00:00Have you ever wondered if you're the smartest person in the room, your office, or maybe even
00:07your hometown? I'm a real dummy. Think you'd be smarter than half the country? Top 10%? Or maybe
00:13even the top 1%? You know, I thought I could count and I can't. It doesn't matter where you went to
00:19school or what you do for a living. I'm a security consultant. Oh, okay. Basically a mall cop. How
00:24can you see crimes through your bangs? The 1% Club levels the playing field for everyone.
00:32Before the show, we asked people from all over the United States a list of our unique questions
00:36that are designed to test logic, common sense, and how our brain actually works. Which of the
00:42pictures below can you make with these cutout shapes? Tonight, we'll be asking those exact
00:49questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the easiest one that 90% of America got
00:53right and ending with the hardest question that only 1% of the American public answered correctly.
00:59At the start of each show, every contestant is given a $1,000 dig. If they get any question
01:04wrong, they're out of the game and their $1,000 goes into the prize box. We lost 36 of you. It's a
01:11bloodbath out here. Whoever gets the furthest tonight gets the chance to answer the final 1% question
01:16and take home up to $100,000. I'll be doing the asking tonight and here doing the answering are
01:23these 100 contestants.
01:28I'm Joel McHale and it's time to play the 1% Club.
01:33All right, we've got a lot of game to get through, but more importantly,
01:36they're hosting a bar mitzvah in here in about an hour. So,
01:39let's jump right into it with the first question of the night, the 90% question.
01:44Besides drawing pictures, this kid wrote three words on the window, which word would read the same
01:53when viewed from the outside looking in. Your time starts now.
01:57Look, couldn't he just write help on the window like my kids do?
02:07That's time. Now let's see how many of you got the question right and how many of you are out of the game.
02:21We lost three of you on that question, which means we've got 97 of you left. Here's the answer.
02:39B, toot. T and O read the same from the outside looking in. T and E will always be backwards.
02:49Now that looks like it's from a horror film where a ghost writes it's on the window there. That's great.
02:56One contestant who got it wrong is Brooke.
02:59Right here.
02:59Look, if we can still see you even though you're hunching down, you have to toot right now
03:04because I just did. I had a lot of dried fruit.
03:11What happened was... I don't even ask you.
03:14So what happened? What happened? I was like, write it on there. If I was a child, I just was like poop.
03:21So you were approaching it as a child and they're like, well, a child would always write poop.
03:25Yes, very much.
03:27Do you know that you're not going to win a hundred grand now?
03:30I look good in blue. Yeah. Brooke, thanks for playing.
03:34All right. The $1,000 of everyone who answered incorrectly goes into the prize pot, which is now at...
03:42$3,000, everybody. Let's clap for money. Congrats to everyone still in the game.
03:47The next question is more difficult unless you have all the answers like I do. Here is the 80% question.
03:57Lizzo's gold pendant has lost a couple of letters. Which of the gold letters below the pendant
04:03need to be put back on to make an actual word. Your time starts now.
04:14Nothing worse than a jeweler who uses substandard pendant glue. I said it, everybody.
04:25All right. That is your time. Now, let's see how many of you answered correctly and
04:32how many of you answered the opposite of correctly.
04:36We lost six of you on that last question, which means we've got 91 of you left. Let's see what the answer is.
04:54The only two letters that make a word are R and I, making the pendant read 100% that rich.
05:03All right. Let's talk to somebody who got it wrong. Marquinta.
05:06Over here in the blue.
05:09Marquinta, how are you?
05:10I am terrific. How are you?
05:12You're terrific even after getting that question wrong?
05:14Yes, because I had R.I. and I changed it because rich is beginning of my last name.
05:20What did you change it to?
05:21Well, I thought maybe they said it like in French, like biche or something. I don't know.
05:28So you thought it was 100% that biche.
05:32Like a biche on frise?
05:35So anyway, Marquinta, reach your thing.
05:37I have to say, very creative. Marquinta, thanks for being such a good sport.
05:44You're welcome.
