00:00How are we feeling about the Dallas Cowboys?
00:01Let's just say he sits out the first game for four games of the season
00:04before he gets signed.
00:05How are we feeling now, Joe, about the Dallas Cowboys?
00:10Business as usual, Don, is what it feels like to me with this whole thing.
00:14He's never going to get, I mean, listen,
00:16Jerry knows if he truly wanted to trade him,
00:19he could get back a ridiculous haul for him, right?
00:22Especially at this point.
00:24But that's the leverage half.
00:25He also knows that, all right, you're not going to show up.
00:28You're going to forfeit the money this year, right?
00:30And what are you going to take, a year off?
00:32You know you're going to be worth less money a year away from the game
00:36than anything else, Donnie.
00:37So in all likelihood, this is just Jerry being Jerry
00:41because he figures he's going to get the best deal done
00:44the longer that this goes and the more he is itching to get out on the field.
00:49It's a timing issue with Jerry.
00:51It always is.
00:52And he's done this with every star that came up for a contract
00:55that he's had over the last couple of decades.
00:58So I'm telling you right now, it will be in the 23rd hour
01:03right before kickoff, the week of the first game,
01:06and then all of a sudden it'll be like,
01:07see, I told you don't lose sleep over.
01:08It's all good.
01:10And the worst part about it is, too, it's like, you know,
01:12when you have a beautiful car, let's just say like a Ferrari,
01:15and it's so expensive, there's only, you know,
01:17a minimum amount of people that can actually buy that car.
01:20Whereas you say, hey, no, I got a nice Toyota Corolla here.
01:22It's got 30,000 miles on it.
01:24It's a little bit older.
01:24You might have a lot of people bidding for that car.
01:26Why I'm bringing that up is, it's easy to say, I want a trade.
01:30But what is fair market value for Micah Parsons for the Cowboys?
01:33Okay, an NFL team, Joe, three first-round picks,
01:36and then you're going to pay this guy more money than anybody's ever seen
01:40on the defensive side?
01:41Like, it's almost like saying, yes, everybody would love Micah,
01:44but nobody's paying that price for Micah Parsons.
01:46What fair market value would be in a trade?
01:48Yeah, a boatload, you know, a resetting of the franchise kind of boatload is what you get.
01:57These kind of position players in there heading into their prime at the end of a, what,
02:0350-year rookie deal, they don't come available, Donnie.
02:06This is, you know, it just does not happen.
02:09It's like, oh, well, you know, Joe Burrow is not going to, I mean,
02:13the kinds of guys that have gone to this point with other teams,
02:17they don't leave the organization.
02:19Like, the organization realizes we've got a franchise dude here.
02:22We're going to pay him, but we're not going to make it easy for him.
02:26They never, ever, ever do.
02:28But you could reset this franchise if you truly wanted to do it.
