Transcript
00:00Food Tours today. We're at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter here in Universal Studios Hollywood.
00:05I'm with my friend David. Check this out. You're a Harry Potter fan.
00:08I'm a huge fan.
00:09I know virtually nothing about Harry Potter.
00:12So in this video, you the fan and me the novice are going to try the best food and snacks Harry Potter Land has to offer us.
00:18You hungry?
00:19You got it. I am starving. Let's dive in.
00:23Alright, this is the three broomsticks.
00:26We're here because they serve breakfast, specifically traditional English breakfast.
00:30And that's because Harry Potter takes place in England.
00:33See, I did my research.
00:34You did your research, yeah.
00:35We're going to get the two traditional English breakfasts.
00:38Heck yeah.
00:38And what do we say we wash those down with two hot butter beers?
00:41We're at a theme park.
00:42Yeah.
00:42This is ridiculous.
00:43This is a lot.
00:44This looks really good.
00:45I mean, we got scrambled eggs, baked beans, black pudding, croissant, ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes, mushroom, and this guy, which is a baked tomato.
00:54I mean, this is a lot of food.
00:56This is a lot of food.
00:57It looks absolutely delicious.
00:58Okay.
00:59Eat first, talk second.
01:00Great.
01:01These eggs.
01:05Got a banger on the plate too.
01:06Let's go.
01:07Banger.
01:08What's a banger?
01:09You're referring to the sausage?
01:10Yes.
01:10Yeah.
01:11I don't know if it's officially a banger.
01:12Yeah.
01:12A banger begins and the sausage ends, but.
01:14Mmm.
01:15This is great.
01:16Honestly, that ham so far, like that's nice.
01:21Okay, fried tomato here.
01:23Alright.
01:23They're baked, how's the tomato part?
01:24Oh, tomato, so fancy.
01:26We don't say tomato?
01:27No.
01:27No.
01:28That's what I call over there.
01:29Oh, we're over there, yes.
01:30Right, we're in Jolly Old England.
01:32The blood sausage is especially very good.
01:33I feel like that's a sausage where it has a lot more of the non-meat sausage ingredients,
01:37like oats and spices and stuff, and I think that the blood is more because it's made with a bloody,
01:43and that adds a flavor to it.
01:45Like the after flavor, it's almost like, not spicy, but like Christmas sausage, you know?
01:50Like those spices, the cloves, the cinnamon.
01:53This is what this show's all about, baby.
01:54Look at this guy right before your eyes.
01:56Right.
01:57Didn't like it, and I loves it.
01:57Maybe I'll try fish today.
02:00Alright, slow down.
02:01I don't want to let you end up in the hospital or anything.
02:03Okay, I am wowed by the quality and amount of food we're getting at, again, Universal Studios.
02:09I thought it was going to be, you know, cotton candy and hot dogs all day.
02:11English breakfast, that is very rare, right?
02:14So what's your favorite thing on the plate?
02:16If you had to pick like one star of the show for you, like, what's that?
02:20If I had to narrow it down, I'm going to pick a meat.
02:22I think my favorite meat actually is the sausage.
02:25Wow.
02:25And I like the potatoes, but the beans are very good too.
02:28And anyone who watches the show knows that beans for breakfast, I'm always like, what are you doing?
02:31But these beans with the potatoes, it's really hitting the spot.
02:34Now, how do these beans compare?
02:36You were in London with Harry.
02:37Not that Harry.
02:38The other Harry.
02:39Yep.
02:40How do these beans compare to the beans you had over there for breakfast?
02:44These beans are actually a little more what I would expect in America.
02:48A little bit sweeter.
02:49Not too sweet.
02:49They're not like baked beans.
02:50But Americans are usually used to here.
02:52Over there, they're tomato-based beans, and it does taste like very tomato and savory.
02:58These have a little bit more of that American sweetness.
02:59Okay.
03:00Which I feel like they're going to make it palatable to the masses.
03:02Totally.
03:02Totally get it.
03:03For me, out of the meats, I have to say, this ham is the best.
03:07Yep.
03:08And these potatoes.
03:09All right.
03:09Mmm.
03:10I love the potatoes.
03:12All right.
03:12So, the butter beer.
03:14The hot butter beer.
03:15Hot butter beer.
03:16Cheers.
03:16It's mostly hot in the show?
03:17Yeah.
03:17In other movies?
03:18Yeah.
03:18It's sort of warm.
03:19It's supposed to be very, like, a cozy, homey drink.
03:22Let's see if...
03:24Ooh.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Is it butterscotch or caramel?
03:28Probably butterscotch because of the butter.
03:30Does this have coffee in it?
03:31Is it a coffee...
03:32This does not have coffee in it.
03:34I believe it's a butterscotch-based drink.
03:36There's a little bit of vanilla in here as well.
03:38Vanilla?
03:39That tastes vanilla, yeah.
03:40Oh, sommelier over here.
03:41Vanilla?
03:42Hints of, like, what else?
03:42That's right.
