00:00The ball is now in the Senate if Vice President Sara Duterte will be impeached, but she will not be chased before the Senate is adjourned.

00:09So it is possible that she will take action after the midterm elections.

00:19After Vice President Sara Duterte was impeached in the House of Representatives,

00:24At 5 p.m., House Secretary General Reginald Velasco arrived in the Senate to transmit the Articles of Impeachment.

00:33Velasco brought a thick copy of the complaint where the list of signatures in the impeachment and the entire complaint is included.

00:42They also brought the list of prosecutors.

00:45The documents were formally received by Senate Secretary Renato Bantug Jr.

00:52It depends on the Senate. We will respect whatever decision they have.

00:57But it is their constitutional duty to act on this.

01:01They can convene a court even during the break because this is a non-legislative function of the Senate.

01:11Yesterday was the last day of the session before the elections.

01:15The Senate adjourned the impeachment without discussion.

01:19Session is adjourned until 3 o'clock in the afternoon of Monday, June 2, 2025.

01:26Before the Senate convenes as an impeachment court where the Senators will stand as Senator-Judge,

01:33some Senators believe that this should be acted on by a plenary session.

01:38But the Senate plenary session will be back in June.

01:42We will do everything.

01:45Even the declaration of the Senators sitting as an impeachment court needs a plenary action.

01:53Again, it is the plenary action that would give us the go signal that we can...

02:00When we have a break, even if it's just a committee meeting,

02:04you need to mention in the plenary that this is authorized by each member of the Senate.

02:13That's why it's a big question as to how the Senate will convene as an impeachment court.

02:19We are the majority here, the rule of the majority.

02:22So, if the Senators meet, the rule of the majority will be part of it.

02:30So, it depends on the Senate Presidency.

02:32That's the only difficulty there.

02:34Maybe the referral to the announcement to the body that we are in receipt of an impeachment complaint
