00:19Ukraine and Europe have presented Washington with a counter-proposal for a ceasefire ahead of talks between the US and Russia, according to two European officials cited by the Wall Street Journal.
00:34Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the idea of ceding territory, following US suggestions that a deal with Russia could involve swapping territories.
00:44Several European leaders have come to Zelensky's side, demanding that Ukraine and Europe be included ahead of planned talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
00:57Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities continue.
01:02On Saturday, several people were injured following Russian airstrikes on Kharkiv, and two people were killed in Kherson.
01:09The Kremlin's bigger army is also slowly advancing deeper into Ukraine as it grinds on with its war.
01:21Armenia and Azerbaijan sign a historic peace deal on Friday at the White House in Washington.
01:27After almost four decades of a bloody Karabakh conflict, leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ilham Elivet and Nicole Pashinyan, both praised US Donald Trump who brokered the deal.

02:46and take control of Gaza's city.
02:48Many world leaders already criticized the move following its announcement on Friday
02:53as international pressure on Israel mounts to end the war.
02:57Even the latest action of Israel we've seen in the last 24 hours is wrong
03:01and actually it risks violating international law and it's really important that actually
03:05that military action is not going to solve more of this problem.
03:09International powers, including Israeli allies France, Germany and Canada,
03:13have stepped up criticism of the war amid shock over reports of starvation.
03:18Several countries have coordinated aid drops over Gaza as Israel's blockade and offensive
03:23hinder safe deliveries, pushing the territory toward famine.
03:28The UN and aid groups call such drops costly and dangerous for residents and say they deliver
03:33far less aid than trucks.
03:35The UN Security Council announced an emergency meeting on Israel's plans is scheduled to take
03:40place on Sunday.
03:47Firefighters are battling wildfires across southern Europe as extreme heat grips the region with
03:52record-breaking temperatures.
03:55In France, about 1,400 firefighters were deployed on Saturday in the southern Ode region to prevent
04:01the country's largest wildfire in decades from reigniting.
04:04The fire has been contained since Thursday after burning more than 160 square kilometers in the
04:10wooded region known for its wineries.
04:14Firefighters also continue to battle an active wildfire in the Avila province of central western
04:19Spain, as well as in Greece, some 40 kilometers southeast of Athens and Caratea.
04:25Another fire that broke out on Friday in western Turkey has been largely brought under control,
04:30according to the country's agriculture and forestry minister.
04:34Southern Europe has seen multiple large fires this summer.
04:38Scientists warn that climate change is exacerbating the frequency and intensity of heat and dryness,
04:44making the region more vulnerable to wildfires.