05:48All right, let's talk to somebody who got it right. Monique.
05:51Hi.
05:51You got it right.
05:52I did.
05:53How did you figure it out?
05:54I was leaning towards the word we shall not pronounce, but I knew logically it could only be
05:59rich because I want to win the $100,000 and I want to be rich. So I'm 100% that rich.
06:04All right, Monique. Well, thank you for being here.
06:06How much do we have in the prize pod?
06:08It is now $9,000.
06:13You all seem a little too confident, so as punishment for believing in yourself,
06:18a question that stumped three out of 10 Americans we polled. Here is the 70% question.
06:27At a party, exactly three guests brought umbrellas and they left them by the door.
06:31As these guests were leaving, one took their own umbrella,
06:34but one took someone else's. What's left for the third person? Your time starts now.
06:40Exactly why I embroidered my name in all my umbrellas and underwear.
06:49Your time is up. Put your fingers down. Gods of studio lighting, show us who got that one right,
07:06and who got it wrong.
07:21Nine out. We lost nine of you on that question, which means we've got 82 of you left.
07:28You guys seem shocked. I can hear a lot of murmuring.
07:31Here's the answer.
07:33B, someone else's umbrella. The first person took their own umbrella. If the second person
07:39took someone else's umbrella, it had to belong to the third person. So the third person is left
07:45with the second person's umbrella. All right, let's talk to somebody who got it wrong. Craig?
07:52Craig, answer the question we're all wondering. Why did you wear that coat?
07:57You noticed it, didn't you? Yeah, are you like a music teacher at a high school?
08:00Yeah. Wait, you are? No.
08:04What do you do, Craig? Marketing. You gotta stand out.
08:06So when you walk into a small business, if you walk in wearing that sport coat, what do they say?
08:11Oh, it's a whole suit. Can you stand up?
08:20Okay. You are a real bish.
08:25It just makes me want to eat frosted flakes.
08:28They're great. Yeah, thank you. All right, let's see what that did to the prize pot.
08:35$18,000. It just keeps going up, everybody.
08:38That was a tough question, and I'm sorry to say you'll soon feel nostalgic for its simplicity.
08:45This next question has been described by folksy trivia players as one dilly of a pickle.
08:51Six out of 10 Americans polled got this right. It's the 60% question.
08:58What is the only word you can spot in this question that definitely has three syllables? Your time starts now.
09:08And yes, the question presumes that all of you can read.
09:17And that is time. Let's see who got the question wrong.
09:34We have lost four people on that question, which means we have got 78 left. And the answer is syllables.
09:55Every other word has one, two, or four syllables. All right, let's talk to somebody who got it wrong.
10:02Andrew.
10:02Hey.
10:03How are you, Bernie Madoff?
10:07Definitely not that good.
10:08So, Andrew, what happened?
10:09As I read this sentence and I got to a long word, I said definitely that's the answer without reading to the very end to see syllable.
10:17So, do you think it definitely has how many syllables?
10:19It had three, but now it's four.
10:22Okay. What do you do for a living there, Andrew?
10:24I'm a business consultant and now I've done some acting and things. I'm in some music videos for rap and hip-hop artists.
10:30Oh.
10:31Uh, whom?
10:32Um, Little Baby.
10:35Playing poker with Rick Ross in one.
10:37Wow. I don't know what to say. I'm a little speechless. But it's really, again, it's nice to meet the ghost of Bernie Madoff.
10:44What a whirlwind so far. I hated saying goodbye to 22 contestants, but I love saying hello to their money,
10:50which has increased our prize pot to...
10:54$22,000.
10:57Those of you still in the game are hurtling towards the fearsome 1% question and a chance at a $100,000 jackpot.
11:05The only thing in your way? Commercials. More 1% Club after this.
11:13Welcome back to the 1% Club, the most exclusive club in this time slot.
11:23So far, we've whittled 100 contestants down to 78 brave souls currently staring at me.
11:29For all of you that have survived up to this point, I've got some great news for you.
