Labor leaders criticise independent MP Mark Latham over his behaviour in parliament, even after an attempt to censure the independent failed when the coalition opposition, the Greens, and minor party MPs voted to adjourn the motion until October.

00:00Parliamentary privilege is an incredibly important thing that only MPs get.
00:03It needs to be used responsibly and judiciously.
00:06Mark Lytham is a serial offender in this.
00:08There is no one he won't go after.
00:10There's no one he won't double down on.
00:11He's a one-trick pony, he'll pull it over and over again, but that doesn't mean that
00:16the Parliament shouldn't act and shouldn't hold him to account.
00:19That's his modus operandi, he goes after anyone who holds him to account, and I think that
00:22there's probably been a reluctance, not because he's a big fish, but because mostly for the
00:28previous government and the current government, he's been an irrelevance.
00:32Despite the fact that it's irritating when he goes on unsubstantiated attacks on family
00:39members of mine, we do have to draw a line in the sand.
