00:00U.S. tariff on India is all set to come into force starting August 7th,
00:04a day after U.S. President called India his dead economy.
00:08After imposing 25% tariff, U.S. further targeted India,
00:12this time over India-Russia oil deal.
00:14U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that India's continued oil trade with Russia
00:19is helping to sustain Moscow's war efforts in Ukraine.
00:22He also said that India's stance is a point of irritation in its relationship with Washington
00:26and thought it was not the only one.
00:29Meanwhile, government sources tell India today that Centre is not too worried by Trump's move
00:33and that the Indian economy remains a bright spot in the global economy.
00:37Commerce Minister Piyush Gowell in Parliament said government is studying impact of Trump tariffs
00:42and that India will prioritise farmers, MSMEs and exporters,
00:46adding that India will soon be the third largest economy in the world.
00:50Opposition continues to attack BJP after LOP Rahul Gandhi echoed Trump's charge of India's economy turning dead.
00:57Opposition alleges that Modi Sarkar's foreign policy failure led to tariffs and questioned the PM's silence on the sale.
01:05Let's take a look at some of the reactions that's come into the story so far.
01:08India came to the table early.
01:12They've been slow rolling things.
01:14So I think that the president, the whole trade team's a bit frustrated with them.
01:20And also, you know, India has been a large buyer of sanctioned Russian oil
01:25that they then resell as refined products.
01:30So, you know, they have not been a great global actor.
01:34The implications of the recent development are being examined by the government.
01:40The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is engaged with all stakeholders,
01:46including exporters and industry, for taking feedback of their assessment of the situation.
01:53The government attaches the utmost importance to protecting and promoting the welfare of our farmers,
02:02workers, entrepreneurs, exporters, MSMEs, and all sections of industry.
02:11We will take all necessary steps to secure and advance our national interest.
02:21The government has destroyed our economic policy,
02:26has destroyed our defense policy,
02:31has destroyed our foreign policy.
02:35Okay?
02:35They are running this country into the ground.
02:40You people don't say it.
02:42You people want to talk about other issues.
02:44Right?
02:44But they are running this country into the ground.
02:46Well, I represent 200 of the largest companies in America and India.
03:07And let me tell you that they're all nervous.
03:09I mean, Indian companies in America are feeling very exposed and vulnerable right now.
03:15American companies in India are uncertain.
03:18You know, business doesn't like uncertainty.
03:20It likes predictability.
03:22And if the U.S. and India can't agree a deal that, you know, frames the economic relationship
03:28and sends a positive psychological message to investors,
03:32it's going to be very hard to see growth.
03:34And both the president and the prime minister advocated for hitting a $500 billion target in annual trade.
03:41We can't do it if we don't get this deal done,
03:43because the deal is the foundation of what is going to be further deals.
03:48So I think, speaking for the business community,
03:50everybody just wants to see this drama come to an agreed deal.
03:54Well, there is no denying the fact that U.S. is a very prominent market,
04:01one of the biggest trading partner of India across all the production services.
04:06And the importance of U.S. market cannot just be, you know, underestimated,
04:11given the fact that it accounts for almost 33% of India's apparel trade.
04:16And the only countries, I think, which are ahead of India in markets here in apparel import of U.S.
04:23are China, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
04:26So it will, I mean, any, you know, kind of upheaval in India-U.S. trade scenario
04:33can adversely impact India's apparel trade.
04:36Now, India Today also spoke to National Security and Indo-Pacific analyst Derek J. Crossman
04:44on the India-U.S. trade tariff war and its impact on both the countries.
04:48Let's listen in to what has been said by him.
04:52What we see currently with this tariff imposition is that
04:56it's been reshaping the geopolitical calculus of India with Washington.
05:00But more importantly, I would want your opinion on whether this 25% imposition
05:05is indeed let out of frustration, one would say, of Donald Trump
05:11in his inability to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
05:17Well, thanks for having me.
05:19Yeah, and I know this is a tough situation for the India-U.S. strategic partnership.
05:25I feel like yesterday, my time, and I guess two days ago, your time,
05:29I mean, it was a, it was kind of a bombshell for the relationship, right?
05:33That had otherwise been pretty clean and pretty, pretty, I mean, historically strong, right?
05:39And so to answer your question, I think that, you know, look, Trump started out on April 2nd
05:46saying that India would face a 26% tariff rate.
05:51And India has only been able to get that down to 25%.
05:54And of course, there's the threat of a potential penalty for India importing discounted barrels
06:00of Russian oil.
06:01And so I think what we saw in the last 24 to 48 hours was really Trump taking aim at India
06:08to stop them, to stop India from importing that oil.
06:14Because the president has clearly been frustrated in dealing with Vladimir Putin.
06:19And the war in Ukraine has been escalating, right?
06:22Not de-escalating or kind of, you know, mellowing out in some way, right?
06:26It is, in fact, it's been going in the opposite direction.
06:29So I think this was a clear shot across the bow that India's position of trying to have
06:35its cake and eat it too is simply not going to work, right?
06:39The relationship with the United States will not be as pleasant if India continues to import
06:45those barrels of oil from Russia.
