:21And when you're done answering, would you mind sliding some of that under the stall?
15:30I'm all out.
15:30Time is up.
15:46Let's see who answered correctly, and who is about to take the game show walk of shame.
15:52Four!
16:04We lost four of you on that question, which means we've got 38 of you left, and two of you
16:11used your pass.
16:13Here's the answer.
16:14Look at that graphic.
16:18We are looking for the number four, everybody.
16:21Let's talk to somebody who got it right.
16:23Emily?
16:24Hello!
16:25Emily, what do you do?
16:27I'm a high school history teacher.
16:28All right.
16:29Yeah, give it up, give it up, give it up.
16:31Emily, you got it right.
16:33I did.
16:33In 1.4 seconds.
16:35I love word puzzles.
16:37Anything that deals with, like, letters and numbers, I'm so here for it.
16:39You seem very confident, Emily.
16:41Yeah, like, not to be too prideful, but I am doing better than the majority of people
16:45in this room right now.
16:48Whoa, whoa, whoa!
16:49Whoa, you're only calling me arrogant because I'm a woman.
16:51Please!
16:52Wow.
16:54I don't think that's why.
16:57Emily, thank you for being here.
16:58Good job.
16:59All right, guys, our prize pot has grown to...
17:04$69,000!
17:06The questions are getting more difficult.
17:10If answering questions on TV makes you nervous, try to picture your brain naked.
17:16Only four out of ten Americans polled answered this one correctly.
17:21It's the 40% question.
17:25Within this friend group, Charles Dillon could be described as seedy,
17:30and Robin Thompson could be described as arty.
17:32By the same reasoning, how could you describe their friend, Kevin Grimes?
17:37Your time starts now.
17:46Aren't those the same three people who showed up at that restaurant in the 80% question?
17:50That's time, everyone.
18:05Let's see who answered correctly and who did not.
18:08We just lost six of you on that question, which means we've got 32 of you left,
18:26and 17 of you used your pass.
18:30Here's the answer.
18:31B, KG.
18:34Charles Dillon's initials CD sound like seedy when said out loud.
18:39Robin Thompson's initials RT sound like arty,
18:42and Kevin Grimes' initials KG sound, of course, like KG.
18:46I didn't know that one.
18:48All right, our prize pot now stands at...
18:52$88,000!
18:55Is it me, or is it getting tense in here?
18:59Let's try and relieve the pressure with some more high-stakes gameplay.
19:03Unleashing this next question is the meanest thing I've done so far today.
19:07It's the 35% question.
19:12You have just one of each of these denominations of play money.
19:171, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 500.
19:21Which of these totals cannot be made with the money you have?
19:26Your time starts now.
19:36Ooh, all that fake money is going to make you very unpopular at the strip club.
19:51Your time is up.
19:54Let's see who got that one right,
19:56and let's see who did not get it right.
20:09We lost three of you on that question,
20:12which means we've got 29 of you left,
20:14and three of you used your pass.
20:17Let's see the answer.
20:18C, when you add together all the bills lower than 500,
20:23you get a total of only 186,
20:26so it's impossible to make $190 exactly.
20:30And I have no idea what I just said.
20:34Okay, let's talk to somebody who got it right.
20:37Let's go to Julie.
20:38Oh, hi, Julie.
20:39Hi, Joel.
20:39How did you figure it out?
20:41I'm really good at math.
20:42All right, great.
20:43All right, moving on.
20:46Julie, what do you do?
20:47I basically drink champagne for a living.
20:52Yeah.
20:54All right, Julie, anybody at home?
20:57I do.
20:57My son's at home.
20:58Oh, how old is he?
20:5916.
21:0016, all right.
21:01Is he driving?
21:01He's about to, almost.
21:03I have a kid at home who's doing that right now.
21:05Yeah, how's he doing?
21:06Well, he's drunk on champagne most of the time.
21:08Good for him.
21:09Yeah, good for him.
21:11All right, well, Julie, thank you.
21:13And let's see where we are with the prize pot, shall we?
21:17$91,000.
21:21And it is going to keep going up from there.
21:24Eight questions down, 71 contestants eliminated, and still so many dreams left to dash.
21:30Who will make it to the end for a chance at a $100,000 jackpot?
21:35You'll have to stay tuned to find out.
21:37That's how TV works.
21:38More 1% Club after this.
21:51Welcome back to the 1% Club.
21:53If you lived on a game show set, you'd be home by now.
21:56We have 29 contestants remaining, and nine of you still have your pass.
22:02Very good.
22:03You've held on to it.
22:04All right.
22:05Right now, for anyone who still hasn't used their pass, you can either keep going and hope
22:10to make it to the 1% question and win up to $100,000, or you can take a guaranteed $1,000
22:16right now and leave the show.