11:34For any of the next 10 questions, you can use the $1,000 we gave you to pay for a pass
11:40and move on to the next question. You can only do this once and your $1,000 will go straight into
11:45the prize pot. So use your pass wisely. All right, let's continue with the game.
11:50Here is your 50% question.
11:56Logically, which two words need to switch positions in the list seen here? Your time starts now.
12:02These are also ingredients in the pre-show hot dogs that we serve to you, everyone.
12:14Your time is up. Let's see who answered correctly and who did not.
12:32Seven are out. Yes, we lost seven of you on that question, which means we've got 71 of you left
12:52and 11 of you used your pass. And the answer is navel and nipples. These are human body parts
13:00listed in order of where they are physically located on the body of a standing person from
13:05top to bottom. However, your navel is below your nipples. So those two words need to switch order.
13:12The answer was navel and nipples, which is also a bar that I frequent. Craig and I go there all the time.
13:22Craig, you want to go to nipples and navel tonight? Absolutely. I got my new suit.
13:25All right, let's talk to somebody who got it wrong. V?
13:33V, you wrote chin-chin. What's a chin-chin? Listen, nipples threw me off. And so I was like,
13:40chin-chin, it's rhyming, but it was a lot going on, Joel. It was a lot. Let's not blame the nipples.
13:46Uh, all right. Well, keep your chin-chin up, okay? Let's talk to somebody who did use their pass.
13:53Kelsey. Right here. Oh. Hi. What do you do for a living? I'm a software engineer, so I make sure
13:59your websites look very pretty. Oh. Yeah. All right. Kelsey, did you come with anyone tonight?
14:03I did. My best friend. Where's your best friend? Lacey, you're in the blue light. In the blue light.
14:13So what happened? Anxiety. I overthought it. The lights, the flashing. Clicked too fast.
14:19Was it navel? Was it nipples? Was it chin? Was it chin? Which... So your friend's smarter than you?
14:24She's a software engineer. Today, she can have it. What do you do? I'm also a software engineer. Oh.
14:31Who's better? I got her into the field, so. Oh, whose light is still on?
14:36What? This friendship is really crumbling before our eyes. We'll handle this later.
14:42Let's get in the center, and we'll dupe it out. All right. Let's go to our prize pot.
14:49$40,000. All right. Congratulations to those of you still in the game. You've earned yourself a
14:57breather. Okay. That's enough rest. Time for the 45% question.
15:01Assuming it's not a holiday, throughout which of the following times could you legally park your car on the street seen below?
15:11Your time starts now.
15:21Guys, this is a real tough one for me since I have a chauffeur.
15:24Your time is up. It's time to find out who got it right, Dan, who did not get it right.
15:4318 are out. Good God. We've got 53 of you left, and 30 of you used your pass.
16:08Yes. The answer is B. Option B is correct because you can park for one hour between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
16:16Option A and C are both wrong because there's no parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
16:23All right. Let's talk to somebody who got it wrong. Kelsey, you just got done ridiculing your friend Lisey here.
16:32The color blue. I'm doing very blue right now. Very blue.
16:35Are you giving us a poem? Lisey, you want to say anything to your friend?
16:41God doesn't like ugly.
16:46We lost 18 people in that round and one friendship.
16:49All right. Let's see what that did to the prize pot.
16:54$82,000. That is a lot of passes, guys.
16:58Guys, contestants, there is a 100% chance that this is the 40% question.
17:05What is the only card from a standard deck to have all four of its suits shown in this picture?
17:11Your time starts now.
17:19And if I got caught counting cards, how many of my thumbs would the pit boss break?
17:24Your time is up. Let's see who entered correctly and who did not.
17:41We lost 10 of you on that question, which means we've got 43 of you left and four of you used your pass.
18:02Here's the answer. Five. The five of hearts, clubs, spades, and diamonds are all in the picture.
18:10Let's talk to somebody who used their pass. Tierney.
18:12Hi, Joel.
18:13Tierney, holy crap, you're positive.
