00:00Hi, today we will visit one of the best traditional Yakutian restaurants, Chichur Muran, and we
00:06will show what we usually eat in the coldest city Yakutsk.
00:13This is traditional Yakutian hunting lodge.
00:15Yakutian men can't live without hunting.
00:18They usually build their own hunting lodge in the middle of the forest.
00:22This lodge is usually filled with stuffed animals to represent their trophies.
00:28According to our traditions, we worship and appreciate nature.
00:31At the start of the meal, we give traditional Yakutian pancakes to the fire as a tribute
00:37and blessing to the spirit of fire, which protects us and keeps us warm.
00:43Because of our cold climate in Yakutia, it's almost impossible to grow fruits and vegetables.
00:49Yakutian cuisine is made of teiri, meat, fish, and wild spears.
00:55Meat and fish is often eaten raw in a lightly frozen state.
01:03One of the best known Yakutian dishes is stroganina, a long thin slices of frozen arctic river fish.
01:10When it's time to slice, we hold this fish vertically and carve in long strokes using a traditional
01:16Yakutian knife.
01:18The texture taste is very soft, fresh, frosty, and very nutritious.
01:22It's very delicious.
01:23It's very delicious.

01:27It's very delicious.
01:28I just don't have a word.
01:29Another Yakutian delicacy is frozen raw, fall, meat, and liver.
01:33The history of the Yakutian horse is inseparable to the history of the Yakutian people.
01:42Out of all types of meat, only fall is considerably suitable for eating raw.
01:48This has been an important dish, helping my ancestors to survive in these extreme conditions.
01:53One of the main dishes is the car rice fish.
02:17It's one of my favorite Yakutian dishes.
02:19We usually fry it, and the most delicious, fatty, and nutritious part is the fish roll.
02:37For dessert, we eat kurta, which is made of whipped cream and frozen cowberries.
02:42Yakutian people harvest wild berries during the short summer and freeze it to eat it during
02:48long and cold winters.
02:50It has a very nice texture, it looks like cream, and now we'll try it for the taste.
02:55It's very tasty, airy.
02:57In Yakutia, the desserts are mostly made of milk products.
03:08An important dish of Yakutian festive table is salamat.
03:11It's made of butter and flour, similar to the sauce pachamel.
03:16It's usually eaten with bread and is the fattest Yakutian dish, which helps us keep warm
03:21during our extremely cold winters.
03:28This Yakutian traditional drink, kumis, is fermented mayor's milk.
03:33It has a unique sour taste with a slightly alcoholic punch.
03:38It's usually served cold in a traditional Yakutian cup.
03:41It's a kislamoloxic product.
03:43It tastes like a...
03:45A dose.
03:46We invite you to Yakutia to try our national food.
03:50Thank you to that.
03:51Thank you, Dave.
04:02You're listening to Yakutian first day.
