'Why Are You Singling India Out': Reporter Presses Trump On Tariff Punishment For Russian Oil Buys

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump was asked about his tariffs on India.

00:00Mr. President, if you do reach a deal with Ukraine and Russia, would you drop the additional tariffs on India?

00:06Well, we'll determine that later, but right now they're paying a 50% tariff.

00:16The President wants a made-in-the-USA iPhone. What are the chances that you can actually make that happen?

00:23Well, if you look at the bulk of it, we're doing a lot of the semiconductors here.

00:27We're doing the glass here. We're doing the face ID modules here.

00:32So there's a ton of it, and we're doing these for products sold elsewhere in the world.

00:38And so there's a lot of content in there from the United States.

00:41But what about the whole thing?

00:42We're very proud of it.

00:43Can you make the whole thing?

00:45The whole thing is just the final assembly that you're focused on, and that will be elsewhere for a while.

00:52He makes many of the components here, and we've been talking about it.

00:57And the whole thing is set up at other places, and it's been there for a long time, so in terms of cost and all.

01:03But I think we may incentivize him enough that one day he'll be bringing that.

01:08But he brings most of the stuff.

01:10Look, he's not making this kind of an investment anywhere in the world, not even close.

01:15I mean, Apple's coming back to America.

01:18Mr. President, Mr. President, Indian officials have said that there are other countries that are buying Russian oil.