03:43Mr. Fancy tastes the two things.
03:44Mr. Fancy.
03:45No alcohol, even though it's called butter beer.
03:48Dang.
03:48It's alcohol-free.
03:49All right, I'll drink it.
03:50This is great.
03:51I think I want this when I'm walking around the park.
03:53It's chilly.
03:54I think it tastes great.
03:54It pairs with this very well.
03:56I'm more of a caffeine guy in the morning, so I'll probably go for a coffee over this.
04:00But, all right, I was worried that all the butter stuff was going to taste like butter.
04:03Yeah.
04:03I just was like, oh, ooh.
04:04You know, remember that butter coffee craze that was going on for a couple years ago?
04:07I do remember.
04:08I never had it.
04:09But this is more like butterscotch, possibly caramel.
04:11I don't know where one ends and the other begins.
04:12You're right, though.
04:13This tastes like something, like, I love those, like, hot...
04:16Like a caramel latte you would get at Starbucks or something, and that's much of coffee.
04:19This is great for that.
04:20What's going to be funny about today, I think, you're a Harry Potter head.
04:23You're into that, you know, stuff?
04:24Yeah, I love it.
04:24Okay.
04:25I'm a novice.
04:25I know very little about it.
04:26So, this video, this is the only video, I think, where a fan and a novice are going through it together and giving their honest opinions.
04:33Okay.
04:33Right?
04:34Most people, either they love it and they go here and they love the thing they were predisposed to love.
04:37Yeah.
04:37And then some people are like, man, I'm too cool for this.
04:39Nothing's cool.
04:40I'm not saying I'm being dragged along.
04:41I want to be here.
04:41Right.
04:42I think I have that point of view of, like, what is this like for someone who's not into it?
04:45And to be honest, someone who's not into Harry Potter, this is a very good breakfast.
04:48I mean, we've spent 45 seconds in this park just walking through here, and I am very impressed with this.
04:54What was your initial reaction?
04:55We turned that corner to Hogsmeade.
04:56You look at everything.
04:57What was your initial, like, gut reaction?
04:59It's just a weird feeling of, like, wait, did we time travel?
05:01Like, how is this?
05:02It genuinely feels like a different place.
05:04Yeah.
05:04The whole place is covered in snow.
05:05I'm wearing my jacket.
05:06I'm like, ooh, I'm cold.
05:07Like, why am I...
05:07I see people walking around with t-shirts.
05:09What's going on?
05:09It's snowing.
05:10No, it's not.
05:10It's that level of detail that my mind is like, ah, I'm totally discombobulated.
05:14So, it's working effectively already.
05:16And when we finish these, and you have to use the public conveniences, keep a listen out, because you might hear Moaning Myrtle.
05:22What's Moaning Myrtle?
05:23What are we talking about?
05:23Moaning Myrtle is a character.
05:25She's a ghost, and you meet her in the movies.
05:27Did she die in the toilet?
05:28Is she forever haunting a bathroom?
05:29Well, she did die in a bathroom.
05:31Oh, my God.
05:32Is she like Elvis?
05:33She died on the can?
05:34I mean, she's not like Elvis, but that's funny.
05:37Yeah, thank you.
05:38Oh, thanks.
05:39Yeah.
05:40Uh, I would like to sit here, eat this whole thing, go say hi to Myrtle, but we have more food and drink to eat.
05:47Indeed.
05:47Let's do it.
05:48Let's do it.
05:49Ah, well, it's been 42 seconds.
05:51Do you want to get something to eat?
05:52Yep.
05:52And what's better than after breakfast than some candy?
05:55Oh, God.
05:55This is Honeyduke.
05:58So we're going to come here really for like all of your candies, confections from the book.
06:02Chocolate frogs.
06:03Behind me, we of course have Bertie Bot's Every Flavored Beans.
06:07That's what, this is Every Flavored Beans?
06:08Yeah, and I mean like every flavor.
06:10So we're talking from grass to rotten egg, like some are going to be good.
06:16What is it about kids and candy that tastes terrible?
06:19You pick it and you don't know what you're going to get.
06:21So that, that moment of like, ew, it's gross.
06:23But, um, roulette, eh?
06:24All right.
06:25These are the Sherbert Lemons.
06:26Oh, it comes in a little goblet.
06:27Wasn't there a Goblet of Fire movie?
06:29There was a Goblet of Fire.
06:30So there was a Goblet of Fire in the movie.
06:32In the movies, there are.
06:33And also in the movies, Sherbert Lemons, Dumbledore was a huge fan of these.
06:37The password to his office is actually Sherbert Lemons.
06:40So a little like Easter egg for the Harry Potter fans.
06:42This stuff is great.
06:44Honestly, to me, this is the more like fun choice.
06:47If we're going for flavor, I think we're going to go over to the case
06:51and we're going to pick some treats out over there.
06:53So I know we've already had some butterbeer to drink,
06:55but we're also going to sample some butterbeer flavored food.
06:59So we're going to get some butterbeer fudge
07:00and then let's get something non-butterbeer flavor.