06:47So I think that's a lot of what this has to do with.
06:50And frankly, it's unclear how it's going to proceed, right?
06:53Because Trump is relatively unpredictable.
06:56He's transactional.
06:58So I mean, tomorrow could bring a much better day.
07:00And the days to come could bring much better days for the U.S.-India partnership in the future.
07:07The current situation is not a simple one.
07:10From trade wars to oil dreams, Donald Trump is shaking things up yet again.
07:15And after imposing a steep 25% import duty on Indian products, the U.S. president is now
07:20turning his attention to Pakistan.
07:23He went ahead and struck a deal with Pakistan to develop what he called its massive oil reserves.
07:28But do the Park Oil reserves claim hold water?
07:32India Today reports take a look.
07:33Troubled at home, fighting with his own central bank over interest rates, a busy U.S. president
07:45is shaking things up.
07:47After imposing a steep 25% import duty along with penalties on India, Trump is now betting
07:54big on Pakistan.
07:55He has inked a deal to develop what he called Pakistan's massive oil reserves.
08:02Yes, Pakistan, the same country struggling to keep the lights on, let alone drill for oil.
08:09But here's the twist.
08:11That so-called massive reserve was declared by Imran Khan in 2019 and was denied hours later
08:17by Pakistan's own petroleum division.
08:21Four companies drilled deep beyond 5,500 metres and found nothing.
08:26Pakistan's total proven reserves, just 353 million barrels, ranking 52nd in the global production.
08:35It produces only 88,000 barrels a day, while consuming over 550,000, relying on 84% imports.
08:43Despite seismic surveys offshore, no major oil discovery has been confirmed yet.
08:50Even worse, most of Pakistan's reserves lie in Balochistan, a province in open rebellion
08:56against Islamabad.
08:58So forget drilling, even access is in question.
09:02So is Trump really chasing black gold or a fool's dream?
09:06One thing is for sure, when it comes to Pakistan, selling dreams may be the only real export left.
09:13Bureau report, India Today.
09:19Now Trump's decision to impose 25% tariff on India has raked a massive political storm.
09:24Trump also predicted that Indian economy is dead.
09:28However, this remark has been echoed by opposition leaders in India.
09:32While supporting Trump's stance, Rahul Gandhi said that India's economy is dead
09:35and accused the Prime Minister of killing it.
09:38However, this remark has drawn flack from across the board.
09:41Grammy winner Rikki Cage and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan slammed Rahul
09:47for echoing the US tone.
09:49Rikki Cage claimed that it seems that Rahul Gandhi seems to derive pleasure from bringing down India.
09:54Pawan Kalyan also said that making such statements for political gain
09:57at the cost of India's dignity and global standing is deeply irresponsible.
10:02They work for only Adhani.
10:07The argument is very simple, that the same gentleman, whomever that Grammy Awards guy or
10:13the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Pawan Kalyan, should have had the same anger
10:21to say to Mr. Modi that why you are keeping mum when Trump is calling you that 28 times
10:28that he has stopped the war, ceasefire Pakistan.
10:34Where were they?
10:35Where was Pawan?
10:36Where was the Tejal?
10:38Where they are?
10:39They are living in India or somewhere else?
10:42Why this anger is not there when India is insulted by Trump again and again and again?
10:47Whoever is insulted by the Trumps, he has not been with you.
10:52And the ones who are sitting behind you, he is not with you.
10:57You choose to go behind America, but Trump has 30 times you have to be rejected.
11:03The Trumps did not have to be rejected when they were not.
11:06The People also had to be seen before America,
11:09but if they were rejected now,
11:13We are doing 25% of the tariff and we are talking about the penalty, so this is what we are trying to do with Modi.
11:30We are talking about top fragile economy.

12:29With that, Amit Bhardwa joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details and put it into context
12:34for us. Amit, a very good morning to you. Very firstly, the attacks have been mounting against
12:40the government at this given point under the current circumstances. And now we also see
12:45people, personalities rather, like Ricky Cage coming out to call out Rahul Gandhi's comments
12:51or rather remarks that India's economy is dead. Now we are in the middle of a parliament session
12:55which is currently underway. What more are we expecting in terms of whether this reaches
13:02the parliament? It already has in the form of an adjournment motion. What more are we
13:06expecting from the days preceding and how things have panned out so far?