22:19Please make your decision now.
22:26Two people, Nick and Matt, have decided to take their $1,000 and leave.
22:32Congratulations.
22:33The rest of the contestants decided to stay, leaving us 27 contestants still in the game.
22:39Here we go.
22:39Only three of 10 Americans answered this next question correctly, and no, it wasn't,
22:46do you find Joel McHale likable?
22:49Here is the 30% question.
22:54If you walk an equal distance in each of these directions, starting with the arrow on the left
22:59side of the screen, what shape will you have walked after you have finished them all?
23:04Your time starts now.
23:09Also, if someone's making you do this, it means you're about to fail a breathalyzer test.
23:30That is your time, everyone.
23:32Let's see who answered the 30% question incorrectly.
23:39We lost eight of you on that question, which means we've got 19 of you left, and nobody
23:55used their pass.
23:57All right, you want to see the answer?
23:58Here it is.
24:00The answer is star, everybody.
24:03Someone who did get this right.
24:05Ethan.
24:06Yes.
24:07Hi.
24:07How did you figure it out?
24:09I kind of just followed the lines in my head, and then I got confused somewhere in the
24:13middle, and it started going squeenacky, and then...
24:16What shape is a squeenacky?
24:19All over the place.
24:20Okay.
24:21And, Ethan, you still have your pass.
24:23I do, yeah.
24:23All right.
24:26That's...
24:26Are you playing with anyone here tonight?
24:30Yes, my brother right over there.
24:32Where's your brother?
24:32Hey!
24:33Hello!
24:33Hello!
24:33And you're still in it, aren't you?
24:36I am.
24:37I'm Paul.
24:38Wait, who's smarter?
24:39He's still got his pass.
24:41I don't have mine anymore, so that might tell you something.
24:43Paul, what would you do with the money?
24:45I'd like to buy a Miata.
24:48How very 1988 of you.
24:51Yeah, I like the little, the flappy headlights.
24:54They crack me out.
24:55You would buy a car because it was hilarious?
24:58Okay.
24:59We have 19 people left in the game.
25:01Let's look at the prize pot.
25:03$91,000.
25:06Everyone who was eliminated already used their passes, so the prize pot stays the same.
25:11Remaining contestants, go ahead and start thinking of the reckless ways you'll spend
25:14that money, like on a used Miata.
25:17Let's continue.
25:18This is your 25% question.
25:23The piece of paper inside this envelope has one commonly known six-letter word written
25:29on it.
25:29What one letter of the alphabet is completely hidden twice on that piece of paper?
25:34Your time starts now.
25:35I keep getting something similar slid under my dressing room door, but that just says
25:48die, Joel McHale.
26:01Time's up, everybody.
26:02Let's see who got it right and who is wrong.
26:18We lost five of you, which means that we've got 14 of you left, and two of you used your
26:25pass.
26:25Let's see the answer.
26:27H, it spells out health.
26:29Two people used their pass.
26:32Emily.
26:33I know.
26:34All right.
26:35I mean.
26:39I'm still in the game, so.
26:40Yeah, she's still in the game, guys.
26:44Do you feel like you're eating crow a little bit?
26:47Yes, rightfully so.
26:49Well, now we actually feel good for you.
26:52Okay.
26:53Let's talk to somebody who got it right and may now be more confident than Emily.
26:58Eric G., where are you?
26:59Oh, hi.
27:00Oh, hi, Eric.
27:01So, you got it right and you still have your pass.
27:08Eric got the answer in less than one second.
27:11What?
27:12Wow, wow, wow, wow.
27:16That's incredible.
27:18I got a little competitive when I heard her say she was really good at words, because I
27:23also like to think I'm very good at words.
27:27Me and my girlfriend play a lot of word games together.
27:29Is she watching right now?
27:31Oh, you just pointed up.
27:32Did she pass away?
27:33No, no, no.
27:33Sorry.
27:34No.
27:34She's very much alive.
27:36What's her name?
27:38Her name is Maddie.
27:39Maddie!
27:39Did you see Eric get this one right?
27:43Good job.
27:43He did great.
27:46Do you think you're going to win this whole thing?
27:47Uh, I hope so.
27:49I'm not as confident as she is, like, overall, but, like...
27:53Look at her now.
27:55I'm going to try my best, Joel.
27:57Way to go, Eric.
27:58Way to...
28:00Stay humble, but then go, like, I'm taking her down.
28:02So, uh, let's see what that last question did to the prize pot.
28:09$93,000.
28:1314 contestants are still in it, but there's trouble ahead.
28:17Our most difficult questions are yet to come.
28:19See who will crumble under the pressure when the 1% club returns.