07:03Ooh, I think one of these cauldron cakes would be nice to try.
07:08All of it's amazing, but we have to pace ourselves
07:10because we're coming back later for some ice cream.
07:13That's quite a variety, to be honest.
07:14I'm wondering if you just start with the butterbeer squares
07:16because this looks almost like a cheesecake bar or something.
07:19So you want to start with these?
07:20Yeah.
07:21I mean, butterscotch and fudge together
07:23seems like a winning combination, right?
07:25There you go.
07:25Yes, so a little butterbeer and fudge.
07:27Here we go.
07:33That's fantastic.
07:34Yeah.
07:34It's really good.
07:35Yeah.
07:35Are you a fudge fan in general?
07:37Yeah, absolutely.
07:38Yeah.
07:38And obviously butterscotch.
07:40Yeah.
07:40Butterscotch is a beverage.
07:41I'm still kind of like getting used to it.
07:43Yeah.
07:43I think that, you know,
07:44it's a tall order to make something palatable
07:46that was like invented first.
07:48I feel like what they have established here
07:50as the butterbeer flavor.
07:51Yeah.
07:52Pairs perfectly.
07:53I think it was made to pair with that fudge.
07:55Yeah.
07:55That's really good.
07:56This is excellent.
07:57We have a lot of candy.
07:59Oh, man.
07:59I would love to eat this over.
08:00I know.
08:00I was going to say,
08:01this will be like the hardest.
08:03This might have been the first candy
08:04that was introduced.
08:05I have seen some movies
08:06and I remember he opens this up
08:08and, oh, there's like a little.
08:10Oh, yeah.
08:11You have a little character card.
08:14Okay.
08:14Daisy Dottoridge built the Leaky Cauldron,
08:17a pub which serves a gateway
08:19between the Muggle world and Diagon Alley.
08:23Are these words you know?
08:24Yeah.
08:24Oh, that's really fun
08:25for kids to get used to
08:26drinking at pubs.
08:27That's a really nice thing.
08:28Totally.
08:29You know, even as a kid,
08:30you can go to a pub and be there all day.
08:32All right.
08:32This is just a chocolate
08:33frog.
08:33Yeah, this is just a chocolate frog.
08:36That's a decent amount of chocolate.
08:38Yeah.
08:38I mean, I like chocolate.
08:40I would say I don't love chocolate.
08:42This is way too much chocolate for me.
08:44Is that just a block of chocolate?
08:46Don't chip a tooth or nothing there, guy.
08:47Oh, is that the chocolate or your tooth?
08:50It's a block of chocolate.
08:51Okay.
08:51So, I mean, to me, the experience of it, A+.
08:56Not as easy to eat as, say, a chocolate Easter bunny
08:59where it's hollow.
09:00That was very difficult to eat.
09:02On to the goblet of lemons.
09:04What's more refreshing than a salad?
09:07This goes back to the thing I was talking about.
09:08Like, kids love candy.
09:10That's a challenge to eat.
09:11I mean...
09:12Are you a lemon fan?
09:13Yeah, sure, I guess.
09:15I just like it.
09:16All right.
09:16But this is lemon sherbet.
09:17These are sherbet lemons.
09:21Okay.
09:21I thought they're hard, so this is going to be like a
09:24put it in your mouth, enjoy it slowly.
09:27Not sour, not tart.
09:29Yeah.
09:29It's a lemon head.
09:30I feel like this is a fun souvenir home treat.
09:34I don't know if this is screaming out to me,
09:36something I want to be enjoying in the parks,
09:38but as that softened up, though, that's good.
09:40Yeah.
09:41And the thing that, even as a kid,
09:43I understand why people want jelly beans
09:45that possibly have flavored, like, gross things.
09:47Yeah.
09:48You had mentioned that,
09:49so I think it comes with a key.
09:51Why don't we grab a couple flavors
09:52and see if we can guess.
09:53Oh, man.
09:55I'm going to go with this one
09:57that has, like, multiple colors.
10:01You're a brave man.
10:03Bubble gum.
10:04Bubble gum.
10:05Oh, okay.
10:06All right.
10:07I'll go, um...
10:09I'll go blue.
10:11Okay.
10:11Because what...
10:12Is there anything gross that's blue?
10:14That's not gross.
10:15That's going to be...
10:16It's fruity, maybe.
10:17It's blueberry.
10:18I'm going to go for ones
10:18that I think are probably gross flavor.
10:20This looks like snot.
10:22Oh, I got one of those, too.
10:27Let's look on the key.
10:28It might be booger.
10:29It wasn't banana.
10:31Sherbert lemon.
10:32There's a sausage one,
10:33and I want to try that.
10:34You do want to try the sausage one,
10:36that brownish-looking one?
10:37I mean, I found a gray one.
10:38That's going to be black pepper.
10:40What's another one?
10:41Oh, yeah, boogies.
10:42The one we just ate before that.
10:43That was...
10:44Was it the booger one?