13:13Well, Sriya, you know, the parliamentarians from the India bloc are very much concerned
13:17with the tariff war that has been declared by United States and that's what they are terming
13:23it as one. Because if you compare the tariff rate that has been proposed for Pakistan,
13:27it's 19 percent. For India, it's 25 percent. That's what is going to trigger the India's
13:32opposition to be, you know, targeting guns at the Modi government or the India government,
13:37so to say, in the parliament. And even yesterday when I was speaking to a couple of parliamentarians,
13:42they were saying that, look, we need a very concrete response from the finance minister,
13:46the commerce minister and the prime minister in this regards as to why India is being treated in
13:51the manner of which it's being done right now by the Trump administration. On one hand,
13:56the Trump administration continues to claim and reiterate that the peace between India and
14:00Pakistan or the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was brokered by Donald Trump, the American
14:06president. On the other side, India has 25 percent of tariff has been imposed on Indian economy,
14:14Indian businesses. So that's a big, you know, issue for the India bloc MPs, the opposition MPs that
14:19they believe on one side, obviously the opposition would want the government to be cornered in the
14:24parliament. On the other side, they also have certain concerns which reflect with the stakeholders
14:30of the industry. But the government continues to say that they are in constant touch with the
14:34stakeholders, be it the MSME, the farmer community stakeholders or the big industries,
14:40and they are trying to understand what is going to be the impact of this 25 percent tariff that has
14:45been imposed by the Trump administration on India and know what the sense within the government seems
14:51to be that they don't want to hurry on this. You know, there will not be any hurry decisions and whatever
14:57decision is taken as Piyush Goyal, the minister, on the floor of the house had mentioned it will be in
15:03the national interest. So national interest will be kept as the top priority. But obviously, when you have
15:09Rahul Gandhi, the leader of opposition training grants at the government declaring, you know,
15:14a complete war of words over this issue, there are certain individuals like Ricky Cage, as you
15:21mentioned, Pawan Kalyan as well, who is now in a way criticizing Rahul Gandhi and backing the government
15:27back to you. Right, Amit, thank you for in fact, explaining that as to what exactly has been going on,
15:35even from the parliamentarian sides, in terms of how they have been upping the ante in their
15:41slumming of the government under the current circumstances. That's all that we have for you
15:45viewers at this point on that very story. We are keeping a close watch as to how things unfold.
15:49But right now, we have more breaking news coming in. Let's take a look.
15:51Now, trouble mounts for Anil Ambani. ED raids in Odisha and Kolkata in fake bank guarantee case.
16:06The ED has come out to report that Anil's firm's contract based on fake bank guarantee. Three
16:13premises have been raided in Bhubaneshwar, one in Kolkata. Fake commission bills were generated by
16:19Anil Ambani's firm. That's what the ED has come out to report. ED has alleged that fake
16:22bills for commission to firm was also generated by Anil Ambani's firm. Multiple undisclosed bank
16:28accounts have been detected. Suspicious transactions of crores of rupees found in these bank accounts.
16:34This is what we have for you at this point. Munish Pandey joins us on the broadcast to bring us more
16:38details. Munish, a very good morning to you. Do take us through the current ED raids that has been
16:44launched in Odisha and in West Bengal at this point, as we are learning. Take us through what
16:50more has the ED picked up on this very case so far? Well, good morning, Shriya. You know,
16:56as far as enforcement rectate is concerned, there is a series of crackdown against Anil Ambani and
17:01his business entities. Earlier, Shriya, we know that there were three days of continuous searches
17:06and, you know, seizure operation by the enforcement rectate at the premises in Mumbai. But now what we
17:13are picking up from our sources within the enforcement rectate is that there are multiple
17:18frauds which has been discovered by the ED officials. Initially, the searches were only in
17:24connection to the 3,000 crore rupees of bank fraud case. But later on, ED stumbled upon documents which
17:31revealed that more than 14,000 crore has been defrauded by the Anil Ambani's business entities
17:38in the past few years. But now, again, what we have been given to understand is that there is a
17:43fake guarantee bank case also. What ED officials are telling India today at this point of time is that
17:51to get a contract in Odisha, there was a fake bank guarantee which was given by Anil Ambani business
17:56entities. That particular company which gave the fake guarantee that was given 8% commission. And
18:04that 8% was given through fake bills by Anil Ambani business entities. So overall, it seems like the
18:11the total amount of fraud in multiple cases is reaching more than 20,000 crore. And amid all this,
18:19Anil Ambani has been called in by questioning by the enforcement rectate on 5th of August. So certainly,
18:24trouble seems to be mounting for Anil Ambani, his top executives who were searched by the ED earlier,
18:31and also for his business entities. Shame.
18:35Right, Maneesh. Thank you for bringing us all those details into this very case. It is now developing
18:40at this point, viewers, and we are keeping a close track as to how things are, in fact,
18:43progressing on the investigative front.
18:45With that, we are now bringing you breaking news. Nobel Laureate wades into the language
18:58row. Amartya Sen has come out to say, will object? Will Bengalis face neglect?
19:05Nobel Laureate has come out to say, Bengalis discriminated in other states. Will hit the
19:10streets if Bengalis are oppressed? These are the remarks that's coming from Nobel Laureate.
19:15Amartya Sen. Now, Nobel Prize winner Amartya Sen has spoken out on the issue of Bengali language.
19:20When Amartya Sen was asked about this in Shantiniketan today, he said that if people speak Bengali,
19:26not only Bengalis, but any other language, have to go to other states and face neglect,
19:31then we will object to it. On the question of Mamata Banerjee taking to the streets and
19:35protesting on the issue of Bengali language, Amartya Sen said that if Bengali speakers are being
19:40oppressed, we will object to it. This is his very remark that's coming in listening to what has been
19:47said by the Nobel Laureate.