28:23Welcome back to the 1% club.
28:36We are nearly to the end of the game, and here's what lies ahead.
28:39The contestants who make it the furthest will win a share of $10,000,
28:43or they can risk that share of $10K and take on the 1% question
28:48for a chance to win the contents of the prize pot,
28:50which is full of my award-winning chili.
28:53Oh, sorry.
28:55That's what's in my crock pot.
28:57The prize pot currently contains $93,000.
29:03If you still have your $1,000 left, like Eric,
29:07you can still pay for a pass,
29:09but you can't use it on the 1% question.
29:12Five of you still have a pass,
29:14and you've got four questions left to use it.
29:17Here is the 20% question.
29:23What is the minimum number of these colorful shapes
29:26you need to use in order to completely fill
29:29the inside of the white box?
29:31Your time starts now.
29:33On a related note,
29:42how many shows can I host
29:44until I fill the hole inside of me?
29:57And that is time, everybody.
30:00Let's see who answered correctly
30:02and who did not.
30:04Here we go.
30:19We lost nine of you on that question,
30:23which means we have five of you left.
30:26Only one of you used your pass.
30:31Very good, guys.
30:32You want to know the answer?
30:33Here we go.
30:35Two.
30:36The two largest triangles
30:38can be used to completely fill in the box.
30:41Nine people got it wrong.
30:43Let's talk to one of them.
30:44Emily.
30:45I know.
30:46I'm just down-
30:46I'm just downhill crash.
30:48You are so confident.
30:50I know.
30:51You made it pretty far.
30:52Not as far as your ego thought you were going.
30:54So close.
30:57So close.
30:58We still did so great.
30:59Yeah, we did.
31:00Well, Emily, yeah, you did do very well.
31:03All right.
31:04Let's go to the prize spot.
31:07$96,000.
31:11Okay.
31:12Here is the 15% question.
31:14Here we go.
31:15How many different or unique words
31:21are there in the tongue twister below?
31:24Your time starts now.
31:34And if you're wondering
31:35why this was written in the past tense,
31:37I have some bad news about fuzzy.
31:40Time, everybody.
31:52That is time.
31:54Let's see you answered correctly
31:55and who did not.
31:57We lost two of you on that question,
32:10which means we've got three of you left
32:12and none of you used your pass.
32:16How you guys doing?
32:18There he is.
32:21Here's the answer.
32:22There are 13 different words
32:26in the tongue twister above.
32:28Fuzzy, wuzzy, was a bear,
32:30had no hair,
32:32wasn't, he, or, after all.
32:37Sounded like my phone was cutting out.
32:40Ethan.
32:41Yeah.
32:42So close, man.
32:43Ah, yeah.
32:44Ethan, you made it very far.
32:47Farther than your brother, Paul.
32:50You can always hold that over him.
32:54We are down to only three contestants,
32:56which means everyone finally has some leg room.
32:59The prize pot is now stuffed with...
33:02$97,000.
33:08When we return,
33:09we will find out if any of these contestants
33:11can join the 1% Club
33:13and take home a prize up to $98,000
33:16only on Fox.
33:30Welcome back to the 1% Club,
33:32all the fun of Quiz Night at a bar
33:33without the headache of splitting the tap.
33:36We began with 100 contestants,
33:38and the cruel hand of game show fate
33:40has whittled that down to three.
33:42The contestants that make it the furthest in the game
33:44will win a share of $10,000,
33:47but if they're feeling brave,
33:48they can risk their share of that $10,000
33:50by taking on the 1% question
33:53for a chance to win everything in the prize pot,
33:56which is currently $97,000.
34:03But if anyone's going to win it,
34:05they need to survive our last three questions.
34:08If you still have your $1,000 left,
34:11you can pay for a pass,
34:13but you can't use it on the 1% question.
34:15Here is your 10% question.
34:21My birthday is the day before Earth Day.
34:24If these balloons are left over from my party,
34:27how many additional letter balloons
34:29do I need to buy
34:30so that tomorrow they can spell,
34:33yeah, Earth Day?
34:35Your time starts now.
34:38Your time is up.
35:03Let's see who is still in the game.
35:05We lost one on that question,
35:18which means we've got two of you left.
35:21Let's see that answer.
35:23Three.
35:24You need to buy two E-balloons
35:27and one more A-balloon.
35:29The other letters can all be recycled.
35:32E-E-A.
35:33Eric, you've made it to the final two questions.
35:40Shout out, Matty.
35:42Yeah.
35:44Matty, he's getting really close.
35:47Matty!
35:50It's okay.
35:51You think he's going all the way, Matty?
35:54Oh, you're making...
35:55She wants you to go all the way, Eric.
36:04Wow, I'm glad you guys saw that, too.
