00:14Nineteen senators voted in favor of archiving the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte,
00:21while only four senators voting against it and one abstention.
00:26But what does it mean to be archived?

00:37Those who voted yes explained that they want to obey the Supreme Court or SC,
00:42who declared the articles of impeachment as unconstitutional.

00:52Ang voto ko ng yes ay hindi pagtatanggol sa kanya, kundi pagtatanggol sa legalidad ng proseso.

01:03We may not agree with every word of that ruling, but the rule of law is not a matter of convenience.
01:10And if I were to take the duty to my heart, I believe the decision is very clear.
01:19No impeachment court was validly convened.
01:23Restraint is not weakness. It is obedience to constitutional order.
01:29But for some who voted no, they want to wait first for the result of the appeal filed before the SC.
01:36I've always voted in the minority in many issues in the Senate since 1992 up to the present.
01:44Always prayed I was wrong. Unfortunately, I was always right.
01:50Meanwhile, Senate President Francis Escudero couldn't help but lambast critics and those who are critical of the high court's ruling.

02:29We are not an accomplice in any grand scheme.
02:34For now, the SC has yet to decide on the appeal regarding their verdict related to the impeachment.