19:55There is only situation that we can stay in the same way.
20:03And in their own circumstances, we have been able to work with every human being,
20:08each person, each person, to the everyone.
20:14But that's important for us.
20:16kesan
20:28with that, Anupam Mishra joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details into this very story that we are now picking up
20:34Anupam, a very good morning to you
20:36you know this is what has been said by the Nobel laureate
20:39a man of his stature coming out to also make such remarks in the current language row that we are seeing unfold
20:46How are we looking at it?
21:16How are we looking at it?
21:46That's how we are looking at this very remark that's come in from the Nobel laureate.
21:52With that, viewers, we're now shifting our focus to some more breaking news coming in.
21:55Moving up north now, Dhami government's new diktat for tourists.
22:06Planning a trip to Masori? Get registered first.
22:09Registration is mandatory for tourists in Masori.
22:12Tourists must register on the government portal ahead of the visit.
22:16Registration has now been made mandatory for tourists visiting Uttarakhand's Masori.
22:21The tourists visiting Masori will be registering all their details on this portal that has been developed by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department itself at the time of check-in.
22:30As per an official report that's come out on Thursday.
22:32This is what we're picking up at this given point.
22:34And with that, Ankit Sharma joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details.
22:37Ankit, a very good morning to you.
22:39Let's first understand what this portal is that's been devised by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department.
22:45As well as how it will be working, operating for the tourists.
22:49And what shall the tourists, you know, what is an advisory of sorts for the tourists to look out for if they are planning a visit to Masori?
22:59Good morning, Shreya.
23:00Well, this is the much-awaited step from the government's perspective, if I say.
23:07And the government has brought in another step, like they have been following it for Chardham registration.
23:12And such a step has been brought in for Masori as well.
23:15Over the past three years, after Joshi Madh's subsidence case, NGT has been monitoring the carrying capacity of various hill stations
23:23and had been asking that the government should implement the carrying capacity measures in all hill stations.
23:31Now, after that, the government has brought in to assess the number of tourists visiting the hill station
23:38and the carrying capacity, which amounts to, which includes the number of vehicles and people coming in
23:45and the infrastructure being built for them.
23:48So, now the government wants to assess the number of tourists visiting the Masori hill station as well as Nenital.
23:56Now, the first pilot project has been conducted in Masori where the tourists arriving at the hotels,
24:01when they check in, they will need to also register on the tourist care registration app of the Uttarakhand Tourism Department.
24:10And it has two details of their vehicles, their address and the Aadhaar card they will need to upload.
24:18If they do not want to register on that app, their hotel manager or the hotel owner can also register on the same app.
24:27This is not mandatory as of now because as we spoke to the tourism secretary and he says that this is not mandatory as of now,
24:36but they are going to make it a habit for the next year.
24:40And this is very crucial for the peak hours, that is winter holidays, summer holidays and the long weekends.
24:46It is a crucial step that's being taken by the Uttarakhand government.
24:50And yes, Ankit, thank you for bringing us all those details and that, viewers, is what we are picking up at this point
24:55on how that very portal that's been devised is to function in the upcoming days.
25:07With that, we are now shifting our focus to more breaking news coming in.
25:11A massive ED crackdown unmasks 100 crore rupee international scam syndicate.
25:18In a high-voltage midnight operation, the ED swooped down on three locations in Delhi's Kanpur area.
25:24Sources have come out to tell us that the ED has unearthed a sinister racket run through a bogus call centre,
25:31one that has allegedly duped thousands of unsuspecting foreign nationals, especially in the United States,
25:37by selling pirated or fake software disguised as legitimate ones like Microsoft Windows.
25:42What's even more shocking at this point is that the foreign remittances amounting to a staggering 100 crore rupees
25:48have flowed into the accounts of the shadowy network between 2016 and 2025.
25:54That's the time period we are looking at when we speak of this very international scam,
25:59it's a digital scam that we are looking at, and the ED has come out to now bust this very scam.
26:04100 crore rupee international scam syndicate is what has been busted, the nexus has been busted.
26:10Of course, more details await in terms of how the modest operandi of this entire scam,
26:17of this entire nexus worked out, who all were involved, where did the money trail come in from.
26:22But right now, it is a high-voltage midnight operation that was launched,
26:27which swooped down on three locations in Delhi's Kanpur area.
26:30With that, Munish joins us back on the broadcast to bring us more details on this.
26:34Munish, help us understand, this is what we are given the details of,
26:39help us understand the modest operandi that's been revealed so far as to how this very scam used to operate.
26:47Well, there was an intel input given to the enforcement directorate,
26:50and the officials of the enforcement directorate worked it out,
26:53and the input was regarding the fake call centers which were being run in the national capital.
27:00Now, after working on the intelligence input, the ED got to know that it's a scam of more than 100 crore rupees.
27:07The call centers are, you know, the people working in the call centers,
27:11they are making calls in U.S. and U.K. specifically,
27:15and those U.S. and U.K. citizens are being duped by some fraudsters in India.
