00:14The bilateral meeting between President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the second day of the President's state visit to India was productive.
00:24Following the meetings of the two leaders, 13 documents on bilateral agreements were signed.
00:28Among these is the formal establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries.
00:33Also included is the action for implementation of this partnership.
00:37Defense and maritime cooperation agreements were also signed, centered on enhancing cooperation between the Philippine Navy and Air Force and their counterparts in India.
00:46Agreements covering legal matters, science and technology, tourism and others were also inked.
00:51The President emphasized that as the Philippine pushes for defense modernization, India's support will be of great help.
00:57We expressed satisfaction over the rapid pace of the Philippine's ongoing defense modernization and expanding capabilities and footprints of India's indigenous defense industry as a partner in this undertaking,
01:12exemplified by our Brahmos project.
01:15We concurred that we should be accompanied with intensified dialogue and exchanges between our defense establishments.
01:24So we have agreed to establish mechanisms for service-to-service talks, for information sharing and training exchanges amongst our militaries.
01:34We will foster naval and Coast Guard interoperability via port calls, cooperative activities and capacity building in the maritime domain.
01:44The President and the Prime Minister also agreed to work closely to promote a free and peaceful Indo-Pacific region.
01:50Prime Minister Modi and I have committed to bring our collaboration to bear on shared concerns,
01:57a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region, security and rule of law in the maritime commons,
02:05supply chain resilience, food security, countering terrorism and other traditional and non-traditional threats.
02:13The two leaders also discussed strengthening economic ties, people-to-people relations and tourism.