18:15Yes, I am.
18:18Hey, you've gotten this far, huh?
18:19Yes. Very exciting.
18:21Tierney, what do you do for work?
18:22I'm a positive psychology practitioner.
18:24Shocker.
18:25Yeah.
18:27So I teach people how to struggle well and how to live a flourishing life.
18:31That's amazing.
18:32Well, you're still in the game.
18:34We're going to make it.
18:35Moving on.
18:36Let's see what that did to the prize pot, shall we?
18:41$86,000. Not too shabby, guys.
18:45Start stretching your cranium.
18:47Time to wrap your heads around the 35% question.
18:53Drew is the Wicked Witch of the West.
18:54Vicky is the Wicked Witch of the East.
18:56Alexis is the Wicked Witch of the South.
18:59Logically, who is the Wicked Witch of the North?
19:01Your time starts now.
19:11All I know is that I'm loving this season of The Real Housewives of Oz.
19:14Okay, your time is up.
19:29Let's see who got that right and who got it wrong.
19:32Oh, we lost 14 of you on that question, which means we've got 29 of you left and four of you used your pass.
19:53Here's the answer.
19:55Karen, each witch's name ends with the first letter of the direction on the compass that they represent.
20:01The first letter of North is N, and the only name ending in N is Karen.
20:08Let's talk to somebody who got it right.
20:10Ava.
20:11Hi.
20:12You got it.
20:13I did, yes.
20:14What do you do for a living?
20:15I am a medical assistant right now.
20:18I work for a geneticist, so we look at people that have genetic mutations.
20:23Can you help us live forever?
20:24Yes.
20:25Great.
20:26That's all I need to know.
20:27Okay, and you still have your pass.
20:29I do.
20:30That's pretty impressive.
20:31Well, thank you, Ava.
20:33All right, let's see what that last question did to the prize pot.
20:38We're up to $91,000.
20:41We've burned to eight questions, which is exciting.
20:44We're down to 29 contestants, which is scary.
20:47And I am still hosting this show, which is surprising.
20:50Let's see which of these survivors can drag their aching brains across the finish line when the 1% Club returns.
21:00Welcome back to the 1% Club.
21:05Only 29 of you remain.
21:08Look to your left.
21:09Look to your right.
21:10And now that your necks are warmed up, we can continue.
21:13We've got $91,000 in the prize pot, and we're left with 29 contestants.
21:18Nine of you still have your pass.
21:21Very good.
21:21You've held on to it.
21:22All right.
21:23So right now, you can either keep going and hope to make it to the 1% question and win up to $100,000,
21:30or you can take a guaranteed $1,000 right now and leave the show.
21:34Please make your decision now.
21:44One of you has decided to take the $1,000 and leave the show.
21:48Kim.
21:49Hi.
21:50What made you want to walk away now?
21:51Was it something I said?
21:55Usually when I play along on the TV, I don't make it past the 30%.
21:59So I was feeling really lucky right now and wanting to say that I won money on a game show.
22:04Oh.
22:04And I did.
22:05All right.
22:05Yeah, you absolutely did.
22:08Tim, thank you.
22:10Okay.
22:10So the rest of our contestants decided to stay, leaving us 28 contestants still in the game,
22:16vying for up to $100,000.
22:19Good Lord.
22:19I love questions of increasing difficulty.
22:22Here is your 30% question.
22:24I want an aisle seat with as much leg room as possible without having to pay extra.
22:32What is the row number and letter of the available seat that I should pick?
22:36Your time starts now.
22:37Finally, a question that involves both my height and my cheapness.
22:49I want an aisle seat with as much leg room as possible without having to pay extra.
23:01Okay, your time is up.
23:04Let's see which unfortunate souls were just claimed by the 30% question.
23:08We lost four of you on that question, which means we've got 24 of you left and only one of you used your pass.
23:29Here's the answer, 3C. The two rows with the most leg room are 1 and 3, but row 1 cost extra.
23:37Of the blue available seats, the only free aisle seat in row 3 is 3C.