27:21And based on that specific intel, the ED, around 10.30 in the night,
27:27they started a search, you can say, a raid at these premises.
27:32And what we have been given to understand is that several documents,
27:35especially regarding the financial transactions,
27:38has been recovered by the enforcement directorate.
27:41But, Shriya, what is important here is to note down is that
27:44there has been a series of crackdowns by the enforcement directorate
27:47on these fraudsters, right from India to Cambodia to several other places.
27:53ED has read it in the past, but now we have information that ED is now scaling it up,
28:00and they are also making a crackdown on all those illegal call centers
28:04who are duping not only Indians, but also foreigners,
28:07especially this call center which we are talking about
28:10was duping the citizens who are in U.S. and U.K.
28:13So, it's a massive crackdown.
28:15The search operation is still underway,
28:17and we have been given to understand is that
28:18certain individuals might be arrested very soon.
28:21Right.
28:21So, crackdowns have been up at this given point by the ED.
28:25Yes, Munish, thank you for bringing us all those details.
28:27U.S., that's what we are picking up at this point
28:29on this very piece of information.
28:31We take you to one of the biggest stories of the day,
28:33which is the verdict day in Prajwal Ravanna case.
28:36The verdict in one of the four cases of sexual abuse and rape
28:39registered against former Hassan MP Prajwal Ravanna is due today.
28:43Now, the trial in the case concluded on July 18th,
28:45and orders were reserved for July 30th,
28:47but the special court then adjourned the verdict to August 1st.
28:50The case concerns a 48-year-old woman
28:52who was working as a help at the family's farmhouse in Hassan
28:56and was allegedly raped twice and filmed by Prajwal Ravanna.
29:00She was also allegedly abducted and intimidated
29:03to prevent her from testifying after the scandal broke out in April last year.
29:08The victim was then rescued from a farmhouse by the special investigation team.
29:12Remember, the former MP and son of H.D. Ravanna
29:15is the prime accused in the multiple sexual abuse and rape case
29:19that came to lie during the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.
29:21Prajwal Ravanna had fled for Germany only a day after the polls
29:25and was arrested upon return to Bengaluru.
29:28That is the case that we are taking a look at.
29:31And today, the big verdict day in this very case,
29:34almost a year after the allegations first came to light,
29:39the Prajwal Ravanna sex scandal.
29:40We are presenting to you a timeline as well on our screens
29:43as to how the preliminary reports had come in,
29:47or rather the preliminary complaint had been filed
29:49post which the abduction took place
29:51and then it was the victim, the victim's brother,
29:54who had also come out to in fact reveal
29:56that the victim had been kidnapped for filing this complaint.
30:01A series of events had taken place
30:02post which Prajwal Ravanna himself even fled to Germany
30:05and after that he came back,
30:08he made a return to Bengaluru
30:10post which he was arrested from the airport itself.
30:21Moving on to another story that's now coming in from the state of Karnataka itself,
30:30the Bengaluru kidnap and murder shocker.
30:32Big breakthrough having been made wherein the killer was caught in encounter,
30:37the killer was shot at and injured in encounter.
30:3913-year-old abducted and killed in Bengaluru.
30:43The killer also attacked the cops and shot in the legs.
30:4713-year-old kidnapped and murder case,
30:49accused, shot and arrested at this point.
30:51Major breakthrough in the Hulimabu kidnapping and murder case.
30:55Police have arrested two accused after opening fire on them during the encounter.
30:59And remember, Gurumurthi and Gopalakrishna,
31:02the main accused, were shot in the legs and apprehended by the police.
31:0613-year-old Nishchit, son of a college professor,
31:08was abducted while returning from tuition.
31:11His body was discovered last evening near the Banerghatta forest area.
31:15Police opened fire in self-defense after the accused attempted
31:18to attack them with lethal weapons while resisting arrest.
31:21Despite a warning shot in the air,
31:23the accused continued the assault,
31:25prompting officers to fire a total of six rounds.
31:27Now, both accused have been shifted
31:29to the Jainagar Government Hospital for treatment
31:31and will later be moved to Victoria Hospital.
31:33Gurumurthi, who worked as a spare driver at the boys' residence,
31:37is said to be the mastermind with a known criminal background.
31:40He had frequent access to the house
31:41and allegedly kidnapped and murdered the child on the same night
31:44before demanding ransom from the family.
31:46Police are investigating the motive behind the killing
31:48and further leads in the very case.
31:51This is what we have for you on this very abduction and murder case.
31:56And we also have a reaction from the police official
31:59as to where the investigation stands at this given point.
32:02Let's listen in.
32:02Why are you right now?
32:03When you have a man to protect the police?
32:04In the半, the police Kommissar?
32:06Well, for a minute,
32:07they are going to the police station
32:10and have only a complaint before Washington Post.
32:12They had to complain about the police station.
32:14In hours, the police station was charged,
32:14and they were caught in the police station.
32:20And then, they were able to figure out the details,
32:22or the dealer's getting to now,
32:24where he was on the ňve and on the street.
32:26In the sentencing site,
32:28they had to finish the interrogation kinds,
32:28and they had to send them off the원.