36:08So, Julie...
36:09I'm ready to go.
36:10You can have a glass of champagne if you win?
36:12Absolutely.
36:12Are you going to have two glasses of champagne if you lose?
36:15Ooh, probably.
36:16All right, good.
36:16As always, the $1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong
36:21or paid for a pass goes into the prize pot.
36:24So here we go.
36:27$98,000.
36:30And you are both one question away from having a chance to take it all home.
36:35Here is your 5% question.
36:38Which two colors on this list need to switch spots to make a rainbow?
36:47Your time starts now.
36:48That is time.
37:16Let's see who is still in the game.
37:18We lost neither of you on that question,
37:33which means we've got two of you left.
37:36What was the answer?
37:39Navy and white switch places,
37:42and you see how it spells out rainbow.
37:45First letters of every color, right there.
37:47Julie, Eric, nicely done.
37:49Let's look at the prize pot.
37:51It's $98,000.
37:54Congratulations, Julie and Eric.
37:56You've made it to our final question,
37:58which means you've now earned a share of $10,000,
38:02and you've got a chance to take on the 1% question
38:05and win the $98,000 in the prize pot.
38:08Let's give these folks a big round of applause.
38:10Maddie, stay tuned for our dramatic final round.
38:19I know I'll be there.
38:20Otherwise, I'd be sued for breach of contract.
38:24More 1% Club right after this.
38:26From 100 contestants to you, too.
38:42You're about to take on the final question of the game.
38:45Get it right, and you will win up to $98,000
38:48and become official members of the 1% Club.
38:52And that includes a laminated membership card.
38:55Pretty awesome, huh?
38:58But first, Eric and Julie, you need to make a decision.
39:02Either you can leave the show tonight
39:03and take your share of $10,000,
39:06which is, of course,
39:07$5,000,
39:11or you can risk it all on the 1% question.
39:15If you're right, you split everything in the prize pot,
39:18$98,000, with any other winners.
39:22If you're wrong, you leave with nothing.
39:24If only one of you gets the question right,
39:26then you can win the whole prize pot.
39:29So this could be a $98,000 decision.
39:34Okay.
39:35Are you going to take on the 1% question?
39:38You need to decide now.
39:40They're both going to play, everyone.
39:55They both will be taking on the 1% question.
39:59All right.
40:00At the beginning of the night,
40:01we started with 100 Americans
40:02who all wanted their chance at winning our prize pot.
40:05Now, we're down to only two
40:08who are going to face the 1% question.
40:11Eric and Julie,
40:12the only thing that stands between you
40:14and up to $98,000
40:15is the next question.
40:17You are just one answer away
40:19from joining the 1% club.
40:21Okay, guys.
40:22Here we go.
40:23Good luck.
40:24Here is the 1% question.
40:27Jerry, the car dealer,
40:31always prices his used cars
40:33based on the model year.
40:35Following his pattern,
40:37what price should we expect
40:38for a car from 1951?
40:41Your time starts now.
40:43That is time.
41:11Right now,
41:11your answers are locked in
41:12and you can't change them,
41:14so we may as well ask you
41:15what you've put.
41:17Julie, let's start with you.
41:18What was your answer?
41:20Uh, 2015.
41:23Okay.
41:24People like that.
41:25Why did you put 2015?
41:26I think you double the first number
41:28and add the remaining digits.
41:30Okay.
41:31That seems like a pattern.
41:33All right.
41:33Eric, what was your answer?
41:35I also put 2015.
41:38Okay.
41:39Shall we ask what Maddie put?
41:42I think she agrees with me.
41:45Okay.
41:46Why did you put 2015?
41:47Um, same reason.
41:48It looks like you multiply
41:49the first digit by two
41:50and then the other three digits
41:52are just adding up
41:52the rest of the numbers.
41:54Okay.
41:55We've heard your answers.
41:56Now it's time to find out
41:58if you are going to be joining
41:59the 1% club.
42:01For $98,000.
42:08Dude, I'm like shaking.
42:09The answer is...
42:16It is 2015!
42:19Jerry takes the first digit of the year
42:21and doubles it to get the first number.
42:23Then he adds the remaining numbers together
42:26to get the rest of the price.
42:27Ladies and gentlemen,
42:29let's hear it for our winners,
42:31Eric and Julie.
42:33You guys are splitting $98,000.
42:38You guys are walking away with $49,000.
42:42Each, you are officially in the 1% club.
42:45We'll see you all next time.
42:47Thanks, everybody, for playing.
42:48Way to go, everybody.
42:50Congratulations.
42:52You did it!
42:54Congratulations.
42:54Thank you, everybody.
42:55Oh, my God.
42:56You're welcome.
42:57Good job.