23:43All right, let's talk to somebody who got it right, Katie.
23:46Katie, hi, Katie.
23:47Hi.
23:47How'd you figure it out?
23:48I fly on a lot of planes.
23:50Oh, well, what do you do for a living, Katie?
23:52I'm a sommelier.
23:53You're my favorite contestant.
23:55You're my favorite host.
23:56This works out great.
23:57You've already won $100,000.
24:00What's your favorite wine right now?
24:02That's like picking your favorite kid.
24:04Who's your favorite kid?
24:05I can't say that on television.
24:07Oh, but you have one.
24:08Okay.
24:10Great.
24:10All right.
24:10Well, Katie, you're still in the game.
24:12That round pushed the prize pot to a total of $94,000.
24:20Let's keep it going.
24:21This is the 25% question.
24:23If you were going to place the letters on this gear shifter in alphabetical order from
24:31top to bottom, which one letter wouldn't need to move?
24:35Your time starts now.
24:37And please do not attempt to solve this puzzle while the car is in motion.
24:52Time's up, everybody.
25:03Let's see who got it right and, you know, who got it wrong.
25:06We lost five of you on that question, which means we've got 19 of you left and one of you used your pass.
25:27All right, here's the answer.
25:29The letters are currently P-R-N-D-S-L in alphabetical order.
25:34The letters are D-L-N-P-R-S, so N is in the same position.
25:40Let's talk to somebody who got it right, Bob.
25:43Hello, Joel.
25:44Bob, you used your pass.
25:45I did, I did.
25:47When are you going to be performing at the Margaritaville bar?
25:50Only when it moves up to the North Pole.
25:51Okay.
25:53What do you do for a living, Bob?
25:54I just enjoy life.
25:55Now I'm retired.
25:56Retired from what?
25:57Well, I spent 20 years in the submarine service.
25:59Okay.
26:00And then I spent 22 years helping to build submarines.
26:03Great.
26:03Did the elves help you build those submarines?
26:06You know, for some of the positions that you got to get into for building submarines,
26:10we need some elves down there at the shipyards.
26:11All right.
26:12Well, thank you, Tropical Santa.
26:13Okay.
26:15Let's see what the last question did to the prize pot.
26:21$96,000.
26:24Wow.
26:24All right.
26:24We are knee-deep in this competition, and I wish I would have worn better shoes.
26:2919 contestants are still illuminated by the fragile light of victory,
26:33but we need to save on the studio's electrical bill.
26:36So lots more challenging questions ahead when the 1% Club returns.
26:39Well, look who came crawling back for more 1% Club.
26:53Let's get back to it.
26:54Contestants who make it to the final question will win a share of $10,000, or if they're feeling
27:00bold slash greedy, they can risk that money and take on the 1% question for a chance to win
27:06everything in the prize pot, which is currently full of $96,000.
27:11And if you still have your $1,000 left, you can still pay for a pass, but you can't use it on the 1%
27:18question. Three of you still have a pass, and you've got four questions left to use it.
27:23Here we go. Only two out of 10 Americans got this next question right.
27:27Here is your 20% question.
27:33Logically, what two letters should fill in the blanks to finish this sequence?
27:37Your time starts now.
27:46I've drunkenly mumbled most of these words at 3 a.m. in Las Vegas.
27:50That's what they have in common.
28:03That is time, everyone.
28:04Let's see who answered correctly and who did not.
28:18One.
28:18We only lost one of you on that question, which means we've got 18 of you left,
28:24and none of you used your pass.
28:26Here's the answer.
28:28D-Y.
28:29Each word ends in a consecutive letter of the alphabet, followed by the letter Y,
28:34so after A-Y, B-Y, and C-Y, the final word is shady, ending in D-Y.
28:41All right, well, let's talk to somebody who got it right. Erin, how are you?
28:44Good. Hi, how are you?
28:45I am well. How quickly did you figure it out?
28:47Pretty quickly.
28:483.4 seconds, I'm being told.
28:50Exactly. Yeah.