32:29That's why I was inquired by the investigation model.
32:38When I went to Kaglipura, I saw a murder murder in the police station.
32:48The inspector and the staff went to the spot.
32:53If someone is missing, we will immediately check the photo and confirm the photo.
33:13We have been able to do the procedure
33:21and we have been able to do the investigation.
33:25We have been able to do the investigation.
33:30We have been able to do the investigation.
33:34Now Sagar Rao joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details.
33:38Sagar, you know this is a gruesome murder case that we are looking at
33:41and the motive remains to be one of the primary aspects of investigation at this point
33:47because you know even when the cops had found the kidnappers with the child
33:54they continued with the act and they went ahead to kill the very child
33:59that we are in fact bringing to our viewers at this given point.
34:02So the motive remains to be a primary cause of concern at this point Sagar.
34:06Absolutely and if you see that they were known people to the family
34:10and they were known to, just since the 13 year old boy was kidnapped and murdered,
34:15they were known to the father and mother of that particular family
34:21and when he was returning from tuition he was been kidnapped
34:25and he was taken to a secluded place and thereafter they have
34:30the family members for a ransom of Pylak.
34:32After that they realized that they might get caught, they have killed him and escaped from the spot.
34:37The family also filed a complaint and also arranged Pylak rupees
34:41and they were waiting to give the Pylak to receive the son.
34:44However, they were shocked to hear the news from the police that a dead body was found near Banagata area.
34:51The police which have launched the investigation have found out this accused
34:56and when they try to apprehend them, they try to retaliate with sharp weapons against the police
35:02and the police in a counter have shot them on their legs
35:07and both of them have been hospitalized and the investigation under progress.
35:12But the family members are completely shocked because the person who has executed this particular kidnap and murder
35:19was a spare driver which has been hired by the family
35:23and they weren't aware that this particular person will go ahead and kidnap and murder their own son.
35:29Right Sagar, indeed it is horrifying at this point what we have in terms of this case
35:34and the details that's emerging from this case
35:36and we will keep a close track as the investigation continues
35:38but right now viewers, we are getting more breaking news.
35:48Moving on, BSF Jawan goes missing from Srinagar camp.
35:52During late hours and late night hours of 31st July,
35:57one BSF personnel of 6TBN Sugam Chaudhary went missing from the battalion headquarters in Pantachok
36:05and despite search efforts in nearby areas, he could not be traced.
36:09A missing report has now been lodged at the police station Pantachok by the unit for further necessary action to be taken.
36:16These are the latest details we are picking up and Meir Farir joins us on the broadcast to bring us more details into this.
36:22Meir, very good morning to you.
36:24What more are we picking up in terms of when this BSF Jawan was last seen before the missing report was filed
36:32and what more details are we picking up from the ground at this point?
36:36Well, this has happened late last night when a BSF Jawan of 60 Battalion went missing from the Pantachok
36:44BSF Battalion headquarters in the outskirts of Srinagar.
36:48Since BSF has launched a search operation and also a missing report has been filed in the Pantachok police station.
36:55Now the BSF sources say that these things can happen because at times the Jawans are discontored by probably leave not sanctioned in their favour and such things.
37:07So this is rare but BSF is on it and since it's a disturbed area they can't take any chances because we know that there are terror activities etc.
37:18So all angles have been taken care of but most probably it is the case where because of now not being sanctioned leave he may have left the search operations on and also the native area the police station
37:32or the native area of the BSF Jawan has also been alerted because in case he has gone back home so he should be placed there as well.
37:39So all efforts are on but it is gone missing from the outskirts of Srinagar.
37:43Right, thank you for bringing us all those information and details as to what exactly has come to light on this very piece of breaking news that we are bringing to you viewers.
37:52With that we are shifting our focus to another story now down south.
37:56In a dramatic political turn in Tamil Nadu, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and expelled AIADM ke leader O Paneer Selvam has announced his factions decision to break away from the NDA.
38:07The move comes just after OPS met with Chief Minister MK Stalin during his routine morning walk.
38:12In the lead up to the decision OPS had sought a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself during his recent visit to Tamil Nadu.
38:18However, he was not granted an appointment.
38:21And after this perceived snub he criticised the centre over the delay in dispersing education funds.
38:26And now OPS has walked out of the BJP led coalition.
38:29His exit raises questions about potential realignments in the state ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu polls itself.
38:36OPS remember has not ruled out the possibility at the same time of joining hands with actor Vijay's party TVK.
38:42When asked about a possible alliance he has said that there is still time before the elections.
38:47Now these are the details we have in terms of what exactly has been underway.
38:51Let's quickly listen in to OPS as to what he had to say on the matter.
38:54Anaga Keshav joins me on the broadcast to bring us more details.
39:15Anaga, when we speak of the political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu at this point it has already been quite interesting to watch the developments as to alliances that are being reinforced or new alliances that may be in the horizon and may happen in the upcoming days.
39:34With this very development taking place, what are we anticipating?
39:41In fact, OPS has exited the BJP led India Alliance after a diplomatic snub.