10:44Yeah, that was the booger one.
10:45Oh, I was right.
10:46Which is weird,
10:46because it tasted...
10:47Soap.
10:47It tasted a little sweet.
10:48Oh, where's soap?
10:49Soap is white.
10:50Yeah, okay.
10:51I'll go for soap.
10:53Do we think this is soap?
10:54Uh, that...
10:55Or earwax.
10:56I think it's earwax.
10:57Oh, God.
11:00Oh.
11:01I don't know what earwax tastes like,
11:03but that doesn't taste good.
11:04Oh, no.
11:05No, no, no.
11:06There's a vomit one in there.
11:07I'm very curious.
11:08You're curious to try vomit?
11:10Well, I mean, I know what vomit tastes like.
11:11You do?
11:12Yeah.
11:12I don't know if that's vomit
11:13or something else.
11:16That's vomit.
11:17That's vomit.
11:19And I lied.
11:20I did know it,
11:21so I'm sorry.
11:22You know what that tasted like?
11:22It tasted like a...
11:23Acid reflux?
11:24Like cheese.
11:25Ew.
11:25Yeah, like a hard cheese.
11:28Yeah, like I put it in.
11:29It's the same way
11:30if I was tasting
11:30like a real strong Parmesan.
11:31Oh.
11:32Which I guess kind of like
11:33has the stomach gas.
11:35That was really gross.
11:35This is either green apple
11:37or grass.
11:38Okay, go.
11:41That's grass.
11:42Was it?
11:43That's definitely grass.
11:44Although,
11:46I know it shouldn't taste good,
11:47but somehow
11:48it's summery.
11:50Like, I'm not mad about it.
11:53Okay.
11:54No more of this.
11:55No more of this.
11:55What are we doing next?
11:56You want that?
11:57The cauldron of cake.
11:58That's all we have left.
11:58Yeah, cauldron cake.
11:59They're doling out box cake.
12:01Let's see what we got here.
12:02All right.
12:02Here we go.
12:03Frosting and a little cake underneath.
12:05Looks to be chocolate.
12:07It's a lot of frosting.
12:10Yeah.
12:12Mmm.
12:13Yep.
12:13Ooh.
12:15Oh, very yummy.
12:17Mmm.
12:18Yeah.
12:18They were generous with the frosting,
12:20which I like.
12:20And as far as like
12:22doling out cake
12:23while you're walking around,
12:24I mean,
12:24this is really great
12:26because like
12:26this isn't edible,
12:27so it's easy to carry around.
12:29It has like
12:29this like durability to it
12:30because you know
12:30kids are going to be dropping this like.
12:31Totally.
12:32Yeah.
12:33And my hands are going to stay clean.
12:35Like this is a really
12:35theme park friendly way
12:37to have some cake.
12:38Yeah.
12:38And it's good cake.
12:40An amazing sweet treat for sure.
12:42Yes.
12:43I think we've got more fun,
12:45Potter themed stuff to eat.
12:46Want to hit the next spot?
12:47Yes, but before we go
12:48eat something else,
12:49let's stop off somewhere
12:50to digest a little bit
12:51and do something non-food related.
12:53All right.
12:54I'm going to next thing.
12:56All right.
12:57Every wizard needs a wand.
12:58You're ready to go
12:59have a wand choose you?
13:00Sure.
13:01Let's do it.
13:01It's a good one.
13:02Hello.
13:03Is it just random?
13:04Like, oh, I see that.
13:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:05So you can find them by
13:07character.
13:09Oh, right.
13:09So some people choose
13:10based on character.
13:11Some people choose
13:12based on how the wand looks.
13:14That's funny.
13:15You even get the bad guy's wand.
13:16Yeah, Voldemort.
13:17That's pretty funny.
13:18What's cool about it
13:19is in the wands
13:20there's an interactive map
13:22and so this is going to
13:23sort of guide us
13:25to where we can use the wand.
13:27You want to go do some magic tricks?
13:28Yeah, we'll do some magic tricks.
13:29All right.
13:29Let's go cast some spells.
13:31Do it.
13:31This is for a whole door here, huh?
13:33Aloha morha.
13:34So around and down.
13:37Aloha morha.
13:38Should it be open?
13:39It looks like the handle moved.
13:41There it is.
13:43Oh.
13:45Whoa.
13:46Wow.
13:50That is very cool.
13:52Yeah, okay.
13:52I think this is the one
13:52right here as well.
13:53All right.
13:53So here we go.
13:54Incendia, we're going up
13:55like a triangle
13:56with a little curve.
13:56Give it your best shot.
13:57Just so this is going to be
13:58shh, shh, shh.
13:59All right.
14:00Ahem.
14:00Incendio.
14:04First try, baby.
14:07Honestly, you just got to
14:08play to the sensor.
14:08It's right there.
14:09Yeah.
14:10But okay.
14:11Not to dispel the magic,
14:12but if you aim towards
14:13the sensor there,
14:13it works a lot easier.
14:14It looks a lot better.