28:52Anybody else get it right that fast?
28:53Yes.
28:54I mean, we...
28:57So, you got the answer right faster than 3.4 seconds?
29:00Yes.
29:01But you're not playing, you're out of the game.
29:03No, I'm not.
29:06Well, let's talk to someone else who did get it right and is still in the game.
29:11All right, Amanda, 1.7 seconds, I'm being told.
29:17Is it because you're both wearing green blouses?
29:19Maybe. The show likes answers that make sense, and so I went with it.
29:24We sure do, and your logic is sound.
29:28Well, thank you for being here. You are still in the game. Very good.
29:31All right, let's see how much is in the prize pot now.
29:34$96,000. Because the person who got out already used their pass, the prize pot remains the same.
29:41$96,000. And I'm not just saying that because the lighting effects are giving me vertigo, everybody.
29:49Next, a question so challenging that out of 10 Americans polled, only one and a half answered it correctly.
29:56Please don't ask how we split a person in half. Here is your 15% question.
30:04Assuming that all the missing pieces in this puzzle are basically the same size,
30:10how many pieces are needed to complete it? Your time starts now.
30:22Wow, what a completely beautiful natural hairline on that gentleman. Amazing.
30:34And that is time, everybody. Let's see who answered correctly and who did not.
30:43Music
30:48We lost nine of you on that question, which means we've got nine of you left,
31:02nine of you left, and none of you used your pass. Here is the answer.
31:0825. The interior area has six spaces on one side and four on the other, making 24.
31:16With the missing corner added, that's 25. When you saw my face, why did you all go,
31:20oh, let's talk to somebody who got it right. Adam.
31:24Hey, how's it going, Joel? I love your shirt.
31:26Thank you. I am very purple. What do you do for a living?
31:29Uh, I am a stay-at-home dad slash civil rights lawyer. What would you do with the money?
31:35I think I'm having a midlife crisis, so Brazilian butt lift, maybe?
31:39I thought your butt looked great. Appreciate it.
31:42I hope you get a partial butt lift at least out of this.
31:44One cheek. Adam, thank you.
31:47Let's see what happened to our prize pot now.
31:52$97,000. This is what we're left with. Nine contestants, $97,000 in the prize pot,
32:00and a host who hasn't had a bathroom break for 45 minutes. Things are getting tense in here.
32:06When we return, we'll discover if anyone can make it to the 1% Club and win up to $100,000.
32:12Welcome back to the 1% Club. We started the game with 100 contestants.
32:24They may just be faces in the crowd to you at home, but to me, they are all unique human beings,
32:30like number 17 and number 49. Two of you still have a pass, Ava and Amanda, and you've got two
32:36questions left to use it, including this one, a question so challenging, there's no way I'm getting
32:41through it without mispronouncing something. Contestants, here is your 10% question.
32:50While choosing a storage unit, Eunice said she'd never pick something that was next to a green door.
32:56She needed an even number, and she would not take a unit that was directly above or below red.
33:02Which number did she pick? Your time starts now.
33:16That is time, everyone. Let's see who is still in the game.
33:35Three. We have lost three of you on that question, which means we've got six of you
33:53left and one of you used your pass. All right, here's the answer.
33:58Unit 202. The only even number that's not next to a green door or found above or below red
34:07is unit 202. She said she'd never pick something next to a green door, but she didn't say she
34:13wouldn't pick an actual green door. Let's talk to somebody who got it right. Caroline.
34:19Hello.
34:19Anybody at home waiting to know how you did tonight?
34:23I do have someone at home. His name's Andrew. That's my partner. Is he your first boyfriend?
34:29He's not. Okay. Got some other lovers maybe from the past that might have a tooth in the in the game.
34:35Wait. You said tooth in the game. I did. I actually have a singular tooth from all of my past lovers,
34:44given to me of their own volition. What the hell is happening?
34:48And you just wanted a tooth. I never asked. The first one was, it was supposed to be sentimental.