39:48When the Prime Minister was here in Tamil Nadu to inaugurate various projects, OPS had written
39:53a letter to him stating that it would be his singular honour to receive and welcome and send
39:58off Prime Minister Modi and had sought some time with him.
40:02But it was denied by the Prime Minister's office and hence it looks like OPS has rebelled against the India Alliance.
40:09Soon after he was given that diplomatic snub, he gave out public criticism against the centre,
40:15against the disbursement of the educational funds for Tamil Nadu that has been withheld by the centre.
40:21Then soon after he also held a meeting with all of his followers and then came out and said that he has decided to exit the BJP led India Alliance.
40:30So it really looks like it is the diplomatic snub that he faced, the humiliation and the sidelining that he has undergone
40:37in the past several years that has subsequently led to him leaving the BJP led India Alliance.
40:44Now options are still open for OPS.
40:46He may either choose to join hands with TVK, although he did meet with Chief Minister Stalin and his son
40:53and Deputy Chief Minister Uday Nidhi yesterday. The possibilities of OPS siding with DMK are very, very unlikely.
41:00We are hearing that it was a courtesy visit. So chances are there for OPS to side with TVK.
41:06Given the fact that Vijay's party, TVK has also made it clear in the past that they are open to forming alliances,
41:12but it will be decided closer to elections. So since both these parties are open to the possibilities of an alliance,
41:19they might forge an alliance, but only time will turn when we get closer to elections,
41:25will be really known if these two parties will join hands or not.
41:28Very true, Anaka. Thank you so much for bringing us all those details into what exactly has been underway
41:33and what we may anticipate in the upcoming days as we inch closer to the Tamil Nadu polls to take place next year.
41:39But with that viewers, we are now shifting our focus to some more breaking news coming in.
41:51And next up our focus turns to the national capital, a mega mock drill on earthquake preparation at 55 locations of Delhi.
41:59This is news coming in from the Ramlila ground. The situation given for this mock drill is that a 6.8 magnitude earthquake has struck Delhi NCR.
42:09These are the details we have so far of the very mock drill that's taking place.
42:14And we have Kumar Kunal joining us. Shriya Chatterjee, I beg your pardon, joining us at this given point.
42:21We have in fact both our colleagues to take us through these very developments in terms of what exactly is this mock drill all about and how it's proceeding.
42:31I'll come to you Kumar first. What more details are we picking up in terms of the mock drill that's currently taking place?
42:38I can see the offices lined up behind you at this point. Take us through what's happening there.
42:44I can show you the visuals first that how different teams, those teams which are from Delhi police, NDRF, Delhi disaster management authority and even medical teams,
43:01they have gathered here at Ramlila ground in anticipation that there is a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Delhi.
43:09And that's why all these preparations are taking place. You must be knowing that Delhi falls in Sismic Zone 4 and hence it is very much vulnerable for the disaster-like earthquake.
43:19And that's why this mega mock drill is happening at 55 locations of Delhi right now simultaneously.
43:26I can show you that how all the senior officials from district including district magistrate, they are also holding charge here
43:36and they are actually giving instructions to all the teams that how the things will happen.
43:43I am being joined by Mr. Sudhakar who is district magistrate here.
43:47So he is actually being giving instructions to all the teams.
43:51So this is one of the major exercises by the Delhi government and central government, Delhi police as well to actually prevent any kind of damage from any kind of disaster activities including earthquakes and other disasters as well.
44:15It will. So this will take place in each and every area and this is the situation right now here at Ramlila ground.
44:22We can see the visual, we can see the visuals Kumar. Thank you for bringing us all those information. Stay with us.
44:29Let me also quickly bring in Shreya into the conversation here. Shreya, Delhi NCR, this region falls under Sismic Zone 4.
44:36So these mock drills come in at quite a crucial time. Only a few days ago we had seen a massive earthquake hit Delhi NCR and much required mock drills that we are witnessing in the national capital.
44:50Absolutely. You know this is extremely important the reason so because Delhi does fall on the Sismic Zone 4.
44:56We are right now at RML hospital and you can see because the announcement has been made that this has been an earthquake which is a 6.8 Richter scale.
45:04And after that this is a hospital premise where there is a preparedness going on.
45:09What you can see right now the DFS vehicle is finding a little difficulty to enter the RML hospital.
45:15These are the reasons we need a mock drill for because you will understand that whether there is any kind of roadblocks when it needs to communication, when it needs to response time.
45:26These are the things which will be noted down so that when there will be a real earthquake the response time and the communication can be improved.
45:34Especially in places like hospitals like where I am right now in Arumul where there are a lot of active patient flows.
45:40It is extremely important to underline the communication by multiple agencies.
45:44You can see civil defence on the ground, you can see fire services on the ground, you can see Delhi police on the ground, all the people together.
45:52Right.
45:53They are working right now to actually measure the response time.
45:56In Arumul 16 people have been stuck right now who are being taken out.
46:00Right.
46:01It is a thorough mock drill that we are witnessing in the national capital.
46:05Shreya and Kumar thank you for joining us and taking us through those ground reports as to what exactly is happening in terms of how the entire mock drill is being executed.
