National Appeal as Dozens Remain at Large After Summer Riots

Police forces across five regions are still hunting for forty individuals linked to serious offences - including assault and violent disorder.

00:00It's now been more than a year since three young girls were killed at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

00:07In the wake of that tragedy, violent unrest broke out across the country.

00:11Now, police are still searching for dozens of suspects believed to have played a part.

00:16Disorder quickly followed the stabbings on the 29th of July 2024,

00:20fuelled in part by online disinformation about the attacker.

00:53The oldest person to receive an immediate prison sentence was 69-year-old William Morgan from Walton,

01:00who was jailed for two years and eight months for violent disorder

01:02and possessing an offensive weapon during unrest in Liverpool on August 3rd last year.

01:08The youngest is a 12-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons,

01:12who threw stones at police after rioting erupted outside a mosque in Southport,

01:16and who was given a 12-month referral order plus a three-month carefew order.

01:21His father received a six-month parenting order.