14:16All right.
14:17Back to Honeydukes,
14:18but this time we are here
14:19for Florian Fortescue's
14:20ice cream.
14:22Hello.
14:23Can we do two butterbeer
14:25and two toffee apple cups?
14:28All right.
14:29Look at that.
14:30Two ice creams.
14:31Yes.
14:31Now we're talking.
14:32All right.
14:33About time we had
14:33something sweet.
14:34Yeah.
14:35Taste first,
14:36talk second.
14:37All right.
14:39Yeah, you know what?
14:40This might be the best
14:42butterbeer flavor form
14:43that I've had today.
14:45You keep saying that.
14:46I love it.
14:46What?
14:46It's like every week,
14:48you're like,
14:48no, this is the best.
14:49No, this is the best.
14:50I mean, it's butterscotch.
14:51Yeah.
14:51Ice cream, butterscotch.
14:53McDonald's,
14:54one of the most famous
14:54sundaes they had
14:55was the butterscotch.
14:56Yeah.
14:56This tastes very similar.
14:58I'm glad you got
14:59to drink butterbeer first.
15:01Yeah.
15:01But I have to say,
15:02the food that incorporates
15:04butterbeer into it,
15:06I'm such a fan.
15:07It is butterscotch
15:08and it's made to be
15:09cold and creamy.
15:10Yeah.
15:10All right.
15:11As you can see
15:12from all the swirls and stuff,
15:13that I think is probably
15:14the butterbeer-flavored syrup.
15:16But also the ice cream,
15:18it's not just straight up
15:19like vanilla soft serve.
15:20It has a butterscotch,
15:22excuse me,
15:22butterbeer flavor to it.
15:23Looking at the ice cream,
15:24I thought it was
15:25vanilla with the edges.
15:27Yeah, me too.
15:27Yeah, I thought that too.
15:28And then now that I'm in here
15:29without any edges,
15:30no, the whole thing
15:32is flavored like butterbeer.
15:34Yeah.
15:35All right, next flavor.
15:36All right.
15:36We've got to move fast
15:37and it's starting to melt.
15:38Let's get flavor number two.
15:40This is toffee apple?
15:44Okay.
15:46First bite, I think, is apple.
15:47I see brown underneath,
15:48so let me see if that's the toffee.
15:49You've got to mix it.
15:50Yeah.
15:50Let me see if that's...
15:53Yeah, oh.
15:54Yeah, what's this all about?
15:55Yeah, so they do have
15:56green Granny Smith apple,
15:57apple in there.
15:58Yeah.
15:59They have the toffee
16:00in there as well.
16:01Yeah.
16:01This is the toffee apple,
16:03so I think we're getting
16:04the apple on the top,
16:05the toffee.
16:05I don't like either
16:06by themselves,
16:07but I will say
16:08if you go from, like,
16:09bottom to top
16:09and you get them together,
16:10that's a fun little magic trick.
16:12Yeah, apple's not my first choice
16:14for ice cream flavor
16:15or any flavor
16:16other than apples,
16:17to be honest.
16:18Yeah.
16:18In ice cream form,
16:19it's just not,
16:20it's not really doing it for me.
16:21I think it's because
16:22it's mostly the vanilla
16:23soft serve flavor
16:24with hints of apple and toffee,
16:26but when you have a candy apple
16:28or a taffy apple,
16:29it's the whole thing, right?
16:30The idea of this to me
16:31is so good.
16:32I just have to work so hard
16:33to get both in one bite.
16:35I would have preferred
16:36the side-by-side in the machine
16:38and then the swirl.
16:39Like, if every bite
16:40had that natural swirl
16:41and I could eat it from anywhere,
16:43I'm not loving the apple alone.
16:45I'm not loving the toffee alone.
16:47Together, I like them,
16:47but I just have to work very hard
16:49to get that bite in.
16:50Okay, I'm imagining a scenario
16:51where I would get this
16:51and someone's got the butterbeer.
16:53I'd taste this one.
16:54I'm like, that's fine.
16:54Then it tastes the butterbeer
16:55and the rest of the day,
16:56I'm like,
16:56you should have gotten the butterbeer.
16:57I mean, I do have some people
16:59that I'm friends with
16:59that they don't love
17:00the butterscotch flavor,
17:01so this is fun
17:02that they have another option.
17:03Cut them out of your life.
17:04Cut them out of my life.
17:06They're gone.
17:06I agree, I agree.
17:08Hey, it's ice cream.
17:09Who doesn't love it?
17:10Delicious.
17:11Could finish the butterbeer
17:12and be happy,
17:13but we have a few more things to eat.
17:15Let's go.
17:16All right, back to the three boomsticks.
17:19That looks like a triangle.
17:20That's great.
17:22Hello.
17:23Hey, thanks.
17:24We back.
17:25Oh, goodness.
17:27All right, we've gone on
17:28a bit of a sweets run,
17:29so it's nice to be sitting in front of,
17:30dare I say, real food.
17:32Yes.