46:16We will keep a track of that and more developments coming in on that front.
46:20But right now we are shifting our focus to another story down south.
46:23In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing mass burial investigation in Karnataka's Dharmasthala,
46:30partial skeletal remains have been found at a site, number 6, during the examination process,
46:35marking the first site to yield such evidence in the case currently under investigation.
46:41Here is a news report.
46:42Take a look.
46:53Day 3 of digging on the banks of the Netravathi river in the temple town of Dharmasthala has come to an end and partial skeletal remains have been found.
47:07After no success at five locations, site number 6 has yielded remains of a skeleton, but police sources say they are most likely male.
47:19Not just that, ropes, clothes, printer, laptops and other essential equipment were rushed to the spot number 6 where the remains were found.
47:31After two unsuccessful days, the third day, special investigation team in Dharmasthala mass burial case was able to find out skeletal remains at spot number 6.
47:42Remember, spot number 1 to 5, they couldn't find any skeletal remains.
47:48At number 6, they have found out partial skeletal remains this morning.
47:53As we speak now, you could see in the visuals, forensic officials, digging laborers, Bengaluru police as well as Dharmasthala police are in the exhibition process.
48:04And what we get to learn through our police sources is that they were able to find partial skeletal remains in this particular spot.
48:15This excavation is part of the ongoing alleged mass burial investigation by an SIT.
48:23Of the 15 spots identified by the former sanitation worker who claimed that hundreds were buried after possible rape and torture, 13 were accepted by SIT for investigation.
48:33Earlier in the excavation of the first five sites, the SIT denied recovering any evidence.
48:40But the lawyer of one of the missing girl's mother claimed that key items like a toned red blouse, ATM and pancarts bearing a man and a woman's name were found during the first site's exhumation.
48:52It all started when a former sanitation worker had alleged that he was forced to bury and cremate bodies of SIT's exhumation.
48:53It all started when a former sanitation worker had alleged that he was forced to bury and cremate bodies of SIT.
48:54of women and minors, with many showing why.
48:55It all started when a former sanitation worker had alleged that he was forced to bury and cremate bodies of women and minors,
48:56with many showing proof that the population was in their bodies of SIT's exhumation.
48:57I didn't say anything. I didn't comment on the S.A.T.
49:02I didn't say anything about the S.A.T.
49:04I didn't say anything about the S.A.T.
49:06I didn't say anything about the S.A.T.
49:09I didn't say anything about the S.A.T.
49:16It all started when a former sanitation worker
49:19had alleged that he was forced to bury and cremate
49:21bodies of women and minors with many showing signs
49:24of sexual assault between 1998 and 2014
49:27in the Temple Town.
49:30The new discovery will give clarity to the S.A.T.
49:33whether this time and resource-consuming probe
49:35is indeed going in the right direction.
49:40With Sagai Raj in Dhamstala,
49:42Bureau Report, India Today.
49:47With that, we are now bringing to you another report.
49:50And this is from the international arena.
49:52Caught between hunger and gunfire,
49:54UNA trucks in Gaza face chaos
49:56as desperate crowds clash with bullets.
49:59Over 140 now dead from starvation,
50:02most of them being children.
50:04With the world watching,
50:05accusations fly and aid still stalls.
50:09Are relief efforts then turning into warzone missions?
50:12Well, here's our next report.
50:14Bring the details of it.
50:16Caught in the crossfire, a convoy of UN vehicles approaches a crowd
50:28of starving Palestinians near the Kerim Shalom crossing in Gaza.
50:33Men, women and children rushed to convoy in desperation.
50:38Some crouching, others running, all risking their lives for a chance at food.
50:43The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says
50:50the gunfire came from Israeli forces.
50:54UN described the scene as tens of thousands of hungry and desperate people
50:59left waiting for hours at checkpoints before aid is allowed to pass.
51:06Today we went on a mission to pick up food supplies from Kerim Shalom.
51:10One of the constraints that we faced was waiting about two and a half hours
51:14at an Israeli forces checkpoint,
51:17which by the time we were allowed to pass,
51:19we were met on the road by tens of thousands of hungry and desperate people
51:23who directly offloaded everything from the backs of our trucks.
51:29Palestinian health authorities say 147 people, including 88 children,
51:35have now died from hunger-related causes.
51:38The images of weakened, starving children have sent shockwaves around the world.
51:44But Israel denies the allegations.
51:49The situation is tough.
51:52But there is a lie.
51:54And the lie is the starvation policies.
52:02With mounting international outrage,
52:04Israel announced measures to ease aid access.
52:07But the UN World Food Programme says permissions are still falling short.
52:14As the world watches,
52:16Gaza hunger crisis deepens and aid delivery remains a mission under fire.
52:22The United Nations has called for immediate, safe and unimpeded humanitarian access.
52:28But as these visuals show, even that remains a deadly challenge.
52:33Bureau Report, India Today.
52:35Sometimes we have to drive at...
52:36On that note, we are ending the bulletin here for this hour.
52:40We are ending the bulletin here for this hour.