34:56And then I think after that, no one wanted me to have one singular tooth. And so now they're in a
35:00pill bottle underneath my bed. Who's terrified? Okay. 83% of you are terrified. 16% are like,
35:10no, it seems okay. All right, cool. Thank you for being here. And I will, I'm terrified. That's great.
35:17Let's see what the last question did to the prize pot. 98,000 dollars in there, guys.
35:27Ava, you still have your $1,000, which means if you pay for a pass on this next 5% question,
35:33you are guaranteed to go on to the final. All right. Here is your 5% question. Get nervous.
35:42On our first anniversary, I got flip-flops because F is the first letter in first. On our second
35:48anniversary, I got an espresso machine because E is the second letter in second. But on what
35:55anniversary will this pattern of gifts no longer work? Your time starts now.
36:03Okay, your time is up. Let's see who is still in the game.
36:29We lost two of you on that question, which means we've got four of you left.
36:47And Ava did not use her pass.
36:49She's guaranteed $1,000, everybody. Here's the answer. Six. Six doesn't have a six letter,
36:58so the pattern will no longer work after fifth. Congratulations, Adam, Caroline, Ava, and Amanda.
37:05You've made it to our final question, which means you've now earned a share of $10,000,
37:10and you've got a chance to take on the 1% question and win the $98,000 in the prize pot.
37:16When we return, thrills, chills, unexpected twists and turns. Then once we get the contestants off the
37:22roller coaster, we will finish the game and find out if any of these players will join the 1% club
37:28right after this. From 100 contestants down to you four, you're about to take on the final question
37:44of the game. Get it right and you could win up to $98,000 and become official members of the 1% club.
37:50I'm not one for dramatic pronouncements, but this is the biggest moment of your lives and will remain
37:56so until the end of time itself. Now that I've ladled on enough pressure, you need to make a decision.
38:04Either you can leave the show tonight and take your share of $10,000, which is $2,500,
38:13or you can risk it all and take on the 1% question. If you're right,
38:18you can split everything in the prize pot, $98,000 with any other winners. If you're wrong,
38:25you leave with nothing. Unless you've held on to your $1,000 this whole time like Ava.
38:33Nice job, Ava. If only one of you get the question right, then you can win the whole prize pot. So this
38:40could be a $98,000 decision. Okay, it's time to decide now.
38:55Adam, Caroline, Amanda, Ava will take on the 1% question. All right. At the beginning of the night,
39:11we started with 100 Americans who all wanted their chance at winning our prize pot. Now we're down
39:17to only four who are going to face the 1% question. Amanda, Adam, Caroline, and Ava, you are just one
39:26answer away from joining the 1% club. Here is the 1% question.
39:31Answer the question below. Your time starts now.
40:01And that's time, everyone. Okay, guys, right now your answers are locked in and you can't change
40:08them. So we may as well ask you what you put. Amanda, let's start with you.
40:13I just got the first two letters, but like I got CH.
40:20Okay, so you got CH. Adam, how about you? Chat. Okay, chat. At least it's a word.
40:28Caroline, what did you put? I also didn't finish answering it.
40:31Missed it by a tooth. Okay, Ava? I put two.
40:36You put the number two? No, T-U. You put T-U, which is probably a word in another language.
40:43In Spanish. Oh, all right. We've heard everyone's answers. Now it's time to find out
40:49if any of you are going to be joining the 1% club tonight. Let's see what the answer was.
40:58For $98,000, the answer is champion.
41:08The question is, what word do this question's incorrect letters spell? And as you can see,
41:13they spell champion. Amanda, Adam, Caroline, and Ava, I'm so sorry you did not make it into the 1%
41:22club, but I've taken the liberty of enrolling you in the Joel McHale fan club. We will collect your
41:28dues after the show. All right. We will be right back here next week to see if anyone can correctly
41:36answer the answer the 1% question and walk out of here with up to $100,000. See you all next time,
41:43guys. Good night.
41:47Thank you, guys.
41:49Thank you, guys.
41:55Tempers, flare, and betrayal.