17:32And this looks very good.
17:33Good spread they got here.
17:34Everything looks great, smells great.
17:36All right, let's dive in,
17:36taste this shepherd's pie.
17:38Shepherd's pie first.
17:38Ooh, crispy potatoes on the top.
17:40Yeah, and even though it's shepherd's pie,
17:41I think it's beef,
17:42so I think really this would be a cottage pie.
17:46Mm, yeah, okay.
17:47Mm.
17:49Great portion of potatoes.
17:50Yeah.
17:50Potatoes are really crispy and nice.
17:52I was trying to see, like,
17:53what's inside there.
17:54I see some peas,
17:56some carrots, potato.
17:58I mean, this is very hot.
17:59You know, I would say that
18:01they've done a really good job here.
18:02We came here for breakfast,
18:03and now we're back here.
18:04I think it is quite a challenge to be like,
18:06how do you introduce
18:06somewhat traditional English food
18:08to an amusement park setting
18:10where you're going to be walking around,
18:12eating a bunch of candy,
18:14riding on rides.
18:14Because I mean,
18:15English food is just like,
18:16fill up your stomach with heaviness.
18:18So normally I wouldn't have shepherd's pie
18:21and then go on a roller coaster.
18:22Yeah.
18:22But you have to say,
18:23as far as the portion sizes
18:24and the taste,
18:25the stuff,
18:25they're hitting the mark
18:26of it being something that,
18:28yeah,
18:28I could see myself
18:28having lunch or dinner here
18:31being full
18:31and not really missing a step
18:32as far as park activities.
18:34What do you think?
18:34Yeah, especially if you come here
18:35for dinner,
18:36you're going to be tired.
18:37You're hitting rides all day.
18:39Just like we were,
18:40we were indulging in
18:41some maybe butterbeer ice cream
18:42or some other sweet treats.
18:44I'm still tasting those jelly beans
18:45to be honest with you.
18:46So to get this,
18:47get a taste in my mouth,
18:48fantastic.
18:49Let's try the cold butterbeer.
18:50All right,
18:50so we've had,
18:51hang on,
18:51started off with hot.
18:52Yep.
18:53We had the ice cream
18:53and we had the fudge version.
18:54Yep.
18:55This is the cold.
18:56They all have the same topping
18:57and then they offer a vegan topping
18:59if someone can't have dairy.
19:01But the topping is going to be the same
19:03regardless of what type
19:04of butterbeer you're drinking.
19:09Fun.
19:10Almost cold version
19:11gives me like cream,
19:12soda vibes
19:13with like a hint of butter.
19:15I was about to say,
19:16I know this taste.
19:17It's cream soda.
19:18I love cream soda.
19:19The hot version,
19:20I was really getting like
19:21butterscotch more.
19:23This is more.
19:23This I'm getting less butterscotch.
19:25Okay.
19:26Shepherd's pie hitting the spot,
19:27especially after a day
19:28of consuming junk food.
19:30A light salad,
19:31some greens,
19:32really want this.
19:32I'll be honest with you.
19:33They have salad in this world,
19:35so I'm not interested in it.
19:36I'm here for the,
19:37great.
19:37I'm here for the Harry Potter
19:38specific stuff.
19:39Of course we have
19:39fish and chips.
19:41I'm surprised
19:42that you suggested
19:43a fish and chips.
19:44Well.
19:44Because depending on
19:45the order people watch this,
19:46you've said several times,
19:47if it's from the sea,
19:48it does not go in,
19:49me meaning you.
19:50I'm allergic to shellfish.
19:51Uh oh.
19:51So I've just sort of
19:52naturally avoided
19:53all fish.
19:53This is just packed
19:54shrimp and all fish.
19:55Although,
19:57my mother would trick me
19:59and give me fish sticks
20:00at a young age
20:00and tell me they were
20:01chicken tenders,
20:02and so I was very upset
20:03when I like learned
20:04what she was doing.
20:05But you didn't have
20:06a reaction to it.
20:07No, I didn't.
20:08Way to go, Mom.
20:09All right,
20:09I'm going to try a fry first.
20:11Also, I asked for
20:12some vinegar
20:12because usually
20:13with fish and chips,
20:15you put vinegar
20:16on the fish
20:16and the chips
20:17and you also use tartar sauce.
20:18Do we knife and fork this?
20:20Are we digging in
20:21with our hands?
20:21Mate.
20:21How does one
20:22eat fish and chips?
20:23Mate, come on.
20:24Oh my God.
20:26Sometimes the chippies
20:26will have these little
20:27wooden forks
20:28for picking at it
20:28because some fish and chips
20:30places,
20:31they'll give you
20:31like a huge piece of fish.
20:33But I think for this
20:34biggest go.
20:35You know what?
20:36You're not going to do
20:36the tartar sauce?
20:37No.
20:38We can choose one battle
20:39at a time
20:40and this is the one.
20:41Here we go.
20:42Oh my God.
20:43Have you ever had
20:43the filet of fish?
20:44No.
20:45I don't eat fish.
20:49Measure eating chicken.
20:50Okay.
20:51That is so mild.
20:52You don't say.
20:53I'm getting the fry.
20:54Wow.
20:55Oh my God.
20:56I would totally
20:57have lied to me as a kid
20:58and been like,
20:59this is a chicken tender.
21:00Yeah.
21:00This, with ketchup.
21:02This is the second
21:03revelation we've had
21:04in just one day.
21:05Oh my God.
21:05The blood sausage
21:06of the blood pudding
21:07from earlier
21:07and now fish.
21:07Okay, but I didn't
21:08like love that.
21:09But this.
21:09Okay, but you're eating it.
21:10This, I'm surprised.
21:11Like, wow.
21:12I would say don't tell
21:13my husband,
21:14but he's going to see
21:14the video.
21:15My wife stopped
21:16watching these videos
21:16years ago.
21:18Wow.
21:19With the lemon?
21:21That is good.
21:24Okay.
21:24So you can see
21:25why this is such
21:25a popular snack
21:26in the UK
21:27for hundreds of years.
21:28I mean,
21:28that whitefish,
21:29it's somewhat flavorless
21:30and when I was
21:31over there in the UK
21:32doing the food tours,
21:33Harry took me
21:33to a bunch of spots.
21:34We tried different
21:35types of fish
21:36and yes,
21:36next to it,
21:37I was like,
21:38okay, that's rock,
21:39that's place.
21:40There's different types
21:40of whitefish they have.
21:41Yeah.
21:42But if you just gave me one,
21:43I don't think
21:43I would pick out of it.
21:44It's a very mild
21:44difference of the flavor.
21:45And chips,
21:46obviously,
21:47fries.
21:47How do these compare
21:48to like the chips
21:49you had over in London?
21:51You know,
21:51glad you asked me that.
21:52I'll say it.
21:54USA has better fries.
21:55They like the thick fries.
21:57Like a steak fry?
21:58Yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:58Yeah.
21:59The thinner,
21:59the crisper,
22:00the better.
22:00I think that they did.
22:01Well, we had the shepherd's pie,
22:03we had the fish and chips.
22:04Do you have any room
22:05left at all for dessert?
22:06Always.
22:06Let's do it.
22:07All right.
22:08So in addition to
22:09butter beer,
22:10one of the things
22:11the students of Hogwarts
22:13like to drink
22:13was pumpkin juice.
22:14So since we are
22:15in a pub environment,
22:17I thought it'd be fun
22:17to try some pumpkin juice.
22:18Cheers to a great day
22:20in the originating world
22:20of Harry Potter.
22:24Oh, it's just like cider.
22:26Yeah.
22:26That's really nice.
22:27Yeah, that's nice.
22:28Sweet.
22:29Sweet.
22:29A little flavor to it.
22:30Well, this will have
22:31some butterscotch flavors to it,
22:33so this is a nice
22:34little palate cleanser.
22:35All right,
22:35sticky toffee pudding.
22:36Have you ever had
22:36sticky toffee pudding before?
22:37It is one of my favorites.
22:39Oh, nice.
22:39Yeah.
22:40All right.
22:41I should say
22:42that I had the sticky toffee pudding
22:44at Hell's Kitchen,
22:45Gordon Ramsay's restaurant.
22:46Okay.
22:46So, and it was quite fantastic.
22:48Yeah?
22:48But it's not a contest.
22:49Okay.
22:50Have you had it in London?
22:52I have, actually, yes.
22:54All right.
22:55All right.
22:55I think it's funny
22:56that they call
22:56all desserts over there
22:57pudding.
22:58That was very confusing to me.
23:01I agree.
23:02Mmm.
23:02Yeah.
23:03Uh-huh.
23:03I didn't know what to expect
23:05if the vanilla,
23:06if the ice cream was vanilla
23:07or butterscotch.
23:08I have to say,
23:09after a lot of
23:10butterbeer-flavored things,
23:13it's nice to just have
23:14something be like vanilla
23:15and not too butterscotch-y.
23:18Mmm.
23:20That's very good.
23:21Mmm.
23:21I got to see them
23:22sort of finish these.
23:23Okay.
23:24The syrup they put on it
23:26and then the chips here.
23:29What an interesting contrast.
23:31Out in the park,
23:32it's sweets everywhere,
23:33including the ice cream,
23:34the soft serve
23:34that we had before.
23:35Yeah.
23:36I'm going to come in here
23:36and have this dessert
23:37that there's a nuance
23:38to making this taste
23:39as good as it is,
23:40which this is very good.
23:41Very delicious.
23:42Also thick, too.
23:43Like, don't let the small
23:45sizes fool you.
23:45This is not for one person.
23:46Especially after having,
23:47you know, fish and chips
23:48or a shepherd's pie.
23:51Yeah.
23:51I love this,
23:52but I'm very, very full
23:54and we have to save room
23:55because we have had
23:57hot butterbeer.
23:58We have had cold butterbeer.
24:00After this,
24:01we have to round out
24:01our butterbeer journey
24:03and we have to get
24:03the frozen butterbeer.
24:04The butterbeer industry
24:06is thriving.
24:06Thriving.
24:07Ugh.
24:08All right.
24:08One stop left.
24:10Let's get some...
24:10Let's get a frozen butterbeer.
24:12Frozen butterbeer.
24:13Oh, Jesus Christ.
24:15Hello.
24:16So, two frozen butterbeers, please.
24:18Yeah, this looks all right.
24:20And there's no alcohol in this?
24:21There's no alcohol
24:22in the butterbeer
24:24at Universal Studios.
24:25All right.
24:26We're here at the cross section
24:27between Hogsmeade
24:28and Hogwarts.
24:30Final treat of the day,
24:32some frozen butterbeer.
24:34Mm.
24:35I get it now.
24:36Yeah, it's like a frozen butter...
24:37With a butterbeer mustache.
24:38That's nice.
24:39It's like a butterscotch milkshake.
24:40Yeah.
24:40Oh, that's so good.
24:41I'm going to...
24:42That is really good.
24:42I'm going to actually
24:43magic wand this
24:44to get some of the...
24:46Mm.
24:46Mm.
24:47I think that this works
24:48really well on its own.
24:49Yeah?
24:49It's definitely probably
24:50an ideal drink,
24:51especially on a hot day.
24:53I can just walk around
24:54sipping on one of these.
24:55This is fantastic, actually.
24:56I see how people
24:56are lining up for this.
24:57Right?
24:57It's pretty good, yeah.
24:58On its own,
24:59like when I'm just having
25:00butterbeer,
25:01I really enjoy
25:03the frozen one.
25:04You're not having this
25:05with a meal.
25:05It should be too heavy
25:06with a meal.
25:08Very good.
25:09All right.
25:09Well, we have had
25:10a fantastic day
25:13Yeah.
25:13of Harry Potter
25:14snacks and eats.
25:16Yes.
25:16Mm.
25:17And we started off
25:18with English breakfast, right?
25:19Yep.
25:19And a little hot butterbeer.
25:20Then we went and got...
25:21Candy and honeydew.
25:22That's right, yep.
25:23We had the chocolate frog,
25:24Bertie Botts,
25:25every flavor jelly bean.
25:26We had the sherbet lemons,
25:27and then we had
25:28that delicious
25:29butterbeer fudge
25:30and the cauldron cake.
25:32So that was a lot of candy.
25:34Then we went ahead
25:35and got that ice cream.
25:36Mm.
25:36Really delicious, right?
25:37Butterbeer ice cream.
25:38Yeah.
25:38And after that...
25:40Back to three broomsticks
25:41for a...
25:42We had lunch,
25:43but I guess you could
25:44easily go back there
25:45for dinner as well.
25:45Same menu for lunch and dinner.
25:47And topped it off
25:48with frozen butterbeer.
25:50Okay.
25:51Let's get right down to it, buddy.
25:52A lot of really fantastic snacks.
25:54If you had to pick one
25:54as your favorite,
25:55what would you pick?
25:56Ooh.
25:57This is fun.
25:58I love walking around
25:59and having this in my hand.
26:02I'm immersed in the world.
26:03To me,
26:04frozen butterbeer
26:05is like a really fun way
26:07to enjoy it.
26:08And then I would say,
26:09secondly,
26:10that just taste-wise,
26:12that butterbeer fudge
26:13is like such a great snack.
26:14So fudge was number one for me.
26:16Two,
26:17I would go with this.
26:17Yeah.
26:18And then third,
26:19you know,
26:20not a big shepherd's pie guy,
26:21but those shepherd's pies here
26:22was pretty good
26:22for it was hearty.
26:23Yeah.
26:23For what they gave you,
26:24it was a pretty good portion.
26:25So I don't want to make it
26:26seem like it's all sweets here.
26:27Like the savory stuff
26:27is good too.
26:28Yeah.
26:28On the savory note,
26:30I tried fish
26:32for the first time
26:34in my adult life.
26:34That's right.
26:35So that's cool.
26:36It was in the sea
26:36and it went in the news.
26:37Yeah.
26:38Would I get that?
26:39No.
26:39But, you know,
26:40it's a theme park.
26:41We're having fun.
26:41We're going around.
26:41All of a sudden,
26:42the butterbeer,
26:43like,
26:43man,
26:44butterscotch is back,
26:45baby.
26:45Butterscotch is back.
26:47Yeah.
26:47Okay.
26:47Great.
26:48Well,
26:49this was fantastic.
26:50We have more delicious food
26:51to eat here at Universal.
26:53Yes, we do.
26:53That's for the next episode.
26:54Let's finish a butterbeer.
26:55Cheers.
26:56Tomorrow,
26:56we eat again.
26:57Mmm.
26:59I think we need,
27:00like,
27:00a magic spell
27:01for, like,
27:01emptying the belly.
27:02I think we need to
